Nice video! Any idea what kind of top coat do board manufacturers use? It doesn't look like regular paint, rather some kind of gelcoat (epoxy based). It would be nice to make a colored epoxy finish that will match the color of the board and offer better scratch resistance than the paint

Sorry I can’t help you. Mark who did all the talking has all the knowledge!

00:25 what the hell? 🤣 Good one mate. I usually go with ding stick and sand it down but it doesn't always look or hold well so epoxy resin does the job (don't have sun activated one)

This is great. What would you do differently on a Kona One which has foam on the sides and top?

I guess just peel the pads away, do the repair and glue the pads back on after.

nice video. So I dinged the nose of my slalom board. It is really sketchy to get the SunCure filler in Germany. Is there any other epoxy filler I can use?

I have no idea, Mark is the expert and he is away. You’ll have to ask a windsurf forum or repair guy!

Fill hole with epoxy resin with screw in. Then unscrew when hardened and it'll be sorted.

Could you follow this same process but use polyester resin that needs a hardener rather than the UV stuff? I've got some of that from a repair kit for use with fibreglass and I'm trying to fix a tiny underside ding like in this video (on a surfboard but)

      I’m pretty sure you can.

@@windsurfer Thanks mate. Don't see any reason why it wouldn't work so I think I'll just give it a shot

@@windsurfer Finished the repair today and it seems to have worked a treat. Bit more of a hassle having to mix it up and everything but I can confirm that it will do the trick! Thanks for the video and for your advice.
