13:23 You never know why someone purchases odd things. The Lucky Strike tins reminded me of when I was antique shopping with a friend. I had to explain to her why I had to purchase. 2 old sacks of Bull Durham tobacco. My Granddad born in 1899 raised 9 kids as a working cowboy on various ranches in Texas and New Mexico. He smoked Bull Durham and I have seen him roll a cigarette horseback. I learned how to roll them for him when I was a kid. I painted a picture of him that was taken for a magazine. He was bent over getting dinner at the campfire taken while they were on the range branding calves on the Bell Ranch in New Mexico. In the painting you can see the string and the yellow tab from the Bull Durham hanging out of his shirt pocket. I have the Bill Durham on a shelf along with my husband’s Kelly Spurs he had as a kid. hanging over the shelf is an old photo of my Granddad and uncle bent down sitting by corrals smoking and you guessed it … smoking Bull Durham. He was 86 when he passed.
What an interesting story! The painting sounds really realistic and cool. My grandmother Higby was born 12/31/1899, she only raised 4 as a nurse...a working cowboy would be pretty interesting to know!
Hi, besides admiring your knowledge of so many things, I love that you take us through the USA to places that we have never been to. (some of us) Also, I am sorry about your Mom’s passing and thank you for honoring her with so many kind words about her and her home. What are you planning to do about all her treasures? I ask because this is so close to your heart ❤ Thanks
I loved riding in those old BIG cars! So comfortable. Like floating. But wow the gas prices now. Wouldn't get very far. What a difference in gas prices then and now!
I liked the car show at this one as well. I love the old cars. Thanks for taking me along with you and for sharing your knowledge of the antique world as well. You have a great day
George, you're making me late to do ny chores again. I've been trying to cut down on my screen time but you're still at the top of my list. As always yours in admiration and love, Sister Shirley
HI GEORGE! GREAT SWAP MEET! THANK YOU FOR SHARING! I WAS SO SURPRISED TO SEE THE GEISHA GIRL WITH WIGS! AS I HAD PURCHASED THAT EXACT DOLL, FOR MY SISTER WHO HAD VISITED JAPAN, & I FOUND AT ANGEL VIEW THRIFT STORE! KEEP UP YOUR GREAT WORK! I LEARN SO MUCH WHEN WATCHING YOU! GOD BLESS YOU!👍❤️🇺🇲🍔
Just a memory inspired by the bee linens when you said "printed on it" reminded me of a fabric pen in the mid 50's to early 60's that my mom purchased to do embroidery instead of thread.. it was all the rage and not cheap. It was a rare treat for my mother to afford. It was so exciting as a little kid. An old thought😂❤
Thanks for taking me to the Flea Market with you. I love to see what’s for sale. Interesting finds. I’m going to look for a small piece advertising Falstaff beer (my dads drink and our dogs name). See you on our next trip. Jan
@@TheAntiqueNomad It's been a while for me too. Since it's 3 times a year it gives people choices weather wise . Thank you for answering my question it was a lovely suprise.
I would have spent 3 hrs at the dollar tables! That never happens in my part of California unless it's some misfit plastic forks with 2 tines. I sa $50 worth just following your camera that would have come home with me. Thanks for talking us along and sharing your expertise, it's appreciated.
This is by far 1 of my favorite flea markets in Kentucky. I just moved from Clifty/Elkton, KY area several months ago due to my husbands passing. I’m now back in Texas with my daughter & my immediate family. Miss the country living but so enjoyed my time shopping in Greenville. Great video‼️
George thank you so much for the picture I love watching that you show us everything and what its words where it's from how they fixed it how you can fix it! !!!!!!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😅
Thank you for another awesome video! I feel like I could just fall in line beside you and meander along as you go around, teaching me something new about everything we see!! You would have made a fantastic high school teacher!! I loved that guitar!❤
Jolly good! I'm so excited that things we find here are of interest to you there. We do certainly find and understand a lot of nice things from England and the UK here as well!
My eye is always drawn to square shape plates, so it always makes me smile when you look at them in your videos. Lots of great stuff at this flea market!
I have a Green River Whiskey framed piece appx 2' x 3' that I bought at an auction years ago. Mine has everything in reverse or mirror image. I took it to the Antiques Road Show and the experts could not tell me what it was or why it was mirror image.
I’m not sure either but it sounds like it might be a contact negative for printing purposes? I have a large inking stone that shows a 1930s beer ad in reverse
@@TheAntiqueNomad I asked the Road Show "experts" if it was a done for printing, but they discounted that. It was funny, when they first looked at it they kind of blew it off as a just a Green River Whiskey ad, then they started really looking at it and called over another "expert" who was also stumped. It may well be a contact negative.. It's really the only thing that makes sense to me. But I'm certainly not an expert
Yes! I’ve found carrying lots of 5’s and 1’s promotes goodwill at garage sales. Most Chase banks in Portland dispense 5’s and some 1’s, which is very handy.
Wish you could share some info on the clear glass domed butter dish seen at the 12:08 mark, in the background of the green bowl! My sister gave me one & I’d love to learn more about it ❤ your channel ❤
@@TheAntiqueNomad Thank you so much! I have a set of green Tiara dishes, also from my Mother. I truly appreciate your sharing the wealth of knowledge you have so generously. I often picture you dressed in a black tuxedo, giving lectures at Sotheby’s. Would love to see you do tour of your home someday!❤️
Funny enough, I bought some colorful African beads from a guy selling junk on the side of the street in the early mid 90’s and started making jewelry for a short time.
A great evening to you, George! I'd like to have an old complete set of Tinker Toys, still in the original box. I would've loaded up on the old hardware, especially the porcelain wheels. That crystal candelabra was a beauty. I liked those old decoys. Fantastic buy on the old fire bucket! I'd have had a bag full of those doilies. I use those a lot. There was a toy aeroplane there that caught my eye. Couldn't tell if it was wood or not, though. If it was plastic, I wouldn't be interested in it. That was, for sure, a good flea market to browse...and buy. There were several things I would've stopped to give a look. Thanks for the take-along!
Hello there! I'm finally catching up with you. I was so tempted to get hardware but I'm telling myself I don't need the projects that would imply are coming. I'm so excited about the fire bucket, although funnily enough the green typewriter was the most valuable pickup. I think that airplane was wood, but it was not cheap!
I have a question do you know anything about those horse bookends. I have ones that are about half size that came out of my grandfather's Sears Cottage. They mean the world to me they're one of the only things I have from my grandfather I remember him fondly
Enjoyed your video. I collect presidential campaign buttons. Yes they were some that were reproduction but that was a good price on the others for 1 dollar.

The swastika on those containers is not Nazi it does not point the right direction. Native American or Asian PS all the Mission buildings had to have that symbol or the Native Americans would not go in them I've been in them all over California with that symbol
I notice u always have a positive thing to say. Very refreshing and even heart warming .
