I don't understand this anti-horse girl trend. I'm not a "horse girl" but I've ridden horses and hung out with them a few times. I went on vacation a few years ago and went on a horse ride in the woods and it was very calming. Horses are cool. I don't see what the fuss is about... I will say the bond between a person and a horse is special and unique. Their personality is like a mix of dog and cat. Not super-pleasers like dogs, but not as aloof as cats. You have to have a lot of trust. I had a friend who was THE HORSE GIRL. Like, if our friend group were all pretending to be dogs, she would be a horse-dog. Everything about her was horses. Lol!

The last part was great to hear, I had a tough ride yesterday, and it was good to hear that you have to keep going, all together this convinced me to keep going
When I was younger (around 8) I used to do the galloping on all fours thing cause I was obsessed with horses - wanted to ride a horse, wanted to be a horse etc - but then my arms would get tired so instead I would try to run around on all fours but with my hands and knees, I actually got pretty fast at it, since it's rather hard to "gallop" that way. A month of doing this and my mom literally had to sit me down and forbid me from continuing to do it because I would scrape my knees raw from carpet burn, and even after that, I'd keep going. 😂😂 Evidently, pain is inconsequential, but horses are forever 🤣
I still do that, hands and knees. I got really fast at it, I can do about 10 feet in 4 seconds. 3 strides across my living room (hence the 10 feet) I have to put lotion on my knees just to prevent rug burn. I even put on an English pony saddle with an unbelievably short girth.
@@Anonymous-gr1csye my bad, just outta habit from ending western for so many years lol. And that girth is only about 14-16 in. long, so it doesn't even fit any of my ponies, even Dotty, a mini about 9hh.

I’m 30 years old. I have lived in the Oklahoma Texas area my entire life. I’ve never been horseback riding. When I tell people who live here that they look at me like I’m crazy. I wasn’t even allowed to ride the horses at the fair. I would love to ride a horse. Especially one of those massive police horses they have around here. Those things are big enough that they could probably wrestle a truck and win.
When people want to give your horse treats I think she is over weight and used to be obese so my other friend was picking a fight with me because she gives her treats without asking me and I’m trying to have her keep her weight or lose weight.

Most equestrians that I know of care about their horses' well-being. They work as a team, it is like a symbiotic relationship. I think horse racing is wrong because they are definitely used as objects for money, but most equestrians also have a bond with their horse. 🙂
