    I put my garlic in ground a few days ago during the cold front and I already have some sprouts when I checked on them this afternoon. Very exciting.

    It just occurred to me that what I was told as a kid were wild onions in yhe lawn at my grandparents were much more likely the onions yhey planted in the garden next to that lawn that seeded and scattered in the wind.
    I remember how areas of the lawn smelled like onions and we would pull out some of those immature "wild onions".

      Haha. I have “wild mustard” all over my yard from the blown seeds.

      ...I have been hesitant to do that...but now admit sumptin' has to be done differently: the onion sets that come into our Nursery come from Illinois, and are Way Too Late to plant ...

    Great video 😊. To fertilize them with berrytone, do you unstack the green stalk to evenly spread the granules or just kind of hand rake it in in each pocket?

    • @HomegrownFloridaZ9a
      @HomegrownFloridaZ9a  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hand rake it into each pocket. You could take them apart if you wanted to but that’s a lot of work for me so I really only do that once a year to add compost.

    I bought the shortday sampler from Dixondale as well. This yr I was very dissapointed, the starts were extremely small with little or no roots .
    Yours are actually much bigget than mine.
    Next yr, am starting from seeds next yr .
    For the smaller ones , am growing them as Escallion aka bunching onions .
    The Company Customer service is great , I must add but am not sure what happened this yr.

    My strawberries in the green stalk did really well. Big, red, juicy and delicious until I went t away for 2 weeks. Lots of berries still but some look kinda dry while others just tiny and not very big or red. I planted Everbearing and was hoping they’d produce much longer. Oh well, I only planted 12plants thinking as they provided runners I could plant those in the empty greenstalk pockets. We shall see. How often will you fertilize your strawberries and what will you use?

    • @HomegrownFloridaZ9a
