Anyone who's ever sung in a choir knows how hard it is to get a capella down without sounding forced. The synchronisation and blending is beyond words. I salute you!
I couldn't agree with you more! I sing 1st soprano in my chorus that I've been in for over 10 years. (I think I joined when I was 23.) So I've been in my chorus for about 13 years. However, I've been singing in some type of chorus since I learned how to talk. Singing A Capella is so difficult to do correctly without it sounding forced. These guys did a wonderful job!

Never in my life have I been able to listen to this song because it was played at my father's funeral in 1970 when I was 5 years old. I immediately turn it off whenever I see it anywhere. Well today this mysteriously popped up in my feed. Been thinking about my father a lot lately and wishing I had him here to talk to and love me. It is for times like this that I’m grateful for the internet…. I would not have had this opportunity to hear such angelic voices otherwise! Thank you! 💖
I read about 20 comments and figured since no one else addressed the elephant in the room I would do it. And please, no haters, ok? I mean all of this with all of the respect in my heart for these gentleman and my love for them taking the time to learn the song and do such an amazing job on it. As a 68 year old Black singer, I was a member of the Barbershop Quartet Society for about 15 years. Their style of music has never been very popular among young Black men, so I know something about "singing something different". I just wanted to say how absolutely REFRESHING it was to hear four young very talented Black men singing something classical and doing, as I said earlier, such an amazing job on it. I literally had tears in my eyes listening to this and that rarely happens. I wish we could get more young Black people, men and women, interested in this type of music rather than the rap and hip-hop that in my opinion, has been a major factor in glorifying thug life, street life, and disrespect towards women in the Black community over the last 40 years.
I could not agree with you more, and I think it is wonderful to see these young men singing something so beautifully that seems "out of character"... It should not be that way, and I hope that more young people (black or any other color, race, or creed) will discover the beauty of classical music... One only has to look at East Asians for groups like Bach Collegium Japan or performers like Lang-Lang and others to know how universal western classical music is...
I didn't realize it until i've seen your comment. I mean we are a few black people studying classical music. We are at least... 6, 7 in my conservatory, for all the instruments. But never, and why do I realize it only now, never have I seen a black quartet.
@@raquelgarvin8391 - "Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy" (Luke 1:42-44).
The human voice is, indeed, one of the purest sounds on Earth. By putting their voices together - in harmony - these 4 gentlemen have given us the most tremendous gift. Thank you, young men. ❤
Wow, Wow Wow! I cried when I heard this version of "Ave Maria" more than usual. I was so moved at how these remarkable young black men sang accapella this beautiful song! Their music and vocal expertise and harmony made them sing as angels would sing in heaven. I am sure the ",Blessed Mother" was probably moved to tears of joy as well. I hope these young men continue their singing career singing for God or just because they love it. This is so beautiful that I will share it to my family and friends!❤😊🙏 Thank you so much for this beautiful gift!❤🙏
So beautiful. I close my eyes and see them in that massive cathedral with high arched ceilings, at night, with the snow gently falling outside. Gives me goosebumps to hear them. These gentlemen are ready for Primetime!
I have performed the Schubert Ave Maria in a chorus, small groups, and as a soloist. I have performed it in church, weddings, funerals and as part of mass. I have heard dozens of arrangements and this is hands down the most glorious version. I actually wept becuase of how beautiful it is. What an amazing talent you have!
I'm 80yrs old and have heard that sung countless times. but this rendition was outstanding you all have great voices and your arrangement is superb. thank you for sharing it with us. God speed. ECF
I"m a Catholic who has always favored this hymn. I imagine it being sung in heaven by the angels. It also brings me back to my father in Ireland who always sang it. Your rendition brought me goose bumps. Thank you so much for sharing - you made me very happy. :)
THAT TOUCHED MY SOUL I CRIED...the four of you came from heaven to bless us here on earth...YOU WERE GIFTED...with your saintly voices....THANK YOU for coming to earth to make our WORLD A LITTLE BETTER...
This is the best Ava Maria I have EVER heard and believe these young men deserve to be heard…Can you imagine how this would sound in a cathedral?….absolutely beautiful…
MY GOD...there are angels. They met in a stairwell to sing the Ave Maria. For a few minutes, they gave my soul wings and let it soar toward Heaven. Magnificent!
Perfectly described my experience hearing this as well. I already have it in my "when I'm gone" book that this version is the one to be played at my funeral!
@@justyne8627 Amen! Looking that that may have seemed dark, mea culpa, I've been back at Church a year now after a 35 year detour. God is great, I must let a few more ppl know of the joy only He can give:) God Bless you as well!
I sit here mesmerized and tears in my eyes. I am no less than AMAZED at these voices. These gorgeous young men singing in such unbelievable harmony. Gentlemen, thank you. Thank you. For while you sang, I felt like I was in heaven. Truly. So beautiful. So beautiful. So BEAUTIFUL! Absolute perfection. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
This is the first rendition, in a very long time, that I have heard more than justice done to this sacred and tender song! I am overwhelmed by the talent, simplicity, and beauty that these young masters have contributed to Schubert’s composition. These young men have taken an overplayed classic and given it a newer, fresher, more sincere approach. I could listen to them sing this again and again. If they constructed the arrangement, it is ingenious! They could sing this on top of a landfill and turn it into a cathedral. What a treat and delight to have discovered this video! I’m 64 years old and believe that there are still many beautiful discoveries to be experienced! God bless these musicians and give them the public recognition and respect they deserve. I applaud them for looking back to find that good music can be older, and made more popular by newer talent. Modern music doesn’t have to be a strictly modern composition. I wish them the very best of luck and shall support them whenever or wherever possible.
As a traditional catholic this was the best rendition of the Ave Maria that I’ve ever heard. This is my favorite song that always brings tears to my eye. I always place myself next to Mary turning the Crucifixion. Honoring her great sacrifice of watching Her Son being tortured and but to death for our sins. Pray friends, pray for the world. Thank you so much for sharing your gifts to the world. Absolutely beautiful!! 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
I can’t stop listening to this. I went to Paris and took a day trip to Chartres Cathedral. I played this on my headphones as I walked through the church. Transcendent experience.
So refreshing to see four young men so talented and breaking with the customary expected roles for guys like this. I think most listeners don't know how long it takes to learn to sing in such tight harmonies unless they are singers themselves. I hope they continue as a group create such beauty again. and can
Me either. Normally I bypass videos and come back to them but this one gave me such an amazing feeling that I wanted to hear the song from beginning to end!!!!!!! Love their redention!!!!! 4 men sound like a full blown choir 4 real.
All glory be to God. That was the most beautiful version I've heard, especially coming from a stairwell. 😮 Thank you, young me, for all the time you took practicing. Your voices are amazing...perfect. Thank you for sharing this beautiful praise to Almighty God with us. ❤🙏👏👏👏
And it inspires me to start singing again myself, sung in many churches. So thank you gentlemen, even have been singing with you along abit though I am a woman. :)
How heavenly and beautiful their rendition is!! I am moved to pray, and cry, and sing with them. Hallelujah!Gentlemen, you have opened the gates of Heaven for us to take a listen of Angels singing. God bless you Fine-Men, for sharing your gifts with us.
I hope you all know that the INCREDIBLE thing in this video is not the stairwell, it's you four. You're melting my brain (in a good way) with your talents. I've never heard 4 people sound more like one voice. I also love the way you group-conduct; it's so organic. Special shout-out to the tenor/counter-tenor with the most amazing tone and vibrato. This whole thing is just stunning.
These four gentlemen sound incredible, the stairwell just lets us hear them in all their splendor. I love the coordination and synchronization through their hand gestures. A piece of heaven on earth. Bravo!
When you take their talent, their discipline, and a masterpiece composition, and put them all together, you get excellence of the highest order. That’s what we heard here. This performance didn’t just happen. I can’t even imagine how much they must have prepared to get that sound. Bravo!
4 angels singing! Baritone, tenor, alto and soprano, perfectly harmonized! This was simply BEAUTIFUL! And while not a black man myself. It's SO REFRESHING to hear something like this, than the rap/hip hop. Boyz 2 Men have NOTHING on you 4. The harmonizing was BEYOND ON POINT!! MUCH LOVE AND LIGHT GUYS!!!🥰😁

@@annettemargarit9245 We already exist in many different genres, some people just aren't aware and assume we're limited to only certain styles of music. Have you ever heard Leontyne Price sing? She retired decades ago, but she's one of the most exquisite opera singers to ever grace the Met.

It is for times like this that I’m grateful for the internet…. I would not have had this opportunity to hear such angelic voices otherwise! Thank you! 💖
Amen Sister 🙏🏽
My thoughts, exactly!
AMEN 🙏🏿
💖💖💖
The stairwell may have great acoustics, but the talent of these men is what makes this version phenomenal. Amazing!
My sentiments, exactly. The credit goes to these incredibly talented singers; not the staircase. Absolutely heavenly.
I echo your sentiments. These men are amazing. I am forwarding this to a friend of mine who is a wonderful baritone.
Just like a Concert Grand at Carnegie Hall, the Acoustic means nothing if the Talent is not there to bring it out.....Marvelous Singers
This is why life is worth living.
I’m 67 and that is the most incredible version of Ave Maria I have ever heard. You guys are great and so is your hallway.
I’m 70 & agree
@@samt.1780 I have met & played alongside a New York-originating string quartet of 'African'-American musicians.
It's sad to see what they've become. They won't become interested in classical Western music because they no longer like Europeans.
'Not all, not all, not all, but most.' -JLP🤣😂😂
I pray that Our Lady will bless each of these young men in their lives for honoring her so beautifully!

Hi deematyi how are you doing today 😊❤
This was also mine and my mother's favorite song. These beautiful angels of God sang it beautifully. Please hear more from them.
Wow. Sounds like it's being sung in the most elegant cathedral ever built.
So beautiful. I close my eyes and see them in that massive cathedral with high arched ceilings, at night, with the snow gently falling outside. Gives me goosebumps to hear them. These gentlemen are ready for Primetime!
I love the way they stayed true to most of the piece, but still added their own original harmonies. Lovely!
I am a previous choir person in catholic school and I have never heard the Ave Maria sung so beautifully..thank you for sharing...gave me chills...
My husband died recently. His family is Catholic from Mexico so this prayer is often said in Novina. Thus rendition is very touching. Bravo.
Can you imagine the absolute joy it has brought to this particular building! 💞🥳💖

I sit here mesmerized and tears in my eyes. I am no less than AMAZED at these voices. These gorgeous young men singing in such unbelievable harmony. Gentlemen, thank you. Thank you. For while you sang, I felt like I was in heaven. Truly. So beautiful. So beautiful. So BEAUTIFUL! Absolute perfection. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
Absolutely.😭😢
❤❤
When they started singing it gave me shivers down my spine, what talented young men they are.❤
This is the first rendition, in a very long time, that I have heard more than justice done to this sacred and tender song!
Lindíssima!😢
Lol, uou haven’t heard Pavoritti?

We, the world, have to be aware of it! Amén!!!!
I agree, as a fellow Trad Catholic, this is a truly beautiful and respectful rendition. Thanks guys. More please 😊🙏
I can’t stop listening to this. I went to Paris and took a day trip to Chartres Cathedral. I played this on my headphones as I walked through the church. Transcendent experience.
Beautiful very prayerful and gentle

So refreshing to see four young men so talented and breaking with the customary expected roles for guys like this. I think most listeners don't know how long it takes to learn to sing in such tight harmonies unless they are singers themselves. I hope they continue as a group create such beauty again. and can
Me either. Normally I bypass videos and come back to them but this one gave me such an amazing feeling that I wanted to hear the song from beginning to end!!!!!!! Love their redention!!!!! 4 men sound like a full blown choir 4 real.
That experience sounds fantastic! ❤
This is far the most beautiful rendition of Ave Maria i have ever heard. It's heavenly!
All glory be to God. That was the most beautiful version I've heard, especially coming from a stairwell. 😮 Thank you, young me, for all the time you took practicing. Your voices are amazing...perfect. Thank you for sharing this beautiful praise to Almighty God with us. ❤🙏👏👏👏

I could not have said it better. The stairwell it definitely the smaller factor here. Perfection!
AWESOME!!!!!!

Some of those chords, especially in those acoustics, are as soul shakingly beautiful as the Gregorian chants of old. Amazing talent here.

Yes! They are very reminiscent of Gregorian chants.
