I'm sorry but the towel take was horrible & just goes to show he didn't respect the significance of it in Vancouver. That whole towel movement started in Vancouver & has been apart of Canucks tradition for over 40 years.
Hahaha I get that I just mean that it’s always been a weird vibe in any arena for me in terms of the noise - but I get that it’s tradition in Vancouver, it’s more just a personal preference for me when I’m at a game
Yeah it started with the Canucks coach, Roger Neilson, putting a white towel on the end of a stick to waive the white flag to the referee, so then the crowd started doing it.
While they were first in hockey to really do it, they certainly didn't 'invent' it, it was used by the Steelers for like a decade before that and apparently in basketball since like the 40s You can't say like, you invented it 5th.
@@tonyborean2808 I guess 'the coach copied a thing a basketball coach used to do on the sidelines, so the fans then copied a thing like 30 others teams in multiple sports were doing already' is kind of a history, it's certainly not inventing it. Canucks originated the Towel Power in hockey. There's a statue outside of Rogers Arena of Roger Neilson putting the towel on his stick. it started in the 1980s so it's a pretty solid tradition for the team at this point that they're definitely not getting rid of. Everyone in the city loves it.
@@EnderSword no not stolen . Just look it up for yourself. There is an entire story behind it. It literally nis a hockey exclusive story and 100% had nothing to do with the basketball or football narrative.

Towel Power is our thing! Canucks brought rally towels to the NHL and there is history behind it. We even have a statue of Roger Neilson with the towel on a stick outside the arena. If any NHL team gets to do the rally towels, it's Vancouver
Hey , he who talks without knowledge. The towel originated in Vancouver in the 1982 conference final against the Blackhawks when, after a number of questionable calls, coach Roger Nielson stuck a white towel to the butt end of a stick and waved it at the refs in surrender. The following game all the fans showed up with white towels and history was made. I'm sure if it happened in Toronto you would know this.

I love that bar down never talks about the caps but to shit on them… they sold at the deadline and have about 40% ahl players on the roster and still made the playoffs.
As a caps fan the best we can do is win a game or two. With the injuries we have and the fact that we are the 8 seed I don’t think we can win. That being said, would love to see you at least praise them to make it to the playoffs
I agree, as a Caps fan I feel like 6 games is the maximum, and that’s with a lot of stuff going our way which it just hasn’t been. Making the playoffs was a big achievement given the struggles, but yeah, we’re way worse than the Rangers, everybody knew. At least the Caps got wrecked and it was expected, they aren’t the Leafs that had some hopes and sucked.
right? like we get it, the caps aren’t good right now. but the turn around we’ve made since january is pretty notable. and let’s not forget we were sellers at the deadline
Anderson is a product of the team and its ability to limit chances and play within a system, you could plug almost any serviceable goaltender into that team and they would have good numbers.
I’ll give 10:1 odds that after the leafs get eliminated in round one. 50% of their round two videos will be about the leafs off-season moves. And what Auston Matthews had for breakfast.
Barzel shoots it right into his gut, you gotta capitalize on your chances, your only going to get a few, isles played pretty good, Dobson, gotta bury that.

One thing that Is definitely helping Panarin is the coach change. Lavi has made Panarin work his ass off and got a 120 point season out of him with 49 goals, both career highs.
