I love your tutorials. Showing your color grading settings really helped me lvl up editing. Thank you for sharing these tips
So glad to hear that! Really appreciate it 🙏
You've helped me get over the intimidation of LR. This video helped break it down for me in consumable chunks. Thanks!
So welcome, glad it was helpful! 🙏
Great video!
Love the tutorials!!
I just got a Canon R8. Do you always choose the camera standard profile as a starting point? I found the default Adobe kills a bit the character of the file.
Interesting time line labels ;) Good tut!
😂 thank you for noticing! Hhaha copied form previous vid as you probably guessed!
@@TKNORTH Yeah I thought so :)
Great video man
Thanks my dude!
Great video! How do you get the warm feel on 07:03 when you are not using any oranges in the shadows, midtones, highlights and global?
Love your videos TK! I like playing with color grade tool but it doesn’t matter the photo or the condition I always end up using orange/yellow and blue combo because it’s the “safest” choice for me. Anything else for me looks messy or too “unrealistic”. Any suggestions on how to break free from this approach? :)
Thank you so much dude, glad you enjoy them! I also often go for a similar look in a lot of my edits - so I guess once you find something you really like, there's no harm in creating a consistent look! But even very slight changes here can make a big difference, so even if you're often going for blue, sometimes it might be slightly more towards green in some photos, or yellows slightly more towards orange in others. So I guess if you like that look, just try some subtle changes, see if something works better for each photo!
I also like to play around with the Global one though, even if I keep my shadows and highlights quite consistent! Sometimes adding blue to global, sometimes more of a green, sometimes even a bit of orange, in more of golden scene.
Anyway hope that helps in some way!
Hey mate, new to your videos and really enjoying them! What did you mean by blacks are clipping?
Blacks clipping just means that they become pure black. In some cases it’s not a huge deal if you’re going for a very high-contrast look with deep shadows, or if it’s not an important part of the shot, but it tends to look a bit unnatural, as we rarely see pure black in real life. Within the context of editing in Lightroom, you can check if the blacks in your photos are clipping by holding the alt key (option key on Mac) as you reduce the exposure. If you start to see color appear on the white overlay, it means those areas are clipping. You can use the same technique to see if you have highlights that are getting blown out in the brighter parts of an image as well. Hope this helps 🙂
haha nice teddy bear
Haha have to keep it away from Saké
This is the number reason why i got the fuji x100vi bcas i dont want to edit photos all the time
I don't mind using the recipes here and there. But honestly editing is half the fun sometimes!
prefer 27mm or 35mm for street ?
Full frame terms? I would usually prefer 35mm! 50mm is typically my go to though, so similar to 35mm if talking crop sensor. For me 27mm is that little bit more challenging, so great to practice on!
@@TKNORTH thank you
im new to mirrorless camera.
a couple days ago i bought a used fuji xpro 2 and still thinking what to choose between 27mm or 35mm
Camera manufactures spend billions on sensor research so we could have a very clean ISO 102400! Photographers are like let me add some grain!
