    I have a p250 hse r dynamic, it’s smooth, super quiet and reasonably powerful. With normal driving it’s a joy to use. Only down side is mpg, but apart from that it’s an awesome luxurious vehicle. I have owned a Merc glc and test driven a glb, give me the disco sport all day long.

    Really like the styling of the Disco Sport , especially in orange , it stands out from all the anonymous designs of its rivals that look the same for every model , ideal for families who want a flexible & practical space. Surprisingly , no mention that the Land Rover is easily the best in class off-road , but i guess we know that already !. Reliability needs to get better but there is a big difference between complaints about an infotainment system that is a second too slow to respond & a mechanical breakdown were JLR vehicles are no worse than average , many dependability surveys put Audi & BMW last !.

    The most indecisive auto box I’ve ever had the misfortune to use and by far the most uncomfortable car to drive long distance. I kept it one year then sold it, at a loss obviously but glad to get shot of it.
    I’m all for flying the flag but JLR are going to have to up there game in the (fairly) small SUV market if they want to be competitive.

    Hinting that a 180PS diesel car might be under-powered as it “might struggle a bit if it is full to the gunnels and going up a steep hill” is a bit silly..... that is what gear boxes are for. I drive a 3.5 tonne Boxer van with 110PS and on steep hills... like 1:6.... I put in 2nd gear and it sails up..... or I bash it into 1st....

    so "premium" is not defined by material quality, ride quality, reliability ,...pretty much anything! it just comes down to the price of the car.
    Stop using that ridiculous term, since we already have one - "expensive".

    • @OscarLeeMX
      @OscarLeeMX 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How is it ridiculous? Do you not understand how the car market works? Premium brands are the likes of Mercedes, BMW and Jaguar, which says nothing of the product itself but the badge. It has always been this way.

      It’s no surprise, many hybrids aren’t economical unless you do trips within the capacity of the battery. They are usually little more than a CO2 emissions cheat to get around company car BiK taxation. It’s little wonder that they’ve been added to the UK’s 2032/5 ban.

    • @badboy250984
      @badboy250984 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m actually thinking about the P200 SE. Is the car really that bad? I want a 5+2 from a premium brand. Is either this or the Mercedes GLB. My only problem with the normal petrol GLB is that the engine is 1.3 with only 161bhp but the car is around 300kg light then the disco sport and FWD only.

    • @chrismorris9864
      @chrismorris9864 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Had the car about 7 months now, it does feel premium and is decent to drive, I had a kia sorrento before this and its a step up in quality. Issues are the mpg currently doing 22mpg in economy mode motorway or urban, plus the accelerator pedal is really light and jumpy making it impossible to take off smoothly. If u don't do many miles its not a bad car, but don't expect it to do anywhere near the 33mpg that's advertised.

    • @Jon-zj2nj
      @Jon-zj2nj 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The problem with sunroofs is that the driver’s head is usually under the roof lining surrounding the glass, rather than under the glass itself (as the reviewer’s does in the above video). The roof lining is lower than it would normally be, in order to accommodate the extra support structure (or opening and drainage mechanism) of the sunroof.

      Andy,
      I’ve owned 6 of their cars, currently having clocked up 302,000 miles between them. Two colleagues run XF’s, both with over 100,000 miles showing. One of them bought their XF after having been a lifelong BMWist and having been treated disgracefully by BMW, when the camchain snapped on his 4 year old 520d; he will never return to BMW and he wants to run his XF “forever”! My nephew has now run his XF for over a year and he’s delighted with it. My first Freelander 2 is still with its second owner, at 9 years and nearly 200,000 miles and he won’t be parted with it.
      I read a lot of comments damning JLR reliability on here, usually from people with no direct experience of having owned one, or from those who’ve read those comments and treated them as gospel.
      Please don’t dismiss them based purely on reading unreliable Internet gossip 👍

      Owned both new ones. X3 way way better car as drivers car. Drives better. Better performance and ride. Off road discovery edges but there are better cheaper ones.

    Is there any other SUV similar to this [perhaps subaru] who have the wrist band to unlock the car whilst keys are inside?, that's such a cool feature and a massive selling point for active people.
    Love your vids especially the puns in the Defender vid!!! Lol to you.

    It looks and feels good, but that's perceived quality. It will let you down. I don't know anybody who's owned one who hasn't had problems - the last guy I spoke to who owns a Disco had to have the engine rebuilt. I'll stick to my crummy hard plastic interior Honda thanks.

      @Realist 1801 OMG sorry to hear that. I understand why people would buy one. It's got great presence, is good off road, and has a great elevated driving position, but I've heard several stories like yours .... and the dealers don't help.

      @@kostap6555 You need Q7 to compare to X5 and Discovery. You need to compare Q3 against Evoque. DS is definitely similar size to X3, Q5 and Merc GLB.
