A friend of mine and I saw Clive open for Tommy Emmanuel a few years ago. Couldn't believe he was the opening act. I could have watched Clive play for hours. Amazing talent!
Same here. I just saw the interview w/ Tommy, where he mentions Clive Carroll as being one of the "current" guitarist he admires - I can certainly see why. Mr. Carroll seems very well versed in many acoustic techniques. i'd never heard him before. I like! :)
White inferring a lack of rhythm?? No matter what ethnicity or nationality you are Simon let's not miss your point however the color of the hands clapping is not a factor when spoken through colorblind lips! 🤔🤔🤔
How to stop the audience clapping during your performance : 1. take it RIGHT down, then2. change the beat accent, Gets it done. Clive is a very affable guy, an intelligent musician, and a consummate showman.
How damn can he paly those meaningful blu notes. Many, maybe every guitarist plays the blues. And make us bored. Clive digs into the notes to the poitnt he makes them weep and lights up again the never ending fire of the blues.
My new favorite guitarist! Either he has monster-strong hands or I'd like to know what strings he is using. They look like stretchy rubber bands under his fingers.
You gottan have a souyl as byig as an Oochean to plyaaaay-ay-ay loik thatt. Ha Zhrum-mna ocopalipsilla! Yo ta hoh! Imm sikkla tum mna gong... Way to go, Clive, we remember you as our future friend!
Very good. But suffers from the “amped up” acoustic guitar syndrome. Stefan Grossman version is certainly lighter and flows beautifully.....it is a river after all.
Uh huh. Well, look, this is a great flashy arrangement and performance of MB, but .... now watch a half dozen Tommy Emmanuel videos and then get back to us. ROFL.
Codswallop. If you have heard and seen Clive enough, you will know that the timing is entirely deliberate. You may not like it, but there are lots of references in this to players etc. plus a lot of hound dog and train imitations. Interesting to compare this with Tim Sparks version, even if latter is way too fast.
Playing at the highest level. That's one strong fella bending those chords up superb performance 🔥🔥🔥😎♥️
Wonderful performance...he makes it his own!!!
That's some mighty fine blues playing with a masterful right hand technique. Great dynamics.
Top notch Clive, next on my list to learn and I shall borrow from you heavily, Hutton Drive Residents United🖐🖐🖐
This is more than wonderful Everything including the audience and the venue Bravo and thank you for the inspiration

Just about to learn this iconic tune. Don’t think I’ll start here though. WOW!
I like the way he squeezes those strings!
Even without vocals, a stunning rendition.
Clive is simply worldclass. Damn good performance. Thanks for sharing Carlo. Greetings from Hamburg, Jimmy
Very funky and entertaining version!!

Most probably the greatest acoustic guitarist off all time...
7 years too late but still PMSL !!!! Not even in the top 50 greatest acoustic guitarists of all time ffs.....
fine job of it !!!
Fantastic!
Sweet !!
Bookmarked as "Definitive Version."
Que MARAVILHA.
Blues plus virtuoso - the man can play

nylon
Clive uses Elixir acoustic strings. 0,12. Heavy stuff. He has strong hands and a brilliant technique.
Superlativo...
HOT!
Show Bravo 👏👏👏👏
Bravissimo!!👏👏👏🙏👏👏👏
Anyone know the specs of this Fylde guitar? (woods & scale length)
Bowe guitar.....! Great sounding!
You gottan have a souyl as byig as an Oochean to plyaaaay-ay-ay loik thatt. Ha Zhrum-mna ocopalipsilla! Yo ta hoh! Imm sikkla tum mna gong... Way to go, Clive, we remember you as our future friend!
this is fucking awesome
Good!
nice arrangement transposing from E to A to make it make playable
That syncopation!
Huss & Dalton? Bourgois? Santa Cruz? Collings, can't tell....
aha...Bown! Great guitar!!
A country classic put the wringer .
is this standard tuning?
Yes
try Nick Drake and John Martyn ..then Jon Gomm passionflower ....
Lui è indubbiamente bravo, mentre la platea di intellettuali postmaterialisti fa sorridere
Less is more in this tune . A victory of technique over melodic sensitivity .
Very good. But suffers from the “amped up” acoustic guitar syndrome. Stefan Grossman version is certainly lighter and flows beautifully.....it is a river after all.
You must try singing Or not Ask your mum. Irish
Too flash for my cash
You are fortunate so that you have paid absolutely no money to see this 😅
Clapping so annoying!
Uh huh.
Well, look, this is a great flashy arrangement and performance of MB, but .... now watch a half dozen Tommy Emmanuel videos and then get back to us.
ROFL.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. serious timing issues and some sloppy technique
