Hi, I've been an RN for over seventeen years now and work in a large hospital in the United States. Another reason I'm seeing nurses leaving is safety. Nurses are seeing people a lot of times at their worst, sick or even dying. Consequently, people handle that all types of ways including getting angry, threatening, or even violent! Either the patients or their family members get scared, frustrated, or scared and take it out on the person at the bedside the most, the nurse. I have been yelled at, cursed at, threatened, spit on, kicked, and even sexually assaulted by either a patient or visitor! I still love nursing but it's sad that now I feel I have to worry more about my personal safety working in a hospital nowadays. And the hospitals don't want more security because it costs money and might give customers the wrong impression. I see better security at museums than a hospital with vulnerable people.. Also, it seems to me that people have more of a sense of entitlement, like they can do or say whatever they want. Upper management is more concerned about the patient satisfaction scores and money than anything else. It's sad but I try and do the best I can with what I have. Stay well! ; ) 💕
I agree with you and it is sad to see this happening. I hope things can change in healthcare, it needs to! Smh! It sounds like you do a great job so I thank you for not giving up on nursing and your patients!❤️
@@NurseLaly Your welcome! 😊 Luckily, where I work our nurses have a union which I am actively involved in. We are slowly making improvements with the help of our union but it's still an ongoing process. Thanks for making this video and thank you for what you do too! Hang in there too! 🙏 💕
I really enjoyed this video! You made a lot of great points and I totally agree with you👍🏿! My mom just started working as an RN and I hope she finds that role more fulfilling 🙏🏿. Thanks so much for sharing❤️!
Thanks for watching!! Nursing is a rewarding and exciting career!! Certain situations and toxic environment can disturb that fact 😊 hope your mom enjoy her new role I’m sure she will!! ❤️✨
Seriously… it’s about the money… and to a degree… I understand it, not getting sued and providing the best care is always a priority… but it’s impossible to do these days with the current protocols based on how doctors and hospitals can profit most… the Analytic staffing these days are making the majority of care dangerous because most companies staff to the bare bones and call in afterward in order to justify staffing procedures via Medicare or network to get paid… it’s so sad and everyone who’s being honest knows it…
Wow 😍😍. I’m delighted 💃💃I can’t even explain. I just passed my exams. It’s my 3 attempt💃 God is the greatest.❤️ y’all can make it. You just need to focus and change up your strategy😍. I could assist you if your needing a few tips too💃
Do you know any other reasons why nurses are quitting healthcare???
