I'm truly happy having been able to fulfill my figure skating career as Yuzuru Hanyu, with the power of everyone's support I have made the decision to continue skating as a Pro athlete. From now on, I won't be able to compared with other skaters as a competitor, however, I want to keep skating... I want to continue to do my best, I will work even harder, please continue to support me...
First of all, I don't have the intention of participating in competitions. I think I have achieved everything that I need to achieve (in terms of records & medals) so in a sense, I no longer seek to be judged (scored) anymore, that's how I've come to this decision. I already thought about retiring after P C... when I was 16 17, I was asked, what would you do if you win 2 consecutive OGM, and I said, I'll start from there...
I thought that I'll become a Pro athlete after winning 2 consecutive OGM, but there was 4A, and also, I didn't win 4CC yet, I wanted to win those things, so I continued until BJ, But now my mindset is like, it's ok if I didn't land 4A in the competition, I can pursue it outside competition. When I was a competitor, the exposure was limited, but now I want to show my skating in a way that fits the current era...
I want to continue doing ice shows that make ppl think, this is something I want to watch. I thought about becoming Pro after every competition after P C. I think of it as a positive thing, I feel like it's a new beginning and I want to move onto the new stage of my life. It's pretty strange that in figure skating, only competitors are considered active, but I feel that I've made a new start...
Most important thing now is how I will show my skills, and how hard I will keep working... after P C I thought about many other things like, if I was putting my efforts in wrong direction... as a result, I made my final decision after BJ when I returned back. After thinking a lot, I thought I don't need to stay on (competitive) stage forever, I want to be better and stronger, I want to be on the stage where my efforts will be conveyed to you all even more...
I can say that with certainty that I will not miss the 10 sion of competitions, and also, I don't want ppl to think like, ''oh, he's no longer competing, so he can relax'' rather, I want to make ppl and myself even more ner/vs :) Oly is a precious place where I secured my 2 consecutive victories, and even tho I didn't succeed in my (4A challenge) at BJ, I was happy to pursue my (4A dream) at BJ...
@@rayssadantas2280 I have just found a video about how he was constantly given bad GOE scores to the level when several judges gave 4-5 and one or two gave 0 (!) and 1 to the same perfectly executed element in his performance. I suddenly understand why he said he doesn't seek to be evaluated anymore. But the future can bring changes and he's still only 27. He's so strong he can do whatever he wants. If he decides to go back in 8 years he can still do it. But for now I wish him a full recovery because fearing from injury every time he jumps, and performing on strong painkillers so he can endure(!) the amount of pain during the performance is unacceptable. When I read that I felt really uncomfortable. I understand the weight of these events but... 🥺 Also his performance in 2014 after he got so seriously injured... I can't find my words. He is a true HERO.
@@moma-b i know exactly which video you're talking about bc i got so pissed watching it and i'm so SO happy he's retiring and taking some time to rest after giving his youth and his entire life to skating. at the same time i feel sad that figure skating is losing it's most precious and talented skater. the ISU did him so wrong all these years so i'm happy that he is not competing anymore but the sport will never have anyone like him again. also i'm glad he loves the ice so much bc i know we will keep seeing him on FaOI making magical performances. i just wish him the best at all times and that all his dreams come true. he changed my life forever and i'm so so so grateful for him, i hope he is the happiest right now.

The way they treated him after this competition... hurt him, humiliate him, force him to quit and retire, I'm glad he got rid of I$U and doing great as a Pro athlete. I$U/J$F never deserved him.

Que buena cachetada para la isu, cuando lo vi moverse al ritmo de balada no.1 Chopin, exploté de alegría infinita.

Нюансы в музыкальной ткани и её акценты, пиано ли звучит, иль форте слышим в ней ... как тонко отмечает Yuzu все моменты, катаясь в лирике то мягко-плавно, то в экспрессии сильней. Он обладатель слуха абсолютного, но и в спортивных технологиях он спец. Нет ему равных в стиле, в артистизме обоюдного, -по всем параметрам Yuzuru, - эталонный образец ! ... 🎼✨🎶☀🎶✨🎼
Quick question, who’s the old japanese man with Yuzu? Am very curious about every single person that contributed to his growth as a skater. I always see him with Yuzu’s in his competition videos but he’s never mentioned. Is he family or a representative from the JSF?

His name is Akira Kikuchi, a bodywork therapist and he used to be Yuzu's personal trainer.
