That's not a tall straddle. We drive the 'one over three' that's a 4 high container machine at my port. It's a skill that takes some time to master. You're a long climb up the ladder. Think we're somewhere over 15m in the cab. Good fun .
I know its been a while, but I thought I could answer. Cranes and empty containers are effected more easily, so they usually shut down a container terminal before the straddles are affected.
