I have had my scan n cut for almost a year. Opened box, made sample, haven’t used it since. Went to use it today, needed to come back and watch this video. Thank you Maymay, this really helped!
I’ve got the very basic model but for stamp cutting it’s a game changer I love it my cricut makers is my favourite go to but what a perfect companion the brother scan and cut makes ❤
So happy that you made a video with your stamped images 🤓, thank you for always showing us the best and not so great parts of the different products and machines. It shows you genuinely care about your subscribers/customers.💌
Thank you for this video May May, I bought a Cricut 3 years ago and it is still sitting on my shelf, I have never even plugged it in. Then I bought the exact same Scan and Cut more than a year ago that you are using in the video and have never plugged it in either. I bought the Scan and Cut because of using it to cut stamped images. After watching how easy you made this look I am going to get the Scan and Cut out this evening and give it a try. Thank you so much for this video, it really has helped boost my confidence with using this machine!
I used my SnC to cut some images from Beary Special this weekend. Colored them with my alcohol markers. Made a stinkin' cute little Valentine's card for my granddaughter.
Oh, any tutorials you could show would be greatly appreciated. I'm not knocking other people that shows tutorial's, it's just that you make it so that I understand it. Thanks
Thank you so much. I have one of these that I got a year ago Christmas and I’ve only used it twice. I really appreciate your teaching me how to use it.
Great tutorial. Yes, more Scan n Cut videos. I’d like to see how to use svg cut files. I have a 350 machine so a few on the 350 would be helpful (saving for an upgrade 😉)
Same! I have had mine about a year and just unboxed and made the test gift box thing about a month ago. Definitely want to use it more and this gives me hope lol
I have THIS scan n cut. It's only been used 2 times, but, that's another story. I Love it. I draw. I can scan my own art, and cut all of my Own Original stuff. I Have dies. My gosh. 3 years collecting a specific kit... where are they- all over, unorganized- Loved, But, many unused yet. Had to stop buying, get reorganized, and get my stuff together. I haven't made Any projects, unless it was a foodie thing, in about 6 months... it's bugging me
Thank you for sharing this :) I have been looking at this machine for a long time and you show how easy it is and your honest about what you have experienced with this machine. I’ll be watching all of these videos:) can you show how you re glue the mat? Ty:)
I love the short & sweet video with the scan and cut... I’m sill on the fence if i “need” one or not. Would love to see the finished product of what you did with the pieces you cut. :)
Hi Maymay, I love my cm350 machine, I have had it for 18 months, got a per loved one, it is great for stamps images, shapes of any kind, and I've cut contacted vinyl (book covering) for projects it does a great job with that, looking forwards to you next video with the SNC. TFS, Cheers Anna.
I have the 350 and had problems when I first used it and it’s been sitting on the desk ever since. I really need to get it out and use it. Thanks for giving me the incentive to get it out and practice. Thanks for sharing ! Looking forward to more videos.
I'm looking to get the scan n cut DX. Thanks for showing how to use it with stamps. Would you be able to show us how to use the SVG files. I have years worth of your stamps and not a fan of fussy cutting. TIA
I am very intrigued by this machine. I do not yet have a lot of dies, and I think I have one or two sets of matching stamps and dies (both given to me). I am not a very good fussy cutter, and some of the stamps I want to cut are very intricate and I would like to layer them but for the fussy cutting. I really appreciate this demo. I am one step closer to purchasing one. Now to determine which model. Did you do more videos on these cutters? I would definitely be willing to learn more.
I have mat loading issues too. How do you work around the problem? I love these Scan n Cut videos. Please do some on importing designs. Thanks so much.
Thank you for another great video.. You explain in such great detail.. I am going to get my Scan n cut out and figure it out.. I am loving the Scan N Cut videos.. Thank you for all you do....
Just got a DX last week; tried on Mintay Flora book- cut a lot of my flowers wonky (cutting off stems, cutting parts of petals off, etc) but I didn’t outline as thought they were bright enough colors to be picked up but will try that next time... not a huge fan of the offset when set at .04 but definitely liked it better than no offset as that really cut into the printed images... think I just need more practice and play time with it 🙂
Thanks for sharing Maymay! Would love to see how you add the Zig glue to your mat as I haven't had to reglue my mat for my SNC yet, but would love to see how you do it! Thank you :)
This is a great video. I was debating about getting one but just wanted to see how to use it with stamped images, so this was perfect, simple, to the point and super easy to understand. I do have a question though, where did you get that ring? Is it hematite?
Love your walk thru of using the machines! It makes it less intimidating. Could you do a questions asked about machine video? In particular, how do you remedy when scan n cut doesn’t recognize an image? Thanks!
Hi Maymay! Santa brought me a Scan n Cut DX225F for Christmas and I love it! I have learned how to upload SVGs so far. The only issue/complaint I have is the mat is not very sticky. Thanks so much for the idea of using washi tape! I would also like to see a tutorial on all of the other icons. Thanks so much for everything you do!
Get some zig 2 way glue, it makes your mat just right and doesn't cause a big mess. www.maymaymadeit.com/products/zig-2-way-glue-pen?_pos=1&_sid=b71092bd7&_ss=r
MayMay thank you so much for showing us how to use stuff, I love how you do instructions. I have a couple of questions about the scan and cut. First, I bought a new mat for my scan in cut and it doesn’t recognize it for some reason. It’s a scan in cut brand, any suggestions? Also, when I cut my images, they cut out jaggedly, do you know why? Thanks again for all you do!!
So if all the Scan -N-Cuts...which would you recommend? I have really bad arthritis in my hands and need help cutting. I don't want to give up crafting and I think would help me a lot. Thank you for sharing your tips and tricks.
You should purchase the newest model that you can afford. Choose one that is the most current and does what you want it to do. The DX's are the newest. Also, Brother has a comparison page on their site to make it super easy. Thanks
Thank you so much for showing this. I hadn't used my scan n cut for awhile, and when loading my mat it said (mat not recognized). Any suggestions of what I can try to fix it? Also, didn't know we could use SVG on the scan n cut. Do you have a video on how to do it? Thanks
Make sure the marks it needs to recognize are cleaned and visible. Mine wore off one of my mats and it wouldn't recognize it. It was perfectly good in every other way.
Unfortunately I don’t use this machine for anything but scanning any cutting. I use my Cricut for all my vinyl work. I find the software much easier to use and more user friendly than the scan n cut software.
Thank you for this. Can this “depth blade” be used on older machines. I have the first model that came out. Love my machine and have used it since it first came on market.’yes expensive...but oh so worth it!❤️
Maymay, you said you have a problem with your DX loading the mat sometimes. I have that problem almost every time. It has gotten so that I just let it sit there and haven't used it, although I would love to use it for lots of things. Do you, or anyone else, have any suggestions to help with this problem?
They are two completely different machines. Be sure to watch this video to hopefully help you make a decisions. th-cam.com/video/AGYPZZmThIY/w-d-xo.html
Reading the comments makes me so sad. I'd love to have a SNC and so many have them and are afraid to use. I used to do tons of fussy cutting but having lost my depth perception it's too frustrating now. I need to find the proverbial money tree and then I'm set. Until I find that tree, keep the videos coming and I'll dream/lust after a DX. You bring much joy and comfort to so many of us. Thank you to all of you and to the Made It family.
Hi, a SVG is a scalable vector graphic, which is a fancy way of saying a digital cutting file that you use on electronic cutting machines to but out images/patterns
Hmmm..interesting. If the average die set is about $35 and the machine is $399.99 plus tax, it would pay for itself in about 12 co-ordinating die sets and have many other options besides. Not sure my old brain could figure out how to use it. Maymay makes it look easy.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you are an amazing teacher I love love love your videos.
Thank You May May for explaining this in a quick, easy and to the point way 😊. So many other videos on TH-cam are dragged out, too long and confusing.
I have had my scan n cut for almost a year. Opened box, made sample, haven’t used it since. Went to use it today, needed to come back and watch this video. Thank you Maymay, this really helped!
Thank You for this video! My Scan N Cut has never been used because I am afraid of it!! HAHA!! But now maybe after 3 years I will give it a try!
I might actually get mine out to try this!
I researched cutting machines for 2 years and bought the DX. I love it! Please do video on the icons like, fill in. Would love it! Thank you
Thank you maymay. Scan-n-cut tutorials are very welcomed here.
So glad you are doing scan n cut videos again
I just picked this machine up from a friend and so glad to find step by step instructions on how to use it! Thank you bunches!
Thank you! I have the CM350 and I had never thought of tracing the sentiments to cut them together!
That is a very cool machine. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful day. 🌴☀️🌸

LOVE the electric machine videos! Thank you!! You explain each step which is very helpful...another reason why you are such a GREAT teacher!
Thank you again for the scan n cut videos! I am getting the itch to get that baby back out of the box! 😉
Like it, MayMay. Please keep them coming.
A little hack for the mat to feed better. Swipe the places on the mat where the wheels grab it with an Emory board. Lightly to the edges.

I am so glad you are explaining this machine, it gives me new reason to use it more (and I am learning so much about it). Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for the tutorial on the ScanNCut! You are the best at giving clear, concise instructions!
Thank you for all the tips and information! I have been wanting a scan-n- cut, but I want to make sure I will use it enough to get my money's worth.
I used my SnC to cut some images from Beary Special this weekend. Colored them with my alcohol markers. Made a stinkin' cute little Valentine's card for my granddaughter.
Love to see you are having more content on your scan n cut. Would like to see how to up load svg to the scan n cut.

I love my scan in cut. I have deQuernes disease in my right hand. Fussy cutting hurts. This machine makes cutting out painless!

Oh boyyyyyy! I never even knew these existed! I cut a LOT of very detailed stamped images. Thank you very much : )
I had figured out how to do the shapes, svg files, scanned images, but not the sentiments. -- Thank You. -- so much for this video!!!!
I didn't mean to mark out the "thank you" I meant to emphasize it!!! Thank you!!!!!!
I really need to get unafraid of my SNC, and use it! LOL I've had it for a year.
I love this video. I have this machine and so many stamps. Thank you for sharing on how to use it.
Thanks so much for the new videos with the Scan N Cut! They’re very helpful and reminding me to make use of my machine. 😊
Thank you ! I would like to invest in one.
I have a Brother Scan-n-cut that I’ve used once. Things like this give me incentive to try and use it more.

Thanks for such an understandable tutorial.
Thanks.,I have the other Scan N Cut and don't use it much but I will now that I am learning more about it.
Ok just watched this again, Nope have not tried my DX yet! I am closer!! Thanks MayMay!!! HAHA!!

Thanks Maymay. Hugs and blessings.

Thank you for this video! You convinced me to purchase this scan n cut.😊
I use to have problems with my mat loading but Brother came out with an upgrade that fixed that problem.
I am using my upgraded mat and I have my machine completely up to date and it still does it. I get around it but it still happens sometimes.
I totally want one of these! Thanks again for an informative video.
Thank you May May I haven’t used my s& c yet ! You make look so easy !
Don't own any type of machine-aided cutter, yet. Useful general info to file in the old noggin for my "someday", though. Thanks!!👌❤️
Great tutorial! Now I have to buy one of these. I love it even more seeing it in action. You explain in great detail! Thank you!
