Interesting approach to rotational gameplay. My rules are more loose, I just have about 30 families and some know each other, some don’t. Things ebb and flow. Each family is the MC while I am playing them so I basically have family goals for that family. Things like going to school or having same age children in the same clubs usually leads to the community building between all the folks in the rotation. Actively using events has helped me build community. I play aging off per round with the exception of the ONE age up family where I play a week with aging on for everyone and work with whatever that changes. Much like life, I am allowed to not make ‘goal’. I have some exception rules because of how Discover University works and a mod to force all my Sims into High School together.
This is exactly how I play mine. My first every created family is the one I use to turn aging/and npc aging on. I have enough holiday seasons on the calendar, so I don't mind if one family, for example, misses their Winter Fest. When I get to their turn, it may be Love Day. I used to mind missing milestones like aging up for some sims, but it makes the game more fun because it's a nice surprise to see the changes. Also, since a lot of my families are connected and know each other, they end up showing up in the world. If I want to add to the storyline, I may use the Control Any Sim mod to play whoever I want at that moment.
No rules (anymore lol), no timelines. I just play who I want, when I want, and for as long as I want. The only time I play through is when a Sim is pregnant, I let them have the baby. Also, when a Sim is in university. I let them finish the term before moving to a new family.
Thanks! 💛 I like the way you use events and clubs to build community. I want to give my households more reasons to mingle too. I imagine festivals could lend themselves well to build community since they have a local vibe. What kind of events do you like use to get Sims to connect?
@yellowllamacoIts usually the events of life. Like is a birthday coming, have a birthday party. Is it winterfest, don’t just keep it to the household invite over the extended family for a dinner party close to if not on the holiday. Use vacation days and take non-household members along. And while I do use control any sim and MCCC for some perimeters, I also embrace the parts of the story that happen that I didn’t plan. That’s the fun part.
Really fun events, thanks for sharing. 😊 I love it when the game keeps me on my feet too. Some of my favorite stories came from the game throwing a wrench in my plans. 😂
I usually play with 1 household per save file, and if I play with 2 or more households per save file, I think my mind is going to explode.
Then I ditch the entire save file . . . and just create a brand-new one.
Very relatable. 😅 The change of scenery is fun when jumping into a new household but it can take a good minute to mentally switch gears between storylines running in parallel. Sometimes it's easier to just start a new save file for a new household or story idea.
omg i love that you take notes on you sims too, i use obsidian to keep a wiki of sorts of my sims :p
Yay, Sims notetakers represent! 🙌🏾 It's nice how notes are connected in Obsidian. If you can stay away from the temptation to get all of the plugins its great for a more minimalistic setup. 😊
similarly doing a rotational inter-connected save file and i loved seeing your process!
Thank you! 💛How are you connecting your Sims in your save file? 😊
@ of course! a lot of the households are extended family to one my mains! some households are independent of any connection to keep things interesting, and create familiar faces for me to recognize in public! i did something similar where other families are friends to my main sims, but i also took time to write each household a backstory! i did this so i can play them both independently of each other as well as having big group gatherings of friends + family ⭐️
That's so nice, it's exactly how I hope my save file will 'play' like once I get things going. 😊
since the landgraab are a tycoon/magnat family it would be cool if they own the house where keith lives and he kinda rents it for them
Thank you for the great idea! 💛 I had to delete my original reply to your comment cause it was a spoiler for the next part of their journey. 😅 Your idea has sparked the solution to a problem I was stuck on. Thank you so much! Can't wait to spill the beans in the next video. 🤭
Love The Idea 💕 That What I'm Trying To Do As Well..
That's great! It's so much more fun when the households feel connected in some way. 😊
@yellowllamaco Yes It Does!!! 😊
Great Video 🩷
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching. 💛

What’s the map mod
I found the map on Reddit, made by Strangest Sea. It's not a mod unfortunately but that would be so cool! 👉🏾 www.reddit.com/r/Sims4/comments/1f9ncnr/i_made_a_sims_4_world_map/
