This is one of those classic AH minecraft videos where they were in their peak period in 2013. Back when AH were just unbelievable, I truly miss those days, so much nostalgia.
I can just imagine that conversation... Gavin:"We're going to play a game 'bout dots 'n' lines today,Michael," Michael:"Okay,so...how do I play?" Gavin:"Iss dots 'n' lines!" Michael:"OKAY,HOW DO I FRICKEN PLAY?" Gavin:"DOTS 'N' LINES!" Michael:"WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!"
+Riptyde Gaming164 Michael: Yea so, what are the rules? Gavin: You make lines Michael: Just lines? Gavin: Dots 'n' lines -Conversation continues- Michael*choking Gav* HOW DO YOU PLAY?! Gave: Dots 'n' lines!
he would of made the square and gone there anyway hence he went there after and i think geoff (flying cameraman) knew this hence didnt bring it up, its pretty clear at that point what the player would do and just "clean up"
No he didn't create the square though. When Gavin messed up they didn't talk about it. And you can even see Ryan looked at the square looking confused whether or not he put his redstone. But he already did so he should have lost.
Hilariously, it's actually Gavin who cheated - or at the very least, heavily benefited from somebody else's cheating - and there's considerable evidence suggesting that he edited the video to help cover it up. At 11:55, in the middle of Geoff's turn, there is a critically important open space in the upper left corner between Ryan and Micheal's blocks. This same space has mysteriously been filled between it's 11:55 appearance and the next time it is visible at 12:24 (lower left corner, at the bottom of the "observation tower"), all during Geoff's turn, while Geoff himself was otherwise engaged. After a few confusing cuts and edits. Mr. Free then proceeds to "discover" the resulting smorgasbord of points during his go at 12:40, the turn which - conveniently - immediately followed Geoff's. Owing to the video's choppy editing, we can see only that, during the time-frame in which 'the mystery play' occurred, Micheal is following Geoff around like a puppy, Geoff is focused on filling his newly acquired zone, and that Ryan is in the vicinity of the cobblestone barrier, and presumably the observation tower and 'the mystery play' based on the direction he enters the shot from at 12:20. Ray is visible after the cut at 12:24 at the opposite end of the cobblestone barrier from where Ryan was in the previous shot, also in position to possibly have been responsible for 'the mystery play' during the time in question. Noticeably absent from the footage between 11:55 and 12:24 is Gavino Free's avatar. Those are the facts, indisputable based on the video available above. The following is mere conjecture; Ray clearly had given up on the game at that point and/or otherwise had little interest in winning based on his (lack of) commentary, dicking around in a boat instead of analyzing the board with his spare time, and the move he handed Geoff at 11:40. The video all but entirely absolves Michael and Geoff himself. That leaves Ryan and Gavin as the only ones in the right place with possible motives for cheating. Gavino Free is a known habitual, intentional cheater, while Ryan - who may be guilty of occasional creepiness and sounding like Jack - has no such reputation. In fact, Ryan is the most likely AH to engage in what is colloquially known as 'rules lawyering'; ensuring that the rules are clearly outlined and consistent, and that all players strictly adhere to them at all times. Furthermore, since Geoff's turn was ongoing while 'the mystery play' occurred - and it was thus possible that Geoff himself discover it and play on it immediately - Ryan was the second-to-last person capable of taking advantage of 'the mystery play', chronologically speaking, with Ray being last. It would therefore have been uncharacteristically foolish of Ryan to cheat in such a way, given that three other players could have robbed him of the gambit's benefits before he got to capitalize on it, ultimately rendering such skullduggery a likely liability. Gavin, on the other hand, would be next after Geoff, who was distracted with his own big play - an ideal 'opportunity' for that sort of cheating. Now listen again to Geoff questioning Gavin at 18:22. That wasn't solely a friendly accusation between old pals: Geoff KNEW what Gavin had done. There's not really any knowing whether he actually saw Gavin cheat, or if he merely noticed the discrepancy caused by 'the mystery play' and surmised that there was no way that he had just, as Micheal puts it at 12:41, "miss[ed] all that". Gavin fanbois and girls, your 'lovable idiot' is actually a slick little fucker. Personally, I'm okay with that - what's NOT cool is projecting onto the other, more upstanding players like Ryan when they make honest mistakes and labeling them cheaters when you root for the slimiest SOB in the bunch. Go back to wherever other Slytherin and Oakland Raiders fans hang out on the internet. Decent people don't want to read your bullshit accusations and whinging when your guy constantly gets his shit pushed in because he's too busy trying to get away with cheating to cultivate any actual skill. I wonder if there's a way we can convince them to release an uncut version of the game from each player's perspective?
Just to add to this masterpiece, a possible clincher: At 12:14 Ray asks Gavin whether he has any points yet. He then follows this up with 'I mean, I know your secret thing is gonna work out'. Guilty laugh from Gavin...
To the Wounds! Excellent catch!! Amazing how that exchange transformed from meaningless and confusing banter into something far more insidious with just a little context. I must admit, I'm a little disappointed that Ray seems to have been 'in' on Gavin's sleaze - he was my favorite AH before he started sandbagging so that the other guys could win a few games.
Nana Bons Gaming he did. he placed an open block (like Gavin did and they all corrected him on it) then went back before anyone noticed and filled it in.
Watching this in 2017... I may or may not be going back and watching pretty much all their videos because I have just recently became a fan a couple months or so ago XD
I'm so late and this comment won't matter, but Ryan cheated at the end. If you look at the moment he placed his extra line he missed. and most likely many people pointed that out when the video came out.
+Knightblade490 It doesnt matter at all, he didnt cheat in any way at all, since it was the last turn, he just rushed a bit too much and placed it in the wrong order
Everyone who thinks Ryan cheated, Gavin tried to place a block behind him, and he messed up, every other time someone messed up they gave them the chance to redo their move, so he would've won anyways. Not that it matters who wins.
LMFAO when everyone asked what Gavin was wearing i thought they meant irl I was deeply deserted for a couple of seconds before I saw they meant on minecraft.
Ryan didn't cheat... If u could possibly see, ryan could place a redstone line but Gavin placed his block of wool on Ryan's square so he had to break tht block:/
You can make a board that resets at the push of a button; the redstone gets pistons under them and wool dispensers of fire charges (sadly only pc has down facing dispensers ).
Actually yes you are the only one, cause all the comments about that specific time in which "he" screwed up on this video are all in your head. lol Just having fun, no hate. Enjoy the AH crew.
Even if someone were to be a dick and call him out as they were rapping up... Ryan would have felt bad and Ray still would not have won. This is why they are liked by many people.. they aren't assholes.. people that say they cheat, try and call them out, and say they would call it out if they were playing the game with them aren't liked, and aren't playing the game with them for a reason (They're nobodies). #RyanKnowsBest
At 16:59, Ryan made a mistake that ended his turn but he kept going! It shows a block of 2 and he made that using his free play, then he went an extra extra turn to fill it in! Ryan pulled a Gavin move and messed it up for himself but kept playing.
Gavin should have won with 29, not 28 Ryan continued his game after he messed it up for himself and he took one of Gavin's squares so he should have only had 26 Geoff in 3rd with 22 Micheal in 4th with 20 And brownman ( Ray ) with 15
Cool trick in this game: If you are at the point where there are only multiple "combos" that can be made, and you are making yours, get almost all the way to the end, and then skip a line and leave two blocks that can be completed with one line. That way, the only option your opponent has is to take the two blocks and start the next combo for you (two player only).
By that logic the game began when the video began so whenever Geoff is explaining a lets play/things to do to everyone Gavin can just get a head start because he knows what they're doing, it doesn't work like that, the game starts when it starts not when the video starts and the game ends when it ends not when the video ends.
16:50 Everyone look at the way Ryan puts down the redstone. He puts one down that technically would have ended his turn in the middle of that, because it doesn't complete a square. He then adds another one (illegally) which allows him to complete the move.
I have a suggestion for a 'Things to Do'. My brother and I have taken to making enormous glass block mazes and challenging others to beat them. It's surprisingly difficult; especially at night.
I'll phrase it differently; I don't think Ryan 'wasn't paying attention'. I think Ryan looked at his turn as a whole and thought, 'Okay, if I place these blocks in order, I can get the whole rest of this space.' Knowing this, he didn't care that much about the specific clicks; he was just filling in the space. Its analogous to a game of Monopoly, where one moves their piece directly to the square they belong on instead of moving it up and down many times; he merely skipped the boring part.
You should do a version of this, where it's be like connect 4, and they can palce either gold or obsidian on the sand and you can make a tower of pimps
So I was playing on a server the other day, and my friend spawns in the plains and goes; "Why is this sheep pink?" And I went to look, and sure enough there were like...10 pink sheep. And I wanted to flail and be like "I FOUND A RARE OCCURRENCE, GEOFF!"
"Its dots and lines"
"Well how do you play?"
"Its dots and lines!"
This is why Gavin is my favorite
That's why Gavin isn't my favorite
I hate both you and him.
@@VTGN-II your opinion is wrong
I mean, he’s not wrong. It *is* dots and lines
Ray: "This game really favors being last...
And Puerto Rican..."

100% underrated comment.

Michael: Yea so, what are the rules?
Gavin: You make lines
Michael: Just lines?
Gavin: Dots 'n' lines
-Conversation continues-
Michael*choking Gav* HOW DO YOU PLAY?!
Gave: Dots 'n' lines!
For all those who said Ryan didn't cheat he did. He placed another one at 17:13 even though he didn't make another square. The one at 16:55 was legal.
he would of made the square and gone there anyway hence he went there after and i think geoff (flying cameraman) knew this hence didnt bring it up, its pretty clear at that point what the player would do and just "clean up"
No he didn't create the square though. When Gavin messed up they didn't talk about it. And you can even see Ryan looked at the square looking confused whether or not he put his redstone. But he already did so he should have lost.
TrayDawg93 nobody questions when gavin messes up.
dip shit they all knew that was how it was going so there not going to call him out cause he misplaced
Olen Brown Dude this comment is old, if you didn't agree you didn't have to respawn. Dumbass
At first I thought Geoff was too drunk and called this video "let's to do", but then I realized I'm too drunk.
Pyro Maniac hope you sobered up
Is it bad that I want to see this as a full on let's play, where they finish the rest of the board?
I don't think Ryan would've misplaced his line if Gavin wasn't fucking around.
Hilariously, it's actually Gavin who cheated - or at the very least, heavily benefited from somebody else's cheating - and there's considerable evidence suggesting that he edited the video to help cover it up.

That was well put. Not exactly succinct, but it definitely got your point across.
Wow, looking back on the video from 12:41 certainly makes one look at things in a different light.
Just to add to this masterpiece, a possible clincher: At 12:14 Ray asks Gavin whether he has any points yet. He then follows this up with 'I mean, I know your secret thing is gonna work out'. Guilty laugh from Gavin...

wow who fucking cares really... He didn't even win is it that big of a deal?
After three years I return to this video so that i finally can say that I've seen every Minecraft related Let's play/Things to do..
Can you still say it now?
Chris Ghensi No.
I have some cathing up to do. But it's not much. :)
but have you seen the unreleased videos?
idk why but this is really relaxing to watch
I can't believe that i've never seen this one before. I've seen this in so many let's plays and never knew what it was. Amazing!
Should've punched holes in the ground and filled those with the wool instaed of placing them on top, so the wool doesn't cover the view of the lines
+lCaKeSl "And I could have don it in 3 less red stone." -Jack Pattillo, sometime in the past
They should not cause they can't tell who is winning
The end result looks like Helen Keller tried to make the American flag
Lol Gavin was so happy. XD
i could have done it in 5 less red-stone. hire me.
Over a year later people are still arguing about Ryan cheating -_-
+Matt Coupe He cheated.
lol
Nana Bons Gaming he did. he placed an open block (like Gavin did and they all corrected him on it) then went back before anyone noticed and filled it in.
This has a new meaning now
oof
They should do this again, and use the entire board
Ryans first video. I just found out... I am literally dizzy laying down in my bed. I have felt the need to vomit for the last hours.
Geoff's counting was almost accurate! lol
Imagine counting that if you had used the whole board.
holy shit i just now noticed that Jack is missing...lol
***** lol
No they are not.
It's called Dots and Boxes
Watching this in 2017... I may or may not be going back and watching pretty much all their videos because I have just recently became a fan a couple months or so ago XD
Ryan owes michael. gave him this one lol
I am colorblind and I could see no difference between green and yellow
I'm so late and this comment won't matter, but Ryan cheated at the end. If you look at the moment he placed his extra line he missed. and most likely many people pointed that out when the video came out.
+Knightblade490 It doesnt matter at all, he didnt cheat in any way at all, since it was the last turn, he just rushed a bit too much and placed it in the wrong order
+Honax if by that logic Gavin would've gotten away with it earlier in the video since he did the exact same thing
+jonathan champion no because gavin kept his there
+Knightblade490 No, he erred. It was Gavin who intentionally, mendaciously cheated in this game between 11:55 and 12:24.
It would be cool to see them revisit this as a full 6 person Let's Play, but with the full board, or and even bigger board.
Everyone who thinks Ryan cheated, Gavin tried to place a block behind him, and he messed up, every other time someone messed up they gave them the chance to redo their move, so he would've won anyways. Not that it matters who wins.
Ryan cheated! Gavin should've won this game! He would've won with 28 while Ryan had 26. He fucked up at 17:00.
He fucked up because gavin placed his wool in the spot, he still won
If Ryan didn't fuck it up at 17:00, him and Gavin would have tied which is unfair because he cheated and none of them noticed...
Gavin cheated by puting his block down which caused Ryan to fuck up in the first place.
LMFAO when everyone asked what Gavin was wearing i thought they meant irl I was deeply deserted for a couple of seconds before I saw they meant on minecraft.
now just add swords and death and you get DOTS AND LINES X!!.... :D lol i want to see that now!!
This is the worst redstone circuit I've ever seen
+skulblaka saiyan hahaha
i could've done it with 6 less redstone
Ryan didn't cheat... If u could possibly see, ryan could place a redstone line but Gavin placed his block of wool on Ryan's square so he had to break tht block:/
You can make a board that resets at the push of a button; the redstone gets pistons under them and wool dispensers of fire charges (sadly only pc has down facing dispensers ).
am i the only one who noticed he screwed up at 17:00?
No.
Actually yes you are the only one, cause all the comments about that specific time in which "he" screwed up on this video are all in your head. lol Just having fun, no hate. Enjoy the AH crew.
He didn't, he just went ahead, he would have gotten all of them anyway.
yes, he went ahead, that's screwing up in this game.
-N_I_G_E_L- He would have gotten it anyway, they didn't say going ahead was against the rules.
17:00 there's ryan's cheating. The piece he places leaves an open 2 blocks, but without filling one in. He would have given the rest to ray.
No. You're wrong. Leave.
Even if he had of placed that line he missed then he would have been able to continue, but thanks for playing.
No, you are incorrect. Look at the video, you can clearly see it. I'm staring at it right now at 16:59
ShatterPalm Who cares Ryan won even without the two and ray would of only had about 10 or 11.
Well, everyone's talking about it, I thought I'd try to find where it is. And I have found it. Ergo my quest is complete.
It was cause Gavin was fucking around and put wool in his way.
Lol when gavin went "nutteeeeeen"
when michael asked him what he was doing, that was cute
gavin should of won because at the end ryan cheated!! :O
when I posted this I knew I'd get done as a gav fan girl goddammit I was just stating a fact
no one cares
Ugh I could have done this with like 50 less redstone....
Ryan's a cheater! he messed up at the end so ray should've got a bunch!
Joshua Reese Actually Ryan would have not received 8 and therefore would have tied gavin
"doushe,doushe,doushe,doushe,doushe,doushe,.....bag" xD
GAVIN CHEATED!!!!!!!
who caressssssssssssssssss its just a game everyone shut up
At 16:59, Ryan made a mistake that ended his turn but he kept going! It shows a block of 2 and he made that using his free play, then he went an extra extra turn to fill it in! Ryan pulled a Gavin move and messed it up for himself but kept playing.
Gavin should have won with 29, not 28
Ryan continued his game after he messed it up for himself and he took one of Gavin's squares so he should have only had 26
Geoff in 3rd with 22
Micheal in 4th with 20
And brownman ( Ray ) with 15
Zachary Brandt
Who cares this was years ago
I like how they gave Ray, or 'Brownman', the brown wool.
I don't regret watching this whole video.
"who goes first?". " We go in turns, is goes me then you, then back to me , then you, then me, me again, you me me you then me again."
Wow. This was my first ah video ever. 2 whole years ago I never even heard of them.
HAHAAHA Micheal when he made an voice expression of gavin
Exactly. XD
Especially from Geoff's Perspective, how could he not have seen that? XD
By that logic the game began when the video began so whenever Geoff is explaining a lets play/things to do to everyone Gavin can just get a head start because he knows what they're doing, it doesn't work like that, the game starts when it starts not when the video starts and the game ends when it ends not when the video ends.
Anyone else notice this is obviously filmed after King Ray as Ryan is wearing his armor he had, and references the "clever girl."
you guys inspire me so much
Good Guy Ray: Has only 2 blocks; helps Gavin get on the board
16:50 Everyone look at the way Ryan puts down the redstone. He puts one down that technically would have ended his turn in the middle of that, because it doesn't complete a square. He then adds another one (illegally) which allows him to complete the move.
i love how everyone just started singing
I like how every time someone plays this it looks like a maze at some point
Did anyone see the lats play ryan placed redstone on the wrong spotin 16:50 to 17:00mins. So ray would have had 7 more blocks
I wanna see a full Lets Play of this
I had no clue how to play this game and I thought it was going to be boring... Now I really want to play this
I used to play that all the time in third grade. And I love how Gavin is just putting down lines so Michael can win.
I taught my students this game (the paper version) and they went crraaaazzy. Who knew Korean kids were missing out so much on playing Dots?
Something they could do is make a Achievement City museum, for all the neat things from old episodes in there world, like the boat from episode 9.
Gavin laced an extra block on his last move
I used to play this in my math class. Teacher vs students. Inside each box was a number such as a positive or negative
when geoff said "geoff your red"
lol
Bonus points if you make the bottom of the map from redstone torches with the sand on top.
GLOWS
Geoff has an unfair advantage. He can fly up and see the whole board developing.
Didn't even realize Jack wasn't in this until the Let's Build
"Two for gavin , two for flinching " am I the only one who got that ?
I have a suggestion for a 'Things to Do'. My brother and I have taken to making enormous glass block mazes and challenging others to beat them. It's surprisingly difficult; especially at night.
14:30 ray should actually have 2 bonus moves because he made two boxes with one redstone.
Dude wow this was a fun game back in the childhood great idea geoff
I'll phrase it differently; I don't think Ryan 'wasn't paying attention'. I think Ryan looked at his turn as a whole and thought, 'Okay, if I place these blocks in order, I can get the whole rest of this space.' Knowing this, he didn't care that much about the specific clicks; he was just filling in the space.
Its analogous to a game of Monopoly, where one moves their piece directly to the square they belong on instead of moving it up and down many times; he merely skipped the boring part.
17:19 look at all the blue, it looks like a thumbs up or getting flipped off
Gavin's boxes ended up looking like an arm and hand giving a Thumbs Up.
LOVE THIS!!
yup haha i saw that too, accidentally placed a line that ended his turn but placed a block on it anyways 16:58
I wonder when they'll release a Box Game X, where they play with the other two-thirds of the board?
"yyyooouuuu PPHHuuukkkk" xD
You should do a version of this, where it's be like connect 4, and they can palce either gold or obsidian on the sand and you can make a tower of pimps
They are brilliant
I was waiting for someone to make this :3
I love this game
Gavin is such a troll in this hahaha
anytime Gavin or other people say Gavin is NOT a piece of shit, just needs to watch this video
Im glad that I wasnt the only person who saw ryan misplace that redstone.
They should've used the whole board and turned this into a Let's Play for the Tower of Pimps.
"I didn't do wrong that time, I did good."
it's called paddocks dammit! lol
can anyone tell me what episode gavin burnt down the library the AH group found in the dungeon?
I loved this game
I just noticed Geoff's sign says "Goeff' in this things to do/let's play as well
So I was playing on a server the other day, and my friend spawns in the plains and goes; "Why is this sheep pink?" And I went to look, and sure enough there were like...10 pink sheep. And I wanted to flail and be like "I FOUND A RARE OCCURRENCE, GEOFF!"
CONNECT THE DOTS GOD DAMN XD
this game is game is so fun am not saying because I played it but because I saw you guys play it.
Geoff had the advantage of seeing the board from atop
