Hey Zeltik, this is just something to think about, but if you look at all of the misconceptions for Breath of the Wild 2, they all work for Age of Calamity. Zelda will be playable, it could be darker than Majora's mask, and that Breath of the Wild 2 will be a prequel. Anyway, this was just a fun detail that I noticed about Age of Calamity and Breath of the Wild 2. Love the videos!
@@porterwayman8643 Those aren't misconceptions, except for maybe the last one. Zelda being playable is just something that everyone wants, not a misconception. And Eiji Aonuma said that we could expect BotW2 to be extremely dark, "in some ways more than Majora's Mask". He was talking about BotW2 specifically as well and we know this because he was asked about that game specifically right after its E3 2019 reveal.
@Brennon Beecher Because pretty much everything that can be milked put of the BotW2 teser has already been milked. Nintendo isn't giving anything to work with and pretty much any theory you make now will probably step on the toes of another theory already on TH-cam.
I think (and want) that we will see the death of the King of Hyrule, and his body being buried in the place his tomb is in Breath of the Wild. I also wish to see how the hole in Hebra Mountain was made, for example by the shooting of a Divine Beast.... or maybe by a giant Guardian (which design was already made for Breath of the Wild, but unused).
@@kidwuulf5692 Revali would make a good Kaz. After losing his arm, leg and eyesight anyway, but I can see him saying the same kind of things in the same tryhard pissed way.
Something I would just love to see is a cutscene of how Link becomes Zelda's appointed knight. When he deflected the beam from a malfunctioning guardian with a pot lid he found on the ground.
If the shield parrying system is in this game (which I think it is judging by how flurry strikes are returning as seen when Urbosa fights off the Yiga Clan in slow motion) that scene could make for a nice little tutorial on how to deflect guardian beams. Regardless I do hope they do something different with guardians. You couldn’t just attack them with weapons in BOTW, so I hope at least they do something like they’re invulnerable to everything except weak point gauge strikes.
Same here, Hyrule Warriors fan. Imagine seeing Linkle wanting to help, only for her to get lost and ending somewhere else, like in Termina. "Hmmm, I don't see Hyrule castle but why that moon is so big...?"
It’s almost like the story is sadistic lol. We know the champions die and the war is lost, but we’re going in to feel the hurt again, perhaps on a larger scale! Go ahead, AoC, make me cry!
This will be Zelda's version of the Sacrifice scene from the Berzerk Anime. Where all the main characters that we have come to love, die a violent bewildering death and there is absolutely nothing anyone can do to save them. Even though we know they die already.
Im hoping theres an ‘explore mode’ or something like that. Maybe the areas you fought in are areas you are to visit again to explore when you have completed the game or something, or another option in the main menu. I want to be able to explore castle town, the castle and other unruined areas and villages without having to fight but just to look around how it was before it became rubble and ruin. I know this is unlikely but im still keeping my fingers crossed!
Na, we can't go back after game completion, it had to be traveling from area to area to protect it from ambush. And always arriving before monsters, at that point would be the exploring, and easter eggs maybe people hiding preparing for whats coming. I think the game should take play in a day, so that when you defend all towns you think you've won. And then the first blood moon occurres and everything you've done in so many towns becomes undone and you can't go back to save those you've met along the path.
I get the feeling a lot of Zelda fans have been thinking almost the same things since Age of Calamity was revealed. A restored Castle Town and Hyrule Castle especially have been things I think we've all wanted to see for a while!
I want more background on Link. I always found it odd that all the memories you find in BOTW were all about Zelda and her journey. Link deserves so much more than just 'the silent protagonist who lost his memories'. I want to know about his family, what he was like before becoming Zelda's protector, what his personality was like before he was forced to become this silent martyr.
Since botw 2s announcement I always assumed that the fortune teller probably was right and they dig in the wrong place. When she said underground she meant literally underground; like go find ganondorf under there and stop the calamity from its source
@@gothsloth I was moreso thinking her visions only gave her the idea of looking underground. In my opinion if botw 2 starts with Zelda having a vision in a dream or something which causes them to go down under the castle then I feel like it'd almost definitely be Zelda's mom who said to go underground first, if of course it isn't confirmed in the new hyrule warriors
@@billyboy4400 you know how to hype the sequel? I would love it if they bridge the gap to the sequel with game ending with Zelda jolting awake: the whole Age of Calamity was her dreaming. Remembering all of it. The details Zelda eventually forgot over time... It all comes crashing back. It renews her urgency to look for that which is still underground. It eventually reveals her new haircut or something. Or the blood moon rising, to her horror
I hope we're able to see more of the relationship between Impa and Zelda. I've always been interested as to how she looked before the calamity. Honestly I can't wait to see the Champions' final battles as well, even though...you know. Great video 👌
I keep thinking about the "Dungeon Music SOS" theory (I think you covered it at one point), where the music in every Divine Beast eventually plays a Morse code SOS and how it may relate to the Champions being defeated. Maybe we'll get to see that play out, and if so, Revali's downfall is going to be the one I'm most interested in. The SOS comes very late in Vah Medoh's theme compared to the others, and is much more urgent in sound, implying that Revali held off the corruption the longest, but when he fell, he was panicked and desperate.
One thing I hope to see is a mission where Link is having to protect Zelda from the corrupted guardians, and after tearing through guardian after guardian, Link is overwhelmed. The Master Sword takes damage, Link gets wounded, and yet the player still has to keep fighting a hopeless fight.
I'd love something where you have a set objective(i.e. "kill [x] guardians" or "Protect Zelda") for the first half of the mission, but the rest is basically a Zelda version of Halo: Reach's "Lone Wolf" mission(the origin of the "Objective: Survive" meme).
@@mewtron5242 Yes, like that. But Link and Zelda are on the run and being pursued, the atmosphere is somber and melancholic, and the guardians just keep coming. Basically, the leadup to the final memory.
@@Dr.Pootis I've never played Halo, but yeah; a mission where Link and Zelda are just trying to survive as they're being pursued and overwhelmed, and Link is protecting Zelda. That would be great.
I would also like the final stage where you play as Zelda with her overpowered godess moveset and it's at Hyrule Castle and it's just her but she's so OP it wouldn't matter and imagine if the Hyrule Castle March theme was playing
I can actually envision the Divine Beasts acting like the Great fairy moments from the original Hyrule Warriors, triggered events that do massive damage to enemy forces or altering the battle field
Knowing the game design of Hyrule warriors, the divine beasts will most likely be support weapon/ cutscene weapon that fires on a powerful boss and the enemy army , or an objective we will have to activate. Edit: welp that was completely wrong
I don’t think so because since the divine beasts are weapons they’ll most likely be just there for show pretty much, only in a cutscene when your army needs assistance they’ll wipe out most of the enemy army like in previous hyrule warriors games
I hope that, as Link gets worn down fighting hordes and hordes of enemies, you can feel Links exhaustion in the gameplay, as he gets more sluggish and staggers occasionally, until you eventually have no choice but to loose. I feel like this would represent the actual events nicer than "hey, you won, but I‘ll show you a cutscene in which you lost anyway."
Kinda like ori, typo man, and little nightmares? Depending on events, the characters will slow down and stumble and what-not. Typo man makes both the character sluggish and the screen go off kilter when he's been stabbed (I presume mimicking the idea that he's been poisoned). I can see them making the sword weaken in each level. Getting more chipped and stained with malice on its blade (it's not rust) as you advance. Each guardian taking longer to destroy because you're getting weaker. I think the best way is have you face a hoard of guardians. You still "win" in that you managed keep Zelda from being shot dead and defeated the last wave - I have a feeling that'll be a criteria - but that's the end of link's campaign. The final memory from botw will play out; in fact I think all the memories from botw are probably going to be in aoc (dlc ones are a maybe)
This isn’t that literal. But a different take. We still don’t know anything about this ganondorf or if he was inherently evil or if he’s separated from the mindless evil beast we see or why he was ruthlessly held in a state of agony or what any of the backstory is. I like to imagine the script, flipped, though it’s unlikely. :)
I want the Divine Beasts to be taken control of *in the middle* of us playing as them. Shifting between Ganon's control and ours, alternating between damaging enemies and destroying allies. I think it would be an amazing way to depict the struggle for and subsequent loss of control.
You nailed it with your description of what “a dark story” should be. The story here should be similar to the vibe of Rogue One or Episode III in the Star Wars movies almost. These were stories where the bad guys essentially won, but the thread of hope endured. That’s the story of the Age of Calamity. Heroes standing up and continuing on, even when all hope seemed lost.
Initially I was struggling to picture a large roster of playable characters, and how the ending would be handled, but diving back into Definitive edition I remembered there are missions where you play as Ganon or other villains, and actually fight the heroes. So I'm going to assume that's how the tail end of the story mode will play out. Outside of Ganon, they'd likely be original characters, but he must have had trusted allies of some sort so it works.
That was a wonderful explanation there at the end about the tone of Breath of the Wild. I hope your (and mine as well as many others') wish comes true and the game is as dark as it deserves to be.
2 things i would love to see. 1. Actual attention to the Hylian races battle strategies and civilian evacuation plans to make this feel like an actual war. 2. Link's final battle at Fort Hateno playing out like the end of Halo Reach. Have him face off against wave after wave of ultra difficult enemies until he is eventually overwhelmed, and Zelda powers awaken.
Unless that's an optional segment that you can play outside of the main story, not sure I'd finish the game in that case. I can work with a tragic ending that can't be avoided. But I probably draw the line at actively killing the main characters myself.
So, after watching the video, I came up with a few very-not-so-short ideas on how to make botw's kind of underwhelming final boss(dark beast ganon, not calamity) better(in my opinion). TL;DR: Honestly, if I tried to do this, it would probably just turn out being a SS;SDR(Slightly Shorter, Still Didn't Read). So, this will serve rather as a warning. This comment is *_long._* As in "longer than the 'divine beasts attack ganon'" cutscene. 1. Make it Harder: In the base game, Ganon, although massive and intimidating, is kind of a slouch. Sure, his beam may do quite a bit of damage, but he's so slow that you're not likely to actually get hit by it. One part of this is his turning. He turns fairly quickly, but never when firing, so that by the time he is facing you and firing his laser, you're arealdy to the side of him. He also never moves, which is another issue. Make him run around, make him charge you like the massive rage pig he is. Make him try and crush you underfoot. In addition Zelda, clearly weakened from a literal century of holding back the apocalypse, would take longer to create weak points in Ganon's armor, and would only be able to create 1-2 at a time, rather than 3 for the first two rounds. These ideas tie into my next point, which would allow the game to take full advantage of Ganon's now-advanced mobility. 2. An Open Fight for an Open World: With Ganon moving around a lot more than before, the walled-in area of Hyrule Field would begin to feel rather small. To alleviate this, I propose removing Zelda's magic boundaries from the area, and allowing the fight to be contained solely by Hyrule's natural barriers(Mountains, Lakes, Etc.), or, at least expand the pre-existing barriers to include the majority of the Central Hyrule region. Although the fight would likely never make it's way to any of the main settlements of the game, the same would likely not apply to some of the smaller npc groups of the region. For instance, as Ganon approaches a stable, the former residents of said stable could be seen escaping on their horses before thier former home is reduced to ash. This truly-open fight would also open up some new opportunities, which will be detailed in the next point. 3. A Kingdom (Somewhat) Reunited: After hearing of Link's heroism from thier race's "representative"(Riju, Teeba, Sidon, etc.), each group would journey to the spot where thier "territory" meets Central Hyrule to provide support to the hero, whether it be out of respect, or a feeling of debt. For instance, getting too close to the Eldin reigon may lead to seeing a firing squad of Goron cannons open up on Ganon from some elevated area, with Boss and Yunobo manning the lead cannon personally. The Sheikah however, would take a indirect approach, providing Link with various healing items to keep him in the fight. The attacks from the other races would deal next-to-no damage, but would make the fight feel more active and "alive," take the heat off you for a little bit, and decrease the time it takes for Zelda to create her weak points, as Ganon's attention would be fully occupied on wiping out the new opposition. Speaking of that, if you linger too long, Ganon will force the friendly forces to retreat from the fight, allowing Ganon to re-focus his attention back on you, and on keeping Zelda from comprising his armor. However, there would be one more factor to add to the fight... 4. Divine Support: The reason for me making this post in the first place, playable divine beasts being mentioned in the video made me think, "What if the beasts actually did stuff in the dbg fight?," and this unholy concept was born. Anyway, the Divine Beasts would also take a more active role in the battle, occasionally firing on Ganon with a weaker, but faster recharging beam. The Champions would essentially be in "fire at will" mode at this point, so they would no longer fire at once. Each individual beam woild do anywhere from 1/20 to 1/35 of his health, and a beam would strike Ganon about every minute and a half, but would also stun him for 10-15 seconds, allowing you to get in range to take a shot, or to allow Zelda to create a weak point. All in all, if you actually took the time to read this absolute monster of a comment in it's entirety, Thank You. Any (constructive) criticism is welcomed, and if you have any ideas of your own, feel free to share them.
Those are some good ideas, & it would've been nice to have that as a final battle instead, because it would make it feel more like an actual final battle...but since that wasn't implemented, maybe the team is saving that kind of battle for when we'll fight the actual Ganon, in BotW2...At least I *hope* they'll think of this elaborate of a final battle plan.
I think the whole reason behind the lackluster fight was because, Dark Beast Ganon is literally a desperation moment. You defeated Ganon in the chambers, but he wasn't quite defeated. In a desperate moment, it thinks to unleash it's hatred and become gigantic, giving up everything to just show how strong he is. Anyone else may have been scared. "How do I take on such a beast?". Unfortunately, Link's unbreakable courage, and Zelda's sacred powers, are no match for such a desperate attempt to create fear itself. So while it's underwhelming, it's only because of our unbreaking courage, and our will to defeat this evil, at whatever cost. Could it have been more cinematic or climactic? Yeah. But I believe they didn't want the final fight to be something to always look forward to. Instead, spend as much time in the Wilds as possible, and enjoy the wilds. Amnesia the Dark Descent is not a "hard" game by any stretch, and if you focus just on beating it, you're not playing it as intended by the devs. They literally put a disclaimer saying "Don't play this game to beat it. Play it to experience the game". I think that's what Nintendo wanted here, was for us to experience the Wilds and exploration, rather than simply fighting and taking on the final boss...
@@Xyler94 this is along the lines of a comment I made on another video. Dark Beast Ganon is Calamity Ganon's last gasp, and Link/the players know this, but *no one else does*. DB Ganon is *massive*, easily at least the size of the castle and thus, like the castle, able to be seen for miles. From an outside perspective, such as almost any NPC, (all but maybe a dozen people, half of which are *ghosts*) only know that the divine beasts were causing trouble, then they stopped, them 'randomly' fired lasers towards the castle, and a few minutes later the thing that nearly destroyed Hyrule 100 years ago is stomping around setting the earth on fire. They don't know he's already on his last legs and desperate, they think it's the actual end of the goddamn world with no miracle to save them again....until suddenly a miniature sun comes out of nowhere and straight up deletes him and every other bit of malice in the land.
I don't know if it's commented or not yet, but I'd love to see more of Link's apparent family in the game. Link joined knighthood after his father, and I'm pretty sure there's some scrapped ideas involving Link having a dad and sister, with some concept art and all. I've always been a sucker for Link having a family since Wind Waker, so I hope we see something like that here in the prequel.
If you follow their routes after splitting up on the day of the calamity, Daruk actually passes right by the citadel on his way to Vah Rudania. When you also include the guardian in the background of his Hinox fight, I’m inclined to believe that gameplay is from the last stand.
For the exploration side, rediscovering hyrule castle for example, maybe we can have a sort of hub, where we explore the castle, and go to certain places or certain people to start a mission. This goes for other places too, of course.
I hope to see new characters, specially villains to fight with. One thing that I will love to see is a battle against Skulltulas at Lanayru Promenade. This place was known as Spider's nest in the past, so it is an excellent opportunity to see that in action
Love this! One location I've always been drawn to...the collapsed tunnel that leads up/into The Great Plateau. Was this tunnel collapsed/filled/flooded to protect The Temple of Time!? Was it collapsed by the 2 Sheikah as/after they placed Link in the Tomb of Resurrection to protect him!? Imagine playing as the two Sheikah that took Link to the Shrine of Resurrection: You place him in the Shrine…then fight off Guardians that have already made it to the Plateau. You make your way down to the gate/tunnel and realize you are outnumbered/overrun….so you self-sacrifice and blow up the tunnel leading up/into the Plateau!!!
For what it's worth, some Warriors games DO have hubs you can run around in. Maybe it would be more related to the Free Mode or any other kind of special mode they'd have, but maybe we could still get to run around at least a segment of Castle Town or something! (While not in combat, at least).
I actually think it's very possible to have an explorable hubworld in Age of Calamity rather than the menus of Hyrule Warriors as this is something that was featured both in Dragon Quest Heroes and Persona 5 Scrambled, two Musou games made in between this game and the original Hyrule Warriors. The team has expressed a desire to design a more Zelda like game so it's possible that an extension of that would be to implement an explorable hubworld. I for one would really like to see that for Castle Town or maybe the castle itself (up until the calamity hit).
I’d love to see castle town, along with Zora’s Domain, Gerudo Town and the Goron settlement as some sort of hub where you can buy upgrades and select different items for you character loadouts, it would make the game more immersive!
In other Koei Tecmo games like Attack on Titan you can walk through a part of the city besides the main gameplay. You could say that its like a hideout where you prepare for the battles. Upgrade your weapons, spend your money etc. I would like that to be the case with a part of Hyrule Castle or the town. Running around with Link and the others in the town would be so awesome ^^
I don;t think we'll be playing as the divine beasts themselves, but I remember that in some of the Warriors games you could activate environmental things. to cause floods, disrupt enemies, etc
I think that according to the gameplay features that have been confirmed, there may be some areas that can be exploited in "non combating" scenes that will allow you to craft items and so on. So yes, there is a chance we will be able to freely explore Castle Town.
As neat as playable divine beasts would be, I think they would operate similarly to how the Great Fairy did in HW. Something like; Objective- Get Mipha to Divine Beast Vah Ruta. And when you do she commands it in a cutscene to wipe out large swaths of enemies. I think I'm mostly interested in who the enemy generals will be. We had Volga and Wizro in HW, who will it be in AoC? Maybe we'll get Yiga generals this time.
Wants from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity! 1st) It'd be awesome if we could see or learn more about how the ancient Sheikah built the Guardians, Devine Beasts, Sheikah Towers, and Shrines and how they used them to defeat Calamity Ganon 10,000 years ago! 2nd) I would LOVE to see when and how the Royal Family received the prophecy for Calamity Ganon's return and then how they went about locating and excavating the Divine Beasts, Guardians, the Sheikah Slate, and the shrines.
I think the Divine Beasts will be like multi-kill perks. If you perform enough combos you call to call down support from a nearby Divine Beast. Then at the end of the game, they get taken over and the champions meet their doom.
I’m just excited for the overall expansion on the past of Breath of the Wild! We have only seen small glimpses of an inevitable end and I can’t wait to experience it. Also who’s replaying breath of the wild for the 100th time in hype for this game?!
Intro music still gets me amped even after however many of your videos I’ve watched. Definitely some magic to a good sonic ID!! Anyway, really looking forward to your upcoming BOTW and BOTW2 theory videos after HWAOC comes out. Keep up the good work!!
What I would want? 5. A good story (it's low on my list since I'm confident they'll do it justice what with the Zelda team being there.) 4. More playable characters beyond Link, Zelda, and the Champions (like Impa and maybe guest characters) 3. Dual Audio 2. Bonus Content / Post-Game content beyond Free Play etc. 1. For the love of god, let Materials be automatically picked up like in Fire Emblem Warriors. All that aside, I agree with your list! I personally don't care much for playable Divine Beasts, but I ain't gonna say no if it happens. As for playable characters, Impa is a safe bet and I'd love to see even original characters; some people in the comments brought up some good points. A playable Yiga leader? Other Sheikah? Maybe Linkle who might just be Link's actual sister in this game? I'm not saying the roster needs to be huge, but a good handful more and a villain or two would be cool since we had playable villains in the last HW game. Oh well. Keep up the good work! These videos will help make October and November pass by faster, haha!
While non combat exploration isn't normally in Warriors games, Persona 5 Scramble does have between battle overworld exploration. The Persona 5 devs specifically asked to incorporate more aspects of Persona 5 into the game and KT worked with them to make that happe. With this entry being a closer collaboration between the Zelda team and KT, I can see that happening since they even said they wanted to break the mold like BotW did. Another thing is that the reason the reason HW followed the Warriors formula so much was that Miyamoto specifically requested it. KT actually wanted the game to be more like Zelda. Since this game is a direct prequel to BotW and KT proved themselves with HW, it would make sense if they were to fulfill that original idea and make a more fusion like game for this entry.
I keep seeing people bring things up like Link not having the Shekah Slate but using the Remote Bombs as a reason for the game not being canon. But there are characters that use Rune abilities without the slate. In particular are Maz Koshia and Master Kohga who each use abilities that we can only do via the slate. While this reasoning doesn't really apply to Link himself, they have shown it isn't necessarily a requirement.
Hyrule Warriors is my number one favorite guilty pleasure game. It's just so much mindless fun. A great way to unplug. This game was a very welcome surprise for me
Your first wish is actually very similar to a hope I have for BotW2. I'd love to see some base-building elements. It was sort of explored in BotW, with the sidequest to build an entirely new town, but I'd love to see that expanded, where you can build sanctuaries for Hyrule residents all over the map and customize what buildings look like, where they are placed, and what their functions are.
Maybe it's too much to hope for, but if they're going to the trouble of modeling some of the towns and villages anyway, maybe they could have some limited exploration of them as a way of adding more flavor to the menus. Like, instead of just upgrading stats or training party members from a menu like in the original Hyrule Warriors, there would be shops and dojos in the towns you could walk to between campaign stages. That'd be a cool way to appreciate Castle Town and stuff like it in a way that wouldn't need to mess with gameplay too much or force the creation of a ton of new assets.
The way this game would be perfect is if they made it a travel story. Where you arrive at locations before the enemies make there's way to towns and spots that are now in ruins. Upon our arrival as the player, it would be sick if they gave us time to exisit peacefully in these areas and sort of camp out for a bit meanwhile locals prepare and hide and solder's ready up. This would let us explore a bit of lore and appreciate pre ruin areas and load up on Easter eggs from past fan service and the botw as well as hints about botw2, and then once we begin the ambush then it's game time and the story moves forward.
I hope the final mission for each champion goes like a last stand worthy of their title, hordes of corrupted enemies spawning inside their devine beast nonestop, then sudently silence... and the ganon scourge comes in, a boss battle plays out and we slowly realize this is an impossible battle. But we loose after surviving all those hordes and making great damage to the scourge. It would be a nice ending to the champions last stand
Not realy. We never acually see that happening. Its only told in storys, and frankly ther still things that are darker. The moment when Hyrule was fludded for example. Heck that was WORSE then the Calamaty. After the Calamaty you can rebuild Hyrule. But the Hyrule from that timline is gone forever. And imagine how it was for the poeple living in Hyrule! Seeing ther home being consumed by the waves of the see, seeing ewrithing they hold deer destroyed and lost forever.
What if playing out the siege of Akkala Citadel is like a survival challenge? Slowly you’re allies cannot assist you and slowly the enemies grow stronger you’re goal is to set a personal record for how long you can last
The gameplay of Warriors fits so well to tell the story of the Calamity and I get so excited. I want the champions to die, I want the divine beasts to be taken over, I want the final moment of Zelda with Link down and unable to continue. This can be achieved for sure while still making it a game with a great start. Being able to give the champions more fleshing out even will be awesome. I am sitting here wanting to play Urbosa so bad.
WAAAAAIT imagine if we could control the divine beasts in the story mode BUT at a uncertain moment they are taken over by ganon AND we had to fight a blight of the divine beast with the champion of the divine beast! (ex: we fight windblight with Revali)
About the fortune teller thing, the fact that Hyrule dug up some guardians wasn't the deciding factor in Ganon controlling them. Most of them poured out of the pillars that Ganon rose from underground. That most likely would have happened regardless of Hyrule knowing about them and Ganon's return.
We might see small glimpses about them but I doubt it since their main focus will be on the sheikah tech and Ganon. Botw 2 we might see what the deal with the zonai was!

Hey Zeltik, this is just something to think about, but if you look at all of the misconceptions for Breath of the Wild 2, they all work for Age of Calamity. Anyway, this was just a fun detail that I noticed about Age of Calamity and Breath of the Wild 2. Love the videos!

Something I would just love to see is a cutscene of how Link becomes Zelda's appointed knight. When he deflected the beam from a malfunctioning guardian with a pot lid he found on the ground.
I bet it'll be one of the first cutscenes in the game lol
If the shield parrying system is in this game (which I think it is judging by how flurry strikes are returning as seen when Urbosa fights off the Yiga Clan in slow motion) that scene could make for a nice little tutorial on how to deflect guardian beams.
Regardless I do hope they do something different with guardians. You couldn’t just attack them with weapons in BOTW, so I hope at least they do something like they’re invulnerable to everything except weak point gauge strikes.
Might be a turorial

As a -rabid- fan of Hyrule Warriors, this announcement has been the news of the year for me gaming wise!
Same here, Hyrule Warriors fan. Imagine seeing Linkle wanting to help, only for her to get lost and ending somewhere else, like in Termina. "Hmmm, I don't see Hyrule castle but why that moon is so big...?"
3
I haven't played the first game, but the opportunity to play something new and botw-related is impossible to pass up.
d- did you mean avid?
Dr. Pootis same
It’s almost like the story is sadistic lol. We know the champions die and the war is lost, but we’re going in to feel the hurt again, perhaps on a larger scale! Go ahead, AoC, make me cry!
Gonna cry?
Piss your pants maybe?
Why’d you guys leave me with the lyrics with the swear word?
oh, look at Little Goblin Junior!
This will be Zelda's version of the Sacrifice scene from the Berzerk Anime. Where all the main characters that we have come to love, die a violent bewildering death and there is absolutely nothing anyone can do to save them. Even though we know they die already.
I know you mean it in an excited way, but the Way you Said and i Quote: “i want to See the Champions Die” just sounded so hilariously brutal
ikr i laughed out loud at that line 😂
i cant w a i t to cry

I hope we get more lore about the yiga clan, and maybe even the fortune teller. Though, that seems unlikely.
Dude, how little do you think will be in the game?
I could see the Yiga being first lead by Ghirahim, if only because they were red like his cloak and serve Ganon
@@aaronolson6736 Ghirahim is probably long dead unless he's now Ganondorf's Trident.
I think they show Urbosa fighting yiga clan members so id say more yiga lore could be likley
Me too! That would be cool
That's a great idea and I would love that too!/
Agreed!
And the explore is where were inviting the champions to be the champions, this would be good
Yes explore mode would be amazing
Totally agree 👍. I need more of his story. I personally don't want him to talk, but somehow know more about his personal life with his family
Yeah, we need to have a story for link.
100% agree
Maybe even see his family too

"Playable divine beasts"
Nintendo direct mini of October 2020: "well, well, well, you called it!"
Since botw 2s announcement I always assumed that the fortune teller probably was right and they dig in the wrong place. When she said underground she meant literally underground; like go find ganondorf under there and stop the calamity from its source
That'd make sense. Fortune tellers are usually depicted as cryptic, so it wouldn't be surprising at all to misinterpret the vision.
That's kinda cruel but I love that idea!
Maybe then Zelda’s mother did predict it, but left behind some very unclear, riddled instructions after her death.
You should narrate a movie, TV series or an audio book.
I really hope the story in this game is well done and not just skimmed on.

@@kingcreeper938 Good vibes your way, my friend! I hope whatever it is resolves and your future gets brighter!
I hope we're able to see more of the relationship between Impa and Zelda. I've always been interested as to how she looked before the calamity. Honestly I can't wait to see the Champions' final battles as well, even though...you know.
Great video 👌
If Age of Calamity is going to be considered canon then Link's Crossbow Training should too.
@Deso Lark Nintendo actually said that it’s not canon
I keep thinking about the "Dungeon Music SOS" theory (I think you covered it at one point), where the music in every Divine Beast eventually plays a Morse code SOS and how it may relate to the Champions being defeated. Maybe we'll get to see that play out, and if so, Revali's downfall is going to be the one I'm most interested in. The SOS comes very late in Vah Medoh's theme compared to the others, and is much more urgent in sound, implying that Revali held off the corruption the longest, but when he fell, he was panicked and desperate.
There's also another message in there as well. SAD, or rather, Search and Destroy.
fortune teller: maybe it was more of a doctor strange situation. they forsees we have to lose this battle to win the overall fight later.
Wars aren't won without sacrifice.
One thing I hope to see is a mission where Link is having to protect Zelda from the corrupted guardians, and after tearing through guardian after guardian, Link is overwhelmed. The Master Sword takes damage, Link gets wounded, and yet the player still has to keep fighting a hopeless fight.
Like in the final battle against Malladus in Spirit Tracks where you had to protect Zelda from getting hit so she could restore her power
I love how they're taking the story with a prequel game .
Knowing the game design of Hyrule warriors, the divine beasts will most likely be support weapon/ cutscene weapon that fires on a powerful boss and the enemy army , or an objective we will have to activate.
Edit: welp that was completely wrong
They’ll likely be special attacks for their champions

I was thinking the same. I hope Nintendo thought about this 🙏
In the same way as Crisis Core's final segment, yeah that'd be a really nice touch
Damn, that's a really good idea, I've never seen being mentioned before.
Nicely done!
@@ShadowSkyX hopefully!!!! It would be very emotional 😢
I’d love to see Castle Town as an explorable hub, functioning like the bazaar in the first Hyrule Warriors.
Same. It would be disappointing if you can't explore Castle Town.
I wish to see all towns as explorable hubs like in Spirit of Sanada
“The power to oppose the beast lay dormant underground”
What if they were referring to Ganondorf in some regard and not the shiekah tech? 😳
You mean like have Link stab the defenceless (presumably) Ganondorf with the Master Sword?
That probably would have stopped everything.
My interpretation is that the power in question was the shrines, and not the guardians. But hey
Hasunous Hasu That’s a great interpretation that strangely I’ve never heard anyone come up with before
yeah, ganondorf could be the power to oppose the divine "beasts"
I want to also be able to play as the evil as well is the good
Hyrule Warriors had plenty of playable villains, so hopefully Age of Calamity will too! Maybe the leader of the Yiga?
Initially I was struggling to picture a large roster of playable characters, and how the ending would be handled, but diving back into Definitive edition I remembered there are missions where you play as Ganon or other villains, and actually fight the heroes. So I'm going to assume that's how the tail end of the story mode will play out. Outside of Ganon, they'd likely be original characters, but he must have had trusted allies of some sort so it works.
Yes i would like that but it could just be cut scenes after definting the bosses or just keep playing until you loose all your health.
For a second I thought "Playable Koga" but then I remembered he's not that old. Which means we might get an actually intimidating Yiga leader?
@@remem95 Yeah I’d think one of the playable characters being Yiga is a safe bet
GomerJ Monk Maz Koshia?
Maz Koshia is 9,000 years old in AoC, I highly doubt he’ll be playable.
What if it turns out that *we* kill the champions, by playing as the blights
Brilliant 👏
Top 10 anime plot twists
Unless that's an optional segment that you can play outside of the main story, not sure I'd finish the game in that case. I can work with a tragic ending that can't be avoided. But I probably draw the line at actively killing the main characters myself.
That'd actually be a pretty cool idea while also keeping one of the original Hyrule Warriors' main selling points. Great idea
Entirely possible given that the first HW had an entire extra storyline detailing and letting you play the villains side of the story.
1. Make it Harder:
In the base game, Ganon, although massive and intimidating, is kind of a slouch.
2. An Open Fight for an Open World:
With Ganon moving around a lot more than before, the walled-in area of Hyrule Field would begin to feel rather small.
3. A Kingdom (Somewhat) Reunited:
After hearing of Link's heroism from thier race's "representative"(Riju, Teeba, Sidon, etc.), each group would journey to the spot where thier "territory" meets Central Hyrule to provide support to the hero, whether it be out of respect, or a feeling of debt.
4. Divine Support:
The reason for me making this post in the first place, playable divine beasts being mentioned in the video made me think, "What if the beasts actually did stuff in the dbg fight?," and this unholy concept was born.
They don't know he's already on his last legs and desperate, they think it's the actual end of the goddamn world with no miracle to save them again....until suddenly a miniature sun comes out of nowhere and straight up deletes him and every other bit of malice in the land.
prediction: they make hyrule castle and castle town a main hub world for the game
Warriors games don't have a hub world it's just menus
I loved Fi’s theme with the shots of ruins at the end you. You have a very artistic touch with your vids and it doesn’t go unappreciated 👍👍👍
Currently at work. Need something to keep me awake. Thank you Zeltik
Funny that u said that playing as the divine beast was the most least likely out of theses but now IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT U CAN
Your description of the last stand at Akkala really helps drive home the parallels to Reach, I think.
Well will probably play as the divine beasts, calamity and pig ganon, hopefully the giant sheikah, lynels, hinox etc are playable too
Zeltik: playable divine beasts are extremely unlikely
Me after the trailer: *Boy do I have some news for you*
Oh hearing fi's theme at the end literally made me feel like crying. I hope we get to see something about her in the prequel but in a canonical way.
Welp we’re getting playable Divine Beasts. Now wish me a million dollars, please.
For what it's worth, some Warriors games DO have hubs you can run around in. Maybe it would be more related to the Free Mode or any other kind of special mode they'd have, but maybe we could still get to run around at least a segment of Castle Town or something! (While not in combat, at least).
I want to see the champions die, gee well that got dark really quickly
I actually think it's very possible to have an explorable hubworld in Age of Calamity rather than the menus of Hyrule Warriors as this is something that was featured both in Dragon Quest Heroes and Persona 5 Scrambled, two Musou games made in between this game and the original Hyrule Warriors. The team has expressed a desire to design a more Zelda like game so it's possible that an extension of that would be to implement an explorable hubworld. I for one would really like to see that for Castle Town or maybe the castle itself (up until the calamity hit).
Thank you zeltik for another great vid
I’d love to see castle town, along with Zora’s Domain, Gerudo Town and the Goron settlement as some sort of hub where you can buy upgrades and select different items for you character loadouts, it would make the game more immersive!
Hey zeltik if you happen to be reading this I just want to say I love your content and I overall just wanted to say hi
The fortune teller could have realized that there was only one way for everything to transpire
I don;t think we'll be playing as the divine beasts themselves, but I remember that in some of the Warriors games you could activate environmental things. to cause floods, disrupt enemies, etc
I'm thinking the divine beasts will be like the special moves (idk what they're called). Like the inclusion of the majora's mask moon.
You could also play as the Great Fairy though, as an unlockable weapon for Link
Wants from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity!
1st) It'd be awesome if we could see or learn more about how the ancient Sheikah built the Guardians, Devine Beasts, Sheikah Towers, and Shrines and how they used them to defeat Calamity Ganon 10,000 years ago!
2nd) I would LOVE to see when and how the Royal Family received the prophecy for Calamity Ganon's return and then how they went about locating and excavating the Divine Beasts, Guardians, the Sheikah Slate, and the shrines.
11:45 Boy do I have news for you
I've been watching this channel for a long time and I gotta say thank you for keeping us hyped for the games. I finally subscribed.
PLAYABLE DIVINE BEASTS IS CONFIRMED
5. A good story (it's low on my list since I'm confident they'll do it justice what with the Zelda team being there.)
4. More playable characters beyond Link, Zelda, and the Champions (like Impa and maybe guest characters)
3. Dual Audio
11:47 hehehe...little does he know...
Zeltik at the end of the video: "Please nintendo, I wanna see Hyrule burn!"
Hyrule Warriors is my number one favorite guilty pleasure game. It's just so much mindless fun. A great way to unplug. This game was a very welcome surprise for me
"I want to see the champions die" -Zeltik 2020
Your first wish is actually very similar to a hope I have for BotW2. I'd love to see some base-building elements. It was sort of explored in BotW, with the sidequest to build an entirely new town, but I'd love to see that expanded, where you can build sanctuaries for Hyrule residents all over the map and customize what buildings look like, where they are placed, and what their functions are.
"This isn't a game where we are meant to win" laughs in hindsight
Maybe it's too much to hope for, but if they're going to the trouble of modeling some of the towns and villages anyway, maybe they could have some limited exploration of them as a way of adding more flavor to the menus. Like, instead of just upgrading stats or training party members from a menu like in the original Hyrule Warriors, there would be shops and dojos in the towns you could walk to between campaign stages. That'd be a cool way to appreciate Castle Town and stuff like it in a way that wouldn't need to mess with gameplay too much or force the creation of a ton of new assets.
Mission 12, part 3.
"Final Stand"
Objective: *Survive*
HALO Reach memes for the win!
2:20 recent Warriors games have villages serving as hubs, so it's possible to have Castle Town as a hub.
The mad lad predicted it
The way this game would be perfect is if they made it a travel story.
For me it would adding online co-op.
*"The darkest moment in the Zelda history"*
So... goddess hylia dieing dosnt count?
Honestly, that's peanuts. Can you literally compare it with the destruction of an entire kingdom, killing thousands in the process?
@@dragonbornexpress5650 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@itswolftime4597, figures you'd go with that.
Just want to say ALL your productions in the Zelda series are first class and you have an incredibly good VO throughout 👍
Well Zeltik? I already know about the dark story. But as for the the others I hope we do get them too.
What if playing out the siege of Akkala Citadel is like a survival challenge? Slowly you’re allies cannot assist you and slowly the enemies grow stronger you’re goal is to set a personal record for how long you can last
Just in case you weren't counting, Zeltik says "Dark/Darkest" 7 times this video.
Honestly I would love a multiplayer zelda game
WAAAAAIT imagine if we could control the divine beasts in the story mode BUT at a uncertain moment they are taken over by ganon AND we had to fight a blight of the divine beast with the champion of the divine beast! (ex: we fight windblight with Revali)
My hope: a Halo-Reach inspired final level, where you cannot win, but only survive a little longer.
"Objective: Survive."
@@dragonbornexpress5650 Congratulations Mission Failed. Here's your EXP and Rupee award.
About the fortune teller thing, the fact that Hyrule dug up some guardians wasn't the deciding factor in Ganon controlling them. Most of them poured out of the pillars that Ganon rose from underground. That most likely would have happened regardless of Hyrule knowing about them and Ganon's return.
Another thing: More stuff about the Zonai
Maybe, but that doesn't seem likely.
We might see small glimpses about them but I doubt it since their main focus will be on the sheikah tech and Ganon.
Botw 2 we might see what the deal with the zonai was!
Agree Agree Agree 😍
#2 playable divine beasts... Well... good news everyone! 😂😂
