Scott and the staff did amazing, but those dogs should have never been breed. Bulldog breeding is unethical and so hard on mom. The owners were in the wrong for not spaying their bulldogs, period.

I really enjoy Kate's "abnormal" bond with Benny. I think that this relationship is exactly the same as one of a partner/child. It is beautiful and she will grieve sorely when he passes. But there is no doubt that he is very well loved and cared for. Beautiful puppies for both new mum's. Baby Kinji is a bumper puppy.....gorgeous. Glad the other doggies made full recoveries. As always, so lovely to see such dedication to our furry friends and companions.
I had the same bond with a Thoroughbred horse I owned for 33 of his 34 years. I was devastated when he got colic and had to be put down because he twisted his intestine. He was like my own son. I still think of him now and then, and bawl my eyes out. I still have his registration papers, and all the tack he used. He was a stallion, and his last foal was born in Feb. 2008 after his death in 2007. I see her now and then, and she has been a mama a few times herself. I'm glad I got many pictures of him and myself over his lifetime, and a long lock of his tail hair to remember him by. (Jan Griffiths).
I don't call that abnormal. That's love and respect for the animal. Abnormal is when people keep paying to do painful surgeries or forcing an animal to live in agony because they cannot let go of them. OK.. well people that put dogs in strollers and clothes I also classify as abnormal:) My jack Russell had a stroke not long ago. She trembled in agony. I could have forced her into rehab therapy and put on medications, but I would never ever force that on an animal. Part of owning a pet is making that hard decision when it's no longer having a good like. Due to the pain, I had to out her down after rescuing her 15 years ago from a puppy mill. We give them a good life. That's the important part. Kate isn't forcing her dog to live in agony. Often vets and staff know this more then anyone. They see more then anyone what some animals are put though by their owners.
Kate, I love that you mentioned that Dr. Andrew is bold, not afraid to do what needs doing. Not Always, but sometimes a bit of aggressive treatment is what's needed. I feel the same about my own physician. Getting old ain't for sissies is what we use to day at our physio clinic. Not for people or dogs either. Your boy Benny is doing ok. he showed no signs of overt pain.
A quick suggestion for anyone who has a dog beginning to loose their sight: begin training them to recognize a key work which means they are about to be touched, so that when complete blindness comes (if it does) physical interactions don't become quite so stressful. For our elderly Jack Russell X we use "touch" for I'm about to touch you, and "touch touch" for I'm about to pick you up. She was already an anxious dog, so it has been important to ensure that neither we, nor her care providers, startle her with unexpected contact. Best wishes to you all and to your non-human family members, whatever they may be
I have a one eyed mare and 'touch' is my go to word. But she knows I'm there, she was a yearling when she lost it and is 11 now. She adjusted super quick thanks to a donkey named fuzz.
@@thesingleequestrian413 Oh bless her, what a brave girl she must be! And Dog bless donkeys, they have a special place in my heart. Wishing you all a healthy, happy new year
It's so hard when our dogs age... I have two 8 year olds and a six year old and their ages are starting to show and it's hard to imagine... My grandpa had a 24 year old blind and deaf poodle mix and she died exactly 1 mo after him it was crazy and she had 1 puppy her whole life and he lived to be 19...good genes
Love this show-but more often than not, the dog owners piss me off. The likely unethical breeding, the “oh, he’s cheeky” rather than being careful to not leave things out, and waiting 3+ days to do anything about it, etc. Half of the time it seems like the people are genuinely slow.
I look forward to these videos. All the vets and ancillary staff are so dedicated and caring, it is truly heartwarming to watch. The c-sections had me feeling butterflies in my stomach. So sorry Cardi lost 6 of the pups, but at least the other 5 are healthy and happy. Poor baby is only 18 months, probably needed another 6-8 months before breeding. Callie's pup is so adorable! His skin coloring is striking. Thank goodness Horatio pulled through. His mom at least knew to check for the ticks! Carson is beautiful, albeit his snacking habits aren't great! Kate doesn't have an abnormal attachment to Benny, I think it's perfect. He has been like her baby. I have that with my dogs, and I don't consider it abnormal. These furbabies are fluffy bundles of unconditional love, and they deserve the same in return. God Bless all!
You are so right about Cardi being too young at 18 months to be breeding, I am so glad someone raised this point! Spot on about Kate and Benny too, there's nothing unusual about loving your pets, and a 14 year relationship is always gong to be a powerful bond.
I hope the owners of these mom dogs had them spayed after they raised their pups. Both breeds have large heads, and they almost always have to have c-sections. I couldn't put my dog through this. Cute as the pups are, it's really not worth the risk to mom or her pups. (Jan Griffiths).
Unfortunately their some of the most expensive breeds kinda bc of the c section but your not only paying for the expected health care and c section, you're paying for the trouble the inconvenience and the lose, breeders expect to lose one or 2 puppies for most breed but it can be a lot more for those breeds, for dogs like them u pay for the possible replacement of the mother and the expectations for lost puppies or lost litter /(the care the dead receive before death stud fee and prenatal and c section cost for previous or possible future lost litters ) but don't think the profit is low bc it's not their some of so the most profitable breeds available and demand is very high
@@reneeburtness1526 I don't know how people who breed them knowing that can sleep at night. Absolute self-centered bastards. Dooming puppies to make a profit. Disgusting.
+ Some things I don't understand about the owners of the Lab who ate the yogurt container. Why did the owners wait three days to bring him in for treatment, during which time he was bringing stuff up and out both ends? And if the Lab is known to eat things he shouldn't, why would the owners leave things where he can get a hold of them? The woman said that the dog had destroyed three pairs of glasses. Why keep leaving glasses where the dog can access them? People would never leave dangerous things within the reach of a baby, who is known to put anything and everything in his or her mouth, so why would they be less careful with their pets?
I thought the same thing how blaze this couple acted the whole time. I'd be gripped in guilt since they left him to his own devise for 3 days. They only thought something were seriously wrong when he kept on vomiting.
Labs and some other breeds are well known to eat whatever please them, non food included. They are smart and smart enough to do this out of your sight so it won't be easy to stop them. Should all the owners of those dogs muzzle their pets at all times except for meal times?
@@lannguyen-pu1db Have you ever heard of babyproofing a house, i.e., keeping dangerous things out of the reach of babies once they start crawling? Well, dogs are our babies, too, and things they shouldn't eat should be kept out of their reach, especially if they're a breed that's known to eat things they shouldn't. And the people in the video knew that their dog had eaten the yogurt container but didn't do anything about it for three days. The woman also said that the dog had chewed up not just one pair of glasses but several; Why would she keep leaving pairs of glasses around where the dog could keep getting them and potentially swallowing pieces of plastic or even glass?

I had to cry because of Kate and Danny. She loves this dog so much. I loved my Leo as well but I lost him last Year go pancreatitis. He was nearly 14 years old, but in the last day he lost his will to fight. And an animal that gave up the fight for live, y ou are helpless.
If they give up, the kindest thing to do is release them from their misery. It's difficult, and I've had to do it more than once with an elderly pet. Remember the good times you had, and the pleasure he/she gave you over the years. (Jan Griffiths).
My gran and I would deliver all their puppies(professional-registered breeder-NOT a puppy mill!). In one 'breed season' we had over 30 puppies. It's rewarding, but absolutely nervewracking...sometimes heart breaking. Weirdly, I miss doing it though. The good parts of course :) I won't go into detail and traumatize everyone.
Allowing a dog less than 2 years of age to have puppies is so irresponsible, especially in a breed that already generally requires cesareans.18 months old (which means she was only 16 months when bred, so not even a year and a half old), is like letting your 14 year old daughter go get knocked up. I feel sorry for the dog. And I'm not anti-breeder, I'm just anti-irresponsible pet owners breeding their dogs when they clearly have no business doing so. Leave dog breeding to those with the knowledge and expertise to do so in the best interest of their dog's health and well being, and the puppies they bring into the world as well.
Unfortunately the breeders with the knowledge and experience are the ones who helped the breeds get to the point they are. Most breeders will not spay/neuter pet quality puppies, and their new owners will eagerly breed them to make a quick buck. A responsible breeder who really is dedicated to their breed and for the improvement of that breed and the dog fancy in general, will spay/neuter any pups that don't measure up. It should be a requirement. (Jan Griffiths).
This yes this! Bulldogs should never be breed, especially a bulldog pup. They should spay those poor dogs, they can't breath and go through so much just to give birth. 😥 the breed needs to be sterilized out of existence, existence is literally suffering for those poor bulldogs.
This show/Channel has a bad habit of highlighting irresponsible breeding.. I can think of only one instance (off the top of my head) where the person doing the breeding had a good reason to do so (Dieing breed)
We have a rescue English bulldog he is the most amazing dog I've ever owned but I would never buy one even though his personality is just incredible when I see him on a hot day unable to breathe or when he struggles to get up at 3 years old it breaks my heart I could never add to that and I understand that some do really well the vet has said he is one of the healthiest they have seen it makes me super grateful but then I think of the ones that come from a backyard breeder and are less healthy and my heart sinks. I really hope the work breeders are doing to make the breed healthier has an affect
My old bullmastiff lived to his 16th birthday and he was getting acupuncture once a week to help his hips. We knew when the time was right when he couldn’t get up any longer and was in pain trying.
I wouldn't allow it period. If she were my dog, she would have been spayed, and not have to risk her life. It's not worth it, and there are too many homeless beautiful puppies and kittens put to sleep every year because they can't find homes. I hate people who want to capitalize (make money) off of an animal who's supposed to be a pet and companion. (Jan Griffiths).

They did an amazing t with the C-section I could not believe that the Frenchie had 11 puppies. That is almost three times the size of a normal litter. I am so glad they were able to save the mom and five of the pups.

Its isn't a popular opinion, but I really wish we would stop breeding French bulldogs and 'smushed face' dogs. Frenchies can't even reproduce naturally, and you often end up with a lot of stillborn puppies, like this episode showed. These dogs suffer a lifetime of pain and medical challenges due to their unnaturally shaped faces and bodies. It's heartbreaking. Please don't buy these dogs.
Anyone with veterinary experience would agree with this whole heartedly. When you see enough brachycephalic (squish face) breed puppies die, it gets to a point where you just get disgusted at the idea. DOGS ARE NOT MEANT TO BE MONEY MAKERS. When I was watching the one about Kate and her elderly dog, I had realized that my dog is 16 in human years. She has gone completely deaf And I'm just happy that she's not having problems that younger dogs are having. Also being happy because there are people that are having those problems with their pets and there is a solution for these types of things because I know how it feels of losing a pet that you've had ever since you were younger and the pet was younger. They're part of the family. For example; My grandmother had a dog that had turned 20 in human years he was a little blonde Chihuahua . When I was 5 and used to cradle him and sing to him, I loved him so much but he sadly passed away last year. We were all devastated for months.. All needed to be said .... we love our dogs, I love my dog , I love her so much that it would kill me if something happened to her. ❤Just take the time to appreciate these doctors, they do everything possible for our us and our pets.❤
Does anyone know if an episode was being run showing Kate when Benny sadly passed away? God I feel so bad for her enormous loss! I've been through it twice in 3 years....my 16 year old in 2019 and my 13 year old in 2022. Pain never goes away😢
Awwww! Benny! You and I sweetie both going through the wars. I made it to 60 year old after COVID 19 infection and unprovoked Pulmonary Embolism and of late Brain Membrane Infection.
I would agree with some on here; certain breeds really should not be bred at all. A French Bulldog with ELEVEN puppies; that is INSANE. I used to have Boston Terriers. Both my females were free whelp . My stud was a very high quality and his genetics were CAREFULLY looked at to make sure that the LEAST chance of passing on genetic problems would occur. In the five litters from two females and the one male stud, I only lost ONE puppy and that was because she was so tiny she just could not suckle and trying to feed with a dropper was too dangerous and tube feeding was not an option. No cleft palates, no cataract either juvenile nor later in adulthood ever presented, no congenital defects whatsoever were passed from the first breeding and so I allowed four other breedings. BUT the thing I was very careful about was to not let them breed more than once as larger litters can happen when the stud covers the female an excessive amount of times. I wonder if this poor French Bulldog was subjected to repeated covers by the male and that is what brought about such a huge litter that would be problematic for any breed much less a small dog like a French Bulldog. My vet told me that repeated covers bring on larger litters, and I tend to think he is right. These breeds that sell for enormous money are really being abused by those who are just in it for the money and it is criminal in my mind. Pet owners in general should NOT be breeding their dogs if they love them. Spay and neuter and if you want your children (or yourself) to have the experience of puppies, then why not become foster families and help the many who are already out there in need. I hope this particular owner of the French Bulldog made the decision t spay this poor lady after this horrendous pregnancy.

I feel the same about my own physician. Getting old ain't for sissies is what we use to day at our physio clinic. Not for people or dogs either. Your boy Benny is doing ok. he showed no signs of overt pain.
Your profile piccie you look so young ❤️
Kate's love for her dog is so touching
That massive puppy was adorable, may I say Dr. Scott is amazing.
Pink flamingoes on the socks. You rock, Dr Andrew!
Best wishes to you all and to your non-human family members, whatever they may be
Great idea 💡 thanks for sharing and caring 💗💕💝😘🙌🏽
Brilliant idea!!
That's a really great idea.
Wishing you all a healthy, happy new year
kenji is quite literally the cutest puppy I have ever seen. glad that he and the other 5 pups came out okay, despite the odds (:
Puppies are wonderful, but I feel there is always something special about an old and beloved dog.
24?!? She has to be the oldest dog ever
Good care maybe good genes
Love this show-but more often than not, the dog owners piss me off. The likely unethical breeding, the “oh, he’s cheeky” rather than being careful to not leave things out, and waiting 3+ days to do anything about it, etc. Half of the time it seems like the people are genuinely slow.
And deliberately breeding dogs that need surgery and can't breathe through their nose falls into the "piss me off" category.
25:03 that look on Horatio's face after they shaved him 😂 🐕
I hope the owners of these mom dogs had them spayed after they raised their pups.
Disgusting.

Some things I don't understand about the owners of the Lab who ate the yogurt container.
I'd be gripped in
guilt since they left him to his own devise for 3 days. They only thought something were
seriously wrong when he kept on vomiting.
Agreed. Yeah, my first thought when I heard it, was *three days!!??*
I have a border collie pup turning 9 weeks tomorrow quite a big pup as he's a boy honestly love my dogs so much and honestly am so glad to see good vets like bondi vet - vet on the hill and obviously Scott miller such a nice bloke and would love to meet him one day amazing to have vets like him
I had to cry because of Kate and Danny.
It was good and nerve racking to watch all those puppies being born, you and your staff are so loving and caring. Bless all of you ❤️.
My gran and I would deliver all their puppies(professional-registered breeder-NOT a puppy mill!). In one 'breed season' we had over 30 puppies. It's rewarding, but absolutely nervewracking...sometimes heart breaking.
Weirdly, I miss doing it though. The good parts of course :)
I won't go into detail and traumatize everyone.
Things happen. Who are you to shame owners, you give the vibe that you hang around abortion clinics protesting.
I love how you never give up and don’t ever give up on these poor animals
Love you Benny, many happy and healthy years
I love watching your videos and watching just how much you truely care about each animal that comes in.
My old bullmastiff lived to his 16th birthday and he was getting acupuncture once a week to help his hips. We knew when the time was right when he couldn’t get up any longer and was in pain trying.
16 is impressive for a bullmastiff!
I absolutely love the love shown by these vets and their teams! God bless them all❤
So sad for the french bull dog ,she’s only a baby herself ,I wouldn’t allow mine girl to have pups so young
@@douglasgriffiths3534 yes Douglas I feel the same ,always dogs need homes that have been abandoned,so many in dog rescues
Isn't she 3? Either way, shouldn't be bred.

After watching the show for quite sometime I've become a huge fan of Dr. Andrew, just his way he does everything!
Makes me feel better that Dr Kate is like this with her dog. My old Gordon had hip displacia and arthritis in her ankles and knees. It did get to the point where I had to think, am I unfairly keeping her alive and is she in too much pain. I had so many pain meds and sedatives for her and eventually she did start dragging her back legs around. It was soo hard letting her go, when i invested so much time in helping her move around. 😭

People need to stop breeding animals that cannot give birth on their own. There are times when surgical intervention is needed, but all I see is selfish owners.
@Esau Davis very true.
I agree completely!!
Age and health makes a difference in success. One or two cycles isn't enough.
They didn't say if planned or accident so I'm not going to assume.
people need to stop breeding animals that cannot breathe because they have no nose :(
@@pjk1714 it would be quite a coincidence for the dog to have accidentally have been bred to another French bulldog.
They did an amazing t with the C-section I could not believe that the Frenchie had 11 puppies. That is almost three times the size of a normal litter. I am so glad they were able to save the mom and five of the pups.
I agree , thats 3 litters ,How many times was the poor Frenchie bred???? Sadly some people have no idea wth theyre doing.. Those breeds needing c sections should only b bred once or twice!!
@@KathgoKat I believe it was the first litter /first time bred, that been said, I can't support unethical breeding and wonder how the owner got a doggo that wasn't desexed in the first place! Thought that was a requirement, at least here in Aus? People think breeding is so simple but it's not and if you don't know what you're doing, you run the risk of passing on bad genes etc. Plus there's already so many animals in shelters and rescues needing homes so why bring more pups into the world? 🤦♀️
@@hoomancatslave1738 I meant how many times did the stud dog breed her in that heat cycle....to have 11 puppies she must have been bred many times...A reputable breeder allows the male to cover her once skips a day and let's the him breed her a second time.. For this breed to have 11 pups is unheard of. I have GSD s and they dont have litters of 11 !!! These owners shouldn't be breeding !!!

I also have no doubt that Leo will. send us just the right bay. :-)
3:09 Unexpectedly laughed at the dog being dragged
34:04 THERE'S MORE OF THEM LOL
I can stand the thought of my dog growing old. He's only 3 now but I know he will grow older. I had dogs before but they've been family pets when I grew up so my dog is my first dog that is my own. It so diffucult to watch your pet grow old and watch their body failing them and knowing that sooner or later you have to make that decision. But they're really joy to have the short time you have them.
What a beautiful pup. Never seen a bull dog with that coloring before
The color is called merle. I've seen it in Aussie Shepherds, Collies, Dachshunds, and Shelties, but not in a Bulldog. Or maybe it's a somatic mutation. Who knows? (Jan Griffiths).
And sadly he will probably be used as a stud dog 😔
@@laylawalker8897 Unfortunately, more than likely. I wish someone would buy him and neuter him and have him as a companion. Animals used for stud really have a bad life. Having to be confined, all the frustration of being an intact male, and overworked. Not fun. (Jan Griffiths).
All the woman seen was £££ annoying
I support this opinion with my both hands
Anyone with veterinary experience would agree with this whole heartedly. When you see enough brachycephalic (squish face) breed puppies die, it gets to a point where you just get disgusted at the idea. DOGS ARE NOT MEANT TO BE MONEY MAKERS. Especially when half of the "breeders" out there don't have the foggiest idea about the first thing about vet med, neonatal puppy care, nor genetics.

I only know so well how she feels about her aging best doggy friend. All the thoughts , which go round in her mind : is he still happy, do I close my eyes, because I want to keep him forever, is he in severe pains etc., we experienced the same thoughts just 6 months ago. But when our beloved 17 years old best, best cat lost the ability to keep herself on her back legs ( only 5 days) , we had to let her go. And we still miss her so much. Exactly!!! Same with the British Bulldog. Both of these dogs should have never been bred. They should have been spayed and enjoyed as companions as they were meant to be. If I had one of these dogs, male or female, you can bet they would have been fixed at no older than 1 year old. (Jan Griffiths).

All needed to be said .... we love our dogs, I love my dog , I love her so much that it would kill me if something happened to her.

hi bondi
i love this its what i watch all the time and am watching it right now
I would agree with some on here; certain breeds really should not be bred at all.
