CAT 930M & METALPLESS PLOWING SNOW | First storm of the season

- Finally our first plowable snowstorm came for this winter season. I was able to use my new cat 930M with the new MetalPless MaxxPro 1248-20 Live Edge. This thing is beast! I hope I get to use it a least a couple more times this season. It has been a really slow year for snow. Let me know what you think in the comments. Thanks for watching!

I am from Lehigh valley also not much snow so far this year for us snow fighters!! But Nice piece I was looking at the metal pless I decided to get a Artic sectional for now because got a really good deal on a demo but do have my eyes on a metal pleas for the future!! Nice work though hour and half for that size lot and just learning the feel for the metal pless is really good, keep up the good work
Hey Cecilio. Yeah bummer of a year for us. Arctic is a very good pusher, I might get one just to try. But MP is definitely the Rolls Royce of all plow equipment and it definitely lives up to the hype. I will be buying only MP from now on. Thanks for watching!

But fam has some crazy equipment to handle that lot dolo. Efficient ain't the word fam I give y'all alot of respect for the way y'all handle business. No room for bs in this game.

We're negotiating a contract for the remainder of the season here in North Central Wisconsin and then on for three years. I'm looking at a 544K and marrying it to a MaxxPro 1048-20. The price tag of the setup is hard to swallow but videos like your's makes me confident that it's the right thing to do. Buy once cry once!
For sure John. I can guarantee you won't be dissapointed. It's just so efficient, I don't think I have really wrapped my head around it yet. Awesome!

It looks like something that takes some time to get efficient at. We're currently using 12' protech box pushers on mid 90s 544Es. $40,000 per set-up, very little to go wrong, easy to operate. Limiting factor for us is finding operators. Hoping that the $100,000 investment in the new setup does the work of two of our other units.
@@johnzuleger4807 From what I can tell, it would easily do the work of 2 loader with 12' pushers. I did like 8 acres in 2 hours. An operator would have to be skilled and know what they are doing. You are also very correct in the simplicity of a pusher setup compared to the MP. But after actually having one now, I am very confident in the build quality of these units.

Last year we made the transition to liquid salt brine. Bought a 300 gallon VSI brine sprayer and built a brine maker. I am amazed at how little residue the live edge leaves behind. Seems like the perfect compliment.
@@johnzuleger4807 That's my plan next year to switch to liquid. Should work perfect with the live edge scrape.

how did the 908 perform?
Thanks for watching Ray. Yes, I hope many more, but we are running out of time here. The 908 did just ok, the first storm is always tough. I think it might be undersized for the amount of work. We'll see, might upgrade it.
Lehigh Valley Back to Business i’m considering getting a 915 or 1016 metal pless for my 908 for next year, We still haven’t had any plowable snow yet down this way. we got to scrape one of our lots that’s a little bit further north this last storm but everything is been salt events so far. All the forecasters keep talking about the end of the winter being busier than the beginning..
@@rayebert2704 After getting feedback from the operator on the 908, it seems as though the 12' pusher we have on it might be a little too much. I might consider the MP 915 for it or I am going to go up to a Cat 914M loader and put a MP 1016 on it.
Seems like the "Big Storm" has been a week away all season .
They say a pattern change is inbound but not holding my breath on that one.
Must be odd to jump in a pickup and plow after running that loader @ 20 ft wide! 😅
I am not holding my breath either. The pattern change has been 14 days away for 3 months. It's actually not that bad going from one to the other. Although when I am in the truck I am like "I could be done with this by now if I had the Loader LOL". Hopefully we get a move on here shortly, season is only about 6 weeks more.
How to you price such Area? By m2?
I do it by equipment, production rates and what I need to get per hour. I mean it all ultimately is SF.
Have you ever tried an Arctic Sectional???
I have not because my sites require a wing type plow be able to windrow and box push with the same piece of equipment.
Nice video -- I like the different views you provide. I know the MetalPless is new to you. Go to the DIRT NINJA channel to see some videos of someone who has used it for a couple of seasons. He's very adept at changing the wing positions on the fly to maximize his efforts. Some of last winter's videos show that better than the few videos from this winter. I'm looking forward to more of your work!
Thank you Ron! Been following Tom over at Dirt Ninja for a few years now. I have talked with him many times. It would be nice if we would have had more than 1 storm this year to use it. I want to be making so much more content but its hard when the content is not falling out of the sky LOL.
U should of bought the joystick ....that cat roller switch is bogus
I have thought about trying the joystick. I might try it on the next purchase. The switch isn't that bad though. Thanks for the suggestion 👍
