I feel like this song is gonna be at the end of a movie someday
Exactly what I was thinking aha, it sounds like a triumphant ending song :)
I was thinking the same thing.
This one was an instant favorite after listening for the first time. Very special indeed
Some fun coming-of-age movie! Yes yes!
Movie of my life
What a vocal. This kid has some pipes like I never heard before.
If you like this, give Rush a listen, basically any Rush song has similar vocals
@@steVENOM Rush has similar vocals? Are you joking. They sound nothing the same he sounds like Robert Plant. Steve must be tone deaf.
@@DiamondHandsEy Actually...YOU are tone deaf, buddy. In this song he sounds very similar to Rush's Geddy Lee.
Tell you who he sounds like... sounds like Josh Kiszka to me!
@@steVENOM He sounds a hell of a lot more like Robert Plant to me. This is a good thing; I've never cared for Geddy Lee as a singer.
Sorrows of the Earth
May our tears of rain wash down to bathe you
This is what life is worth
When the fires still burn and rage all around
Can you hear that dreadful sound?
Fire still burning on the ground
Follow the fearsome sound
As they march to battle, hear the drums pound
We do not fight for war
But to save the lives of those who do so
Can you hear that dreadful sound?
Fire still burning on the ground
Can you feel my love?
Rising with the heat above
Life's the story of
Ascending to the stars as one
Marching across the land
Is a peaceful army joining the band
Walking hand in hand
To an anthem loudly sung where they stand
Can you hear that dreadful sound?
Fire still burning on the ground
Can you feel my love?
Rising with the heat above
Life's the story of
Ascending to the stars as one
Thanks for the lyrics
Thanx 4 the lyrics, what great lines....a poem...
This is awesome
Beautiful 🥺
thx
What makes this band is how crazy his vocie is yes thats true but whats even crazier is that his brother on guitar is just as jaw dropping.
I just want to add that I am 61, and your music, boys, is timeless. I feel like I'm 17 again when I listen to your music. Thanks so much. ❤🙏
I'm 59 and the first time I heard them I was sitting up one night on my phone and they guest on Late Night with Carson Daily.I wasn't paying any attention to the show till I heard these guys playing.I think they were playing Flower Power and I sort of looked at the screen a little bit.I went back to my phone then they started singing Hyway Tune then I looked back and said Damn these guys sound pretty good!Like nobody I heard in awhile.Looked them up on TH-cam and listened to Black Smoke Rising and I was hooked. I hear a "no greater love hath" song about performing battlefield medicine unarmed soon after a bad situation.
Those who love peace will be peaceful. Those who don't, will not. Same as it's always been. People's signs and signals mean nothing. How we treat others shows what's in our hearts.
70 years old...this entire rock anthem cannot be described with words. My emotions soar between the pristine joy and tearful reflections of my youth...truly an astounding and overwhelming intro to what should become a classic album.
Wonderfully described I wish you well and have a great day!
This comment alone sent me into pure ecstasy. This group has a divine grip on its audience
This song can unite generations. 🙏🏾
how beautifully put...
Its how it makes me feel, as a 50 father, husband, musician and singer. Both simultaneously joyful and melancholic..reflective andin the moment. Truly satisfying music and Ive heard lots
the fact that you can actually hear the drums pound on "hear the drums pound" fills my soul with joy and i dont even know why
No one can tell me they sound like Zeppelin anymore, this is so different and so bloody good. I'm excited for what's about to come, they're so young.

I wish with my whole heart and soul these guys stay happy and healthy and together for the next 40 years so we will all have the magic and love that they bring to the table. We have all been waiting for a band like this. Young, full of heart and soul, energetic, raw talent, but yet they are old souls who are bringing a new generation of rock and roll back to the people!

I honestly don't think Josh's voice is going to last that long at this rate, but let's just enjoy them while we got em lol
My daughter told me about this band. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have known about them! So glad I have been enlightened! They are so great! 🖤🎶
Lawd, that boy’s pipes are NEXT level. Can’t wait to see them play again.
Yeah, he reminds me of Ric Emmett of Triumph in this song. Rock music is still alive.
Hell Yeah!! Fucking shredds!!
He sounds so much like Geddy Lee in this one, but he still has his own style.
They need to work on putting a set together that isnt 75% slow. Their whole set sounded like this except for WTCF and Highway Tune

Why can’t people enjoy the music without comparing it to someone
Literally. I don’t get why greta van fleet is at the forefront of all the comparison abuse. New bands like dirty honey wear their inspirations on their sleeves as well but don’t get half the hate. It’s stupid just enjoy the music
@@spencermadison626 if the music is good who cares! It blows my mind
Well see Greta Van Fleet isn't some dumbass screamo punk pop boy band, or rap, so some people can't comprehend that it's some guys who really like classic style of rock and have stuck to it.
👏
I feel like this would be a better song with Miley Cyrus' voice.
16 year old here. I was raised by music like Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Alice in Chains, etc. This band here serves as a reminder that even in my lifetime, this kind of music can't and will NEVER die off. this is probably one of the most emotional songs I have ever listened to. Proud to be who I am!
Josh's voice is really getting better. He's developed a nice vibrato here that he really didn't have much of before. I've been saying for 3 years that they were so young when they got famous that he still has a little more development to come in his voice, and when that happens, look out! Sounds like it's happening. Awesome song, awesome track! Love these guys!
love the pitch correction.
The music industry needs this, they are bringing back Rock, not only the music but also the spirit. It didn't die, people just forgot...
NO!!! The industry killed rock. Thats why Pearl Jam plays such pssy music, GNR died, and we're left with Nickelback and Puddle of Mudd.
They aren’t manufactured like some bands are so we got something real right here which is refreshing
Rock is not dead you just are not looking for it. black midi is a new band that is great. Black Country New Road released one of the best albums I’ve heard all year last week. Squid is great too! Tame Impala and King Gizzard are one of the two best psyc rock bands I’ve ever heard! Please look into all of them!!!!!
The kids have grown. Their sound was accomplished enough at a younger age. But now, they've grown into their own skin and the skies the limit. Saw them live a couple Summers back at the Skookum festival, and in my eyes, they stole the weekend. Forget the Zeppelin comparisons, these young fellows are Greta Van Fleet, and shall remain so as long as they care to carry the mantle.
The song is 5 years old apparently
Fuckin rights well said.
I laughed them off as Zep imitators as so many others did when I first heard the band . But after listening to the three tracks from their upcoming album, the laughing has stopped. These guys are growing musically, and their talent is obvious. I could still use a little less vocal screeching but I have little doubt I'll be looking for the vinyl version of the album come April.
In the beginning I just thought they were lovable fun. After this, I'll take them seriously. Epic song and performance! 😎
@@patrickfitzgerald2861 I'm with you, Patrick. These are four immensely talented young men.
The acoustic guitar along with the organ during the intro gives me Kansas vibes and I can’t wait to blast these guys in my helmet on my upcoming cross country motorcycle trip. The energy these guys bring is amazing.
I’m 55. A rock chick from way back... Greta is one of the few bands I’ve been excited about in 30 years. In a sea of over sexualized, auto tuned crap.... they give me hope for music.
I am the same age and having been awaiting for the return of Rock music , maybe this band is the spark it needs. We can hope.
Highly Suspect, Greta Van Fleet, The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, Death From Above, the list goes on. Quite more out there then you think!
51 here- literally the only new band I have listened to in years. Real rock.

This song reminds me of a quote by Mr. Rogers: “when I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’”
So far this is their best album by a country mile. I’d consider it one of the greatest rock albums ever honestly.

It's like taking the best parts of Rush and mixing it with a little grunge and rock opera. I love how these guys take me through multiple genres and moods in a matter of seconds. So talented.
Its more like triumphs vocal and song style
This piece has made me cry big tears. Not tears of sorrow, nor tears of joy. Something in between, behind, all above, powerful emotions from deep inside. Crazy.

Every one is talking about this sounding like the 60s and 70s..............but I swear I hear every era of modern music in this one song. Breathtaking.

I discovered your first EP in May 2018 on the radio on the way to visit our wedding venue. We played Flower Power on the ceremony of our wedding (18th August 2018). The week we lost our first baby (a little boy) in the womb at 3months pregnant, your 1st album came out (October 2018) and we sang Age of Man everyday in the car from the top of our lungs and I cried every time I heard the Anthem song. Anthem of the peaceful army accompanied us from this loss to the birth of our little girl in October 2019.
