Too many to mention, but that turbo boost between KITT and KARR at the end…I was 5 when that aired. I’ll be 43 this year and I still love it.

I prefer Paul Frees as the voice of K.A.R.R. It would have Been nice if there were a couple more episodes featuring K.A.R.R., but I'm still happy that there's at least 2 episodes with him
The actual fact he cared for his brother in Trust Doesn't Rust. It hurt. It still hurts. The uncut script I read made the episode more heartbreaking.

Well KARR was voiced by Paul Frees, who voiced hundreds of characters, one of which being the narrator at Disney's Haunted Mansion.

Looking back on it, Karr was like Spidey’s alien symbiote. He just wanted a demented human host with whom he could bond.

@@appleleptiker Hah, it's not just that, but also the circumstances of why KARR's main programming gets even triggered:
imagine you run into two seemingly nice guys who invite you to do things with them (if KARR does not know what kidnapping, prison or even an alarm is, I highly doubt he's aware of the morality behind bank robbing) and the next thing you know is there's police and others after you with the order shoot to kill.
And after you somehow survive that, you casually drive around minding your own (failing organs) business and guess what. Suddenly the same 'shoot to kill' guys pop up the second they're aware of your existence lol.

@@Ijinzu Not only that, but Devon literally said that he was like a "Gun in the hands of a young child." Or something like that, but yeah, he admitted that he fucked up. Poor KITT didn't even want to do that game of chicken, not only because of Michael, but probably his brother, if you look at the script archives (the draft for that episode will make your heart ache, i cried, I'll admit it) and KARR being betrayed by his own brother would make his trust in anyone turn off, so he manipulated the only two people who were helping him, till he could "get the job done."
In the first episode he was in, yes, but when he came back he was like a totally different character

Peter Cullen’s voice is unmatched. He’s always KARR for me and William Daniels will always be KITT. Though much props to Val Kilmer, he did a good KITT.
I loved watching this as a kid.

If there's anything in "KITT vs. KARR" I didn't like, it's that KITT and KARR don't exchange any dialogue to each other like they do in "Trust Doesn't Rust". Otherwise, both awesome episodes.

I believe that KARR is the favorite villain of many who have watched "Knight Rider" and though he's my favorite villain, what I get really creeped out by is that it's like the devil in the form of an automobile.
Even creepier is the fact Peter Cullen voiced him. You’re listening to a neon-age Christine, with the voice of Optimus Prime, everyone’s favourite Autobot hero.

Oh yeah, exactly! I love that clip! It shows that he technically could've been redeemable. He was just as clueless about humanity as KITT was. Like Devon said with the expression of a small child with a gun. The most common sense could've been Take the gun away from the child till they know how to use the dang thing, if that's the issue.
Man, the little music bits throughout this show was so EPIC! I remember watching this..EVERY Sunday night on NBC a new episode would come out..Only 1 a week! Ugh..dont know how we made it! 🤣😂🙃
Yeah, it actually helps me know what sorta framework the character has. Like in KITT Vs KARR, both the songs over KARRs radio were basically about self preservation and his evolution to a thrill seeker. It truly showed that KARR, just like his brother, knows his mortality. But he wants to test his limits, only on perfect timing, just to try and get more powerful.
Every car I buy I start making it look like KARR. The yellow light bar. 😁
Karr was a Badass in Knight Rider as a Supervillian
If you think about it then KARR isn't a villian. His programming is self preservation so he just does what he has to do just to follow his programming. Just like KITT but in reverse.
You missed out the bit where Tony and the Rev said about where are we and K.A.R.R. told them and then they were introduced and they asked for food and Rev asked for a couple of eggs sunny side up and K.A.R.R replied with 'I have no eggs, perhaps you can direct me to a chicken',.
I remember Tony following it up with something along the lines of “Oh, what are you, a comedian or something?”
The ramming of the bridge is a real practical effect.

The closest thing that the original _Knight Rider_ ever got to a third K.A.R.R. episode was the 4th season episode titled *Killer K.I.T.T.*
Ehhh. Maybe I'm in the minority, but "Killer K.I.T.T." was one of the dumbest episodes of the entire series...
what they should have done was put Karrs system in Goliath or the juggernaught vehicle that destroyed kitt, that would have kicked off a great 3rd or fourth season
When we got our first computer, my brother tried writing what's known today as a fanfic, about Garth Knight and K.A.R.R. somehow teaming up with each other to go against Michael and K.I.T.T. ... Never did finish it, though.

There was a Knight Rider videogame - I think for PS2? - that pulled off what fans seemingly wanted to see: Garthe Knight teamed up with K.A.R.R. against Michael and K.I.T.T.

I feel the same, I loved Paul Frees as KARR but he passed away shortly after this a few years later, It's a shame because his voice fit KARR so well and made him one of kind.

I actually love both episodes with KARR,but kitt vs karr is the best of the series for me, not only karr is better but he also have his music very similar to kitt. The only thing missing in kitt vs karr is the interaction between kitt and karr, int trust doesn t rust the two of them talk and that added the feel that they are "brothers". That is great and ithink is really missed in kitt vs karr, because when he return karr is very vicious and angry, but he diesn't exchange any dialogue with kitt,is a real missed opportunities. Anyway the goodbye michael knight and the turbo boost vs kitt is the best moment

All though KITT is iconic for his own reasons, i always kinda preverd KARR's looks though.
It's a personal preference but i just always liked the black and silver two tone, combined with the yellow scanner lights, cooler looking than the pure black with the red scanner.
The final battle was my favorite moment

In his first appearance in season 1 it’s Peter Cullen who voices Optimus Prime in the Transformers G1 animated series and movies. In his second appearance in season 3 it’s a different voice actor Paul Frees

I really wish this page had more than just a clip function. We need the create function added for this vicious vehicle to truly have the humans respect him. There's fan artists who can show their work. Cosplayers. Anything.
Though I don't doubt he'd want to run a lot more people over afterward who use it to mock him, so... yeah, on second thought.

Loved the yellow voice box and scanner, and the black over silver paint is cool as well...if I had a choice I'd rather drive a karr replica than kitt
Same, I’d rather drive KARR if I had a choice.
The yellow was from the saltwater and sand getting into the red LED components. The two-tone black and silver was because KARR requested a paint job to differentiate himself from KITT (from a syndication deleted scene; but from the DVD and the original NBC broadcast).

In my City we had a classic car show today and one car was KARR ! It was completly black tho and had the gold light scanner in the front and even the interior ! The Plate in the Rear was blue an red california at the topp and KARR underneath :D And this was in germany ;)

When ever I see KARR I always feel bad for him. He always gets betrayed by people, because in one scene where he kidnapped the guys girlfriend (forgott their names) he said: “you betrayed me“. Or in other scene where he heard the conversation of the 2 thiefs, where they wanted to trick him, I think he felt betrayed by them even though he helped and protected them. Of course he is cold towards other sometimes. It is just my opinion. But still poor KARR.

In his second appearance Karr didn't have a chance because of the upgrades that Kitt went through like greater durability when it came to a rematch with Goliath.

Yes, cuz we never see Tony again after "Trust Doesn't Rust" (or Rev even though Tony overpowered him after he was turning soft). And John in "KITT vs. KARR" realises what he got himself into.
@@AndrewChapman Yeah, but if it was Garthe, and someone knew how to write the interactions well (unlike the videogame, brutal honest opinion) then Garthe and KARR would both Despise one another, but feel as though they're the only one who understands. That's why people, including myself, think that it would have been the perfect fit, if executed properly.

That was immediately proven wrong when he went on Broadway for Jekyll and Hyde, and the Face Hoff. He regrets killing off Garthe, I just know it.
I just noticed that KARR's engine noise is the same as the Car 1977.

Bit of useless trivia - the engine roaring/revving effects from Trust Doesn't Rust was actually taken from the late 70s movie The Car (great movie if you haven't seen it, but Futurama fans will recognise the car in it).
Also, when KARR goes over the cliff at the end of Trust Doesn't Rust, you get a very brief shot from the end of that movie as well.

They don't do car chases in TV shows anymore....back then it was done in all of em.
I love the show like nothing else. But one thing has always bugged me. There was no real explanation for the difference between the original KARR (all black and red scanner - KITT’s twin) and the new KARR (silver bumper/sides and orange scanner). Aside from that, I’m a knight enthusiast 👍
The reason the scanner changed from red to orange/yellow was from the saltwater and sand getting into the components after sitting on the beach for so long. The reason KARR went from being a black car to a two-tone black and silver is because there was a deleted scene (on the Knight Rider DVD) where KARR told the guy who found him on the beach that he wanted a new paint job to set himself apart from KITT.

i didn't see the show when it debuted on nbc monday September 26 1982 because i wasn't born yet. i wasn't born til may of 1983 so i didn't see the show back then when it was on the air from 1982-1986 so the little i know about knight rider comes from watching the dvds and watching it on youtube. peter cullen and paul free's both did a good job voicing karr but if you ask me paul free's is the better voice for karr. i like his voice better just because when he voiced him he made karr sound more evil. i do hope knight rider 2 gets released on PlayStation 4 or the nintendo switch right now it's only on PlayStation 2 though. i heard once the original knight rider for nintendo sucked and you don't even get out of the car you just stay in the car the whole time. watching the walkthrough for knight rider 2 it's a very good game and i want it. the part at the beginning of the game was unrealistic though because kitt didn't even warn michael about the missiles until ten seconds before impact if it was the tv show kitt's sensors would have detected and warned michael about the missiles like a minute or two minutes ahead of time.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.

If NBC had waited until 2010 to try to reboot the series (instead of 2008) they could have used the Camaro which was revived in 2010 (in 2008 they used a Mustang since the Camaro and the Challenger hadn't yet been revived)
