    😸 CAT scale results after the renovations and loaded up to go south for the winter:
    We were right at capacity just like we were before the renovations so taking out the heavy furniture items made room for the added parts and tools. I actually packed the outside storage full of sealant because I wanted to use up my extra stock. If I had a normal amount of sealant, we would have been a couple hundred pounds under capacity.

    Love this idea. The only addition I would add would be to put full extension slides where those totes live. That way you can just pull out and grab what you need. Nice job!

    The Velcro curtains are a great idea. I have sewn Velcro on so many different things. I made some thermal blackout window covers attached to the windows with Velcro. I just used the window screws and screwed them through the Velcro into the window. That’s the only way they stay on especially when it gets hot in the summer.
    You guys are very organized and work well together as a couple and business partners. I think that’s awesome.

    From another mobile generator service technician. I would like to say I want to hire your wife she's good at her business. Lol. That's the hardest part when you're a service technician. But she looks like she has it under full control.

      She is awesome and keeping the business growing plus she puts videos together to help other techs and RVers. If Erika didn’t have a passion for making videos to help others, this channel wouldn’t exist.

    Great video!! Curious which RV school did you go to? I was enrolled in the school in Athens Texas and unfortunately pulled myself out due to a close death in the family however months have gone by and wishing i went and thinking about re enrolling. I already bought all the tools on the check list lol. I’d love to know your experience at whichever school you went to

    • @RadarRoadWarriors

      I’m so happy I attended the NRVTA. Between the hands on experience in school, the network I made and being able to tap into a wealth of knowledge to get answers to difficult/unique RV issues, it has eliminated so many hurdles for running a successful business. I have a friend who also started a mobile tech business with zero training and I watch him struggle with some basic stuff that is holding him back from being successful. He’ll call me up for advice and in my head I’m thinking, yup, we covered that in week 2 of training.
      If you want to see the type work I do or issues I run into, we post the behind the scenes of running the business in the stories on IG and FB at Mobile RV Tech Services. You can find the link in the description of this video. It will give you a good idea of what it’s like to run the business.

    Were y ou concerned at all with the weight of your new storage unit? In other words, did you feel a need to calculate the weight of the finished product compared with the weight of the sofa and such that was there before?

    • @RadarRoadWarriors
      @RadarRoadWarriors  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was mindful on the materials used for the building. I didn’t weigh each part I removed/put in. We’ll be going through the scales before heading across the country to verify that we’re not over GVWR on the trailer.

    I'm planning to take NRVTA courses and will also be buying a truck to tow. Is your ladder the one listed on the NRVTA tool list??
    If not, pls give me specs on it. With the one on the list, the picture doesnt show if it can be closed completely like yours is.
    Thx!😊

    • @RadarRoadWarriors
      @RadarRoadWarriors  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My ladder is a Gorilla ladder from Home Depot. I’m pretty sure it’s the 21’ model of the 3 models that had when I picked it up.
      The Little Giant on the tool list would operate the same but might be a different size when collapsed/ extended.

    There are a lot of tech courses out there? Are there ones that are bad, I live in the North east and have not found one that is local. I can’t leave my family for 5 or 7 weeks to be able to take the class in Texas. RV Technical Institute has a course that is atleast a little closer and a large portion of it online, any recommendations?

    • @RadarRoadWarriors
      @RadarRoadWarriors  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did the RVTI online level 1 portion and it was night and day difference in learning going to Texas with their program and bring hands on.
      If you can do a week or 2 at a time, I feel it would be beneficial to go to Texas. Plus dough in person classes gains a huge network to work with.

    Do you have any concerns for the next couple years for RV repair? I'm enrolled to go to Athens, TX in Feb but i want to make sure i do my due diligence and be able to pull the plug if things might be screeching to a halt. I saw a video in my recommend taking about a "another manufacturer" going bankrupt or something to that effect. Aside from that, things could be getting really ugly and nasty next year (possible civil unrest and food scarcity on the horizon). I know you can't predict what's gonna happen but as far as what you know for the mobile rv business outlook, what are you expecting?
    I have repair experience in different fields but not much in RV. I just started a side gig in warranty repairs on massage chairs. It's great because it's mobile; if i want it to travel somewhere I just let my contact know and he finds the jobs for me and gives me all the support i need to get the job done. I also do ministry work in different states so being able to have a source of income helps out a lot. I don't have an RV atm but hope to find something next year. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge!

    • @RadarRoadWarriors
      @RadarRoadWarriors  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The RV industry is still going strong, yes production is back down to reality after the last couple years of being at an all time high. Fact is there are a lot of RVs out there, they can break easy and there is a demand for good techs to repair them.
      I don’t get into the hype of doom and gloom. If the world comes to an end, it doesn’t matter what my plans were or what I was doing.

    I have a question... How does a traveling mobile rv tech manage the taxes for multiple states, or do they only charge sales tax for the state of origin?

    • @RadarRoadWarriors
      @RadarRoadWarriors  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We charge customers the tax rate for the state we are working in. Our accountant pays all the taxes to the state we owe money to. We only operate out of two states to make the business side of things much easier.

    • @RadarRoadWarriors
      @RadarRoadWarriors  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      After working on our RV over the past 4 years and working on many other RVs as a tech, I can tell the Open Range was put together without cutting corners.

      @@RadarRoadWarriors Thanks for the reply. I have had a Open Range travel trailer (310BHS) for 8.5 years and just bought a new Open Range 374BHS 5th wheel. I feel the same about Open Range (Highland Ridge RV). I think they are built better than many other brands that I have been in. Thanks for your videos. I am excited to see more of your videos.

    What an off-putting bossy wife. OMG!

    • @RadarRoadWarriors
      @RadarRoadWarriors  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What makes you say that? She’s amazing and a huge asset. She came up with this video idea to answer the all the questions we were fielding from other mobile techs to help them out when we really didn’t have anytime to whip out another video. She came up the outline of the video and told me what we need to include and filled in with everything I didn’t mention that people where asking. It’s organized, efficient and helped several people. If that comes off bossy and off-putting to you, then you might be a little ‘soft’ and need to move on from our channel.
