    Thanks for the video. Great intro.
    Why did the one key wallets get such a low security score in your table that you show towards the end? And what do wallets have to do to get a 100 in your privacy column?

    • @CryptoGuide
      @CryptoGuide  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Firstly, their security score is quite high, up there with Ledger, just lower than things like Jadez Coldcard, etc. If you look at the spreadsheet this is mostly due to missing features like device verification, multisig verification, adding custom entropy, etc.

      From memory some of the firmware updates worked via a phone, but some occasionally required a PC. (Though you could safely use any PC for the update itself, as long as you understand that you don't need to enter your seed in to the PC at any point)

      @@CryptoGuide honestly, I don't know. One half would be in btc/usdt and the other one probably in some other altcoins that will be attractive at the moment (i.e., buy the dip).
      I've seen that people use a different/separate device just for the btc. What's the point?
      One part of my mind says "Go for the newest tech" and the one says "Go with the trusted and well-known stuff that has been tested for years". For life savings it should probably be the 2nd, more hackerproof technology with less room for bugs and vulnerabilities.

    • @CryptoGuide
      @CryptoGuide  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Basically some folk will want a Bitcoin-only firmware that lets you use more advanced features like Multisig without the bloat of being able to support other coins/chains.
      All three options are fine, the main thing is that if you are planning to use something like an iPhone, then a Trezor won't work. (But the Onekey would)
      I would also always go with something other than an Ellipal, as they lock you into their vendor supplied software.

    Hello, great channel. Questions from a different video on finding lost ERC20 tokens...(FYI, I'm not great at these more esoteric parts of moving crypto around)...you kept mentioning "derivation" what is that and how does one use that in the search for the token? Also do you have to use MYEtherwallet in this process too? You had that tab open and went back to it a few times in the process...so when you've found the tokens, is the MYEthwallet the wallet that you use for those tokens (because they won't show up on your hardware wallet after all this, right? Thank you...overall the other steps seemed relatively straight forward.

      @@CryptoGuide GALA tokens...sent them (or tried to) from Coinbase to my hardware wallet (don't wanna give too much info out here on TH-cam but it's one of the two you included in your tutorial). the instructions from the hardware wallet seemed (now) deceptively simple ('just send the ER-C20 token to your ETH account)...but looking back the fee from coinbase was in GALA, not ETH so that was probably a clue (that i didn't pick up on). The network that was used from coinbase was ETH (i checked the record of the transaction)...does that make sense? thanks for your response!!! Overall I can understand what they are doing, but baking it into the firmware for everyone isn't good at all. That said, the actual detail of what they are doing is still pretty sparse, I'm curious to see what they will be sharing at their announcement thisarv.
      Overall there is no reason to panic and rush to change things in a hurry, especially if you haven't installed the latest Nano X firmware with this feature. Rush and panic is where people often make mistakes, lose funds, etc. If you decide to switch vendors, that is fine, but take the time to understand the device you are moving to, how to set it up, wipe, reset, etc.
