Come on people I put the video up for people to enjoy not argue amongst themselves. Enjoy the video for what it is, simply an educational idea of how it is made.
Rolex is a marketing guru. They make all of their movements in-house so they are a manufacture. Breitling only makes the B01 in house and the rest are modified ETA. That is where the price difference comes in. As far as quality they are on par.
@rw20220: The current B01 models, the Chronomat that replaced the Evolution, and the N01, the new Navitimer, both use the first ever totally in-house Breitling movement, the Calibre B01. It takes the Breitling Chronographs to a level not yet seen from the watchmaker.
Well, that's maybe why My new Breitling Navitimer 46mm Doesn't keep good time gains around 10 min: a day. It's designed for pilots and only works at 37000 feet. But that doesn't account for the button not working. It will go into its 3 settings, but nothing happens when you turn it. Now on its second trip to the repair shop in less than 11 months. Only hope that one day it'll work as I hopped it would when I get it back. One good thing I will say about it though the guarantee works. So at least it's not cost too much only for the postage. Thanking Buddha that I have another watch that works as a standby.
ACTual materials cost, labor, & what the finished product is sold for are 2 different things. nothing unfair about paying your people very well and giving them what they make millions upon millions of copies of.
After seeing the way they are made you do have to wonder why they command such a high price. I know your paying for the name but we are also paying for the research they do for new mechanisms etc. Still they appear to be mass produced so you would thing the price would be a lot less
I think you mean the room(s) where they take their own custom-made parts along with an unassembled collection of parts (an ébauche, for which they replace some parts with more custom parts) and then assemble together.
how do they do it.... I'll tell ya. my 3 year old Superocean chronograph 2 went in for a service 6 weeks ago at the tune of £560. they called today to say it needed further work £300 worth. Who's the theiving pirates. 3 years old £860. Disgusting!!! I've asked for customer complaints but guess what I was given a wrong email address. I won't stop until people understand these watches not only cost a fortune to buy but the upkeep is equally expensive.
I had a neighbour who was a Breiling worker, as these in the video. He has at least 10 models for his own. Y know they get this gear for, of course, much less money than common people usually do in a shop (no duties, no shop comission, etc). I´ve got mine from him, for a correct price, and still I have free maintenance :o). Besides, these guys really EARN money, or do you think they do it for a chinese salary?! This man I meant has a really goood life..., to work with Breitling u must be top.
I mean the mental vacation drug from Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World." (The name goes back ot an ancient Indian Ayurvedic drug, I believe.) If you saw the movie based on the book, there's a good scene showing people acting like robots as their efforts are rewarded with their (weekly?) drug allotment.
I hear you. I'm "between jobs" now. I would definitely take that. I would probably take some Soma to go with it, but I would take the job regardless. I'll find one soon or later, though I prefer sooner. :-)
@@freddiearkansas9441 - I don't know what is wrong with the world, but I am "between jobs" again and now there ain't no Soma. I am even older now and thus more brain dead. Pretty soon boring will be normal. :b Until then, maybe it's time to head to Arrakis and buy me some Spice.
That was going to be my next guess. I've read Brave New World, no need to explain! Yeah it does seem like a mindless job but I have a pretty redundant job and I dont have a Breitling. :(
rolex is what the neveau riche wear, phillip patek is what really rich people use, breitling is for aviation specialist and others who want the most accurate watch.
Don't complain. The more money they spend, the more economic activity takes place. It's when people with money to burn do NOT spend their money that we should have any issues.
yip its genuine , the agents have serviced it twice , Genuine junk , after the first service it came back with a thread stuck on the second indicator , I wont send it in again 2 services cost half the price of a new watch , R3800, per service thats 500 dollars per service wasted.
Woha... there is no reason to rag on Casio. I am a fan of mechanical watches, but I don't believe in putting down others just because. Casio is the best at what they do. I have a Casio I use for work, because I work at a place a Luxury watch would be pretty dumb to wear.

I have a Timex watch 40 yrs old that works Great! I have a Wenger watch that I love also. But it is Crap! It's like anything being assembled. The person doing the assembly...What day are they having or did the have last night!~You can buy a great working Rolex (USED) that looks new and most importantly Tells Time
I get RSI using my keyboard for too long (or using the mouse because of the small movements ) and continual use of the click on the mouse button...god only knows what type of injuries these workers get!!! Its staggering!!!
Humans are a funny lot. Look at these extremely and unnecessarily complex mechanical watches. They are far inferior to quartz digital watches. If not for marketing, this market would be dead (as would many). The degree of silliness we exhibit as a species is understandable but still profound. Luxury watch-making is so rooted in obsessive-compulsive excess that the process does a terrific job of highlighting how far and bizarre we'll go to expend the fruits of our labor, all in pursuit of 'fun'.
People like S. Q. are a nice example of delusioned, lost, irreal, snobistic mind. It is somewhat sad that a man searches for a bigger-than-life happiness and some kind of life fulfillment in one device. "Elegance" and "style" are completely subjective stuff. Casio is one of the brands with the best price-performance ratio. I've had several different Casio watches, they all work perfectly. Breitling watches are awesome, but definitely "overkill" for an average person whose daily functioning pattern does not require such an extraordinary timekeeping device.
Come on people I put the video up for people to enjoy not argue amongst themselves. Enjoy the video for what it is, simply an educational idea of how it is made.
Breitling make truly remarkable timepieces, I have a 15 year old colt with ETA 2824 mvt. Still ticking perfectly to this day.
11 year old Colt Automatic here, only 2 seconds behind.
18 year old Super O, +4 sec/day. Tough as nails, shiny and good looking in my opinion.
Transocean here, my second. A beautiful piece of art!
Have owned a Breitling Super Avenger Automatic watch for 12+ years. Amazing piece of accurate art.
not as accurate as quartz
I have an Omega 1968 Seamaster, still working perfectly ;)

Breitling is the best watch I've ever owned.
You obviously never wore a Rolex.
I did and sold it. Very disappointing watch.
+mac daddy Rolex or Breitling ?
***** Breitling of course.
+mac daddy Oh, did you buy a Rolex then ?

One of the best mid-brands with great history especially at chronographs. Top quality, accuracy and finishing regardless price.
I love chronographs but there is so much more that could go wrong with the added parts. you can't play with the pushers like one would do to a G-shock
thank you for helping me to know more . will do more research on this. the more I know the more I realize I know nothing.
And you thought the edge 540 was expensive...... this keeps it flying !
I have a breitling b01 chronomat two tone blue dial 18karat rose gold ❤️
Wish I could afford this beautiful craftsmanship.
Nice video from a while ago, thank you.

Ha. A Rolls- Royce of the wrist would be a Vacheron, AP or a Patek.
James Cubito rolex?

uh hum, and where is the room where they put in all of the ETA/Valjoux 7750 movements?
Would'nt titanium be a better material for housing the watch movement?
Titanium is lighter but far harder to manufacture. Also costlier.
The movement in this video is Breitling´s own inhouse movement, the B01.

It's the same shit, dude. Watches are a piece of art and is definitely not a waste of time no matter how you look at it...
Breitling has one in-house movement in production.
Watch making is a form of art, and Breitling has master it.
Cool.
What is Soma?

i really dont need to know the precised time everytime i check my watch, a minute or two off wont change my life. Great vid tho, thnx @sticustom

First it was carefully placed it on electron microscope and then whamm... the hammer test! O_O
I soo want to own one.
My mates uncle gave him a breitling and a cuple of days later my mate chucked it In the bin he didn't no they were worth a lot!

If you watched closely, you'd know what he was talking about. Each employee had a highly expensive watch on.
Who are you talking about Kyle?
Amazing!
Each worker is issued the watch on their first day, along with a lifetime supply of Soma.
Great Thanks!
This is cool, but the masters of time and the swiss watches that are 100% hand done are a lot cooler.

That was still a little harsh for a joke, you never know what people may think.
True but, correcting someone then saying "Am I to deduce you are not wearing a Breitling" is kind of arrogant.
Breitling.Mmmmmmmmmm.
I don't understand , there is calibers made from A to Z at Breitling in this video ! what about that Breitling uses ETA ready made Calibers ?
I dont know mate, if you haven't noticed, they're all wearing Breitlings on their wrists too...
So do so many other manufacturer's. And then they customize them.
Why not?
I wonder if they get a free Breitling watch when hired
Good but would nanny it all the time. Watches get scuffed easy
I wonder if the employees get to keep the watches they wear at work. If they do, does anyone have an application?!
I get RSI using my keyboard for too long (or using the mouse because of the small movements ) and continual use of the click on the mouse button...god only knows what type of injuries these workers get!!! Its staggering!!!
if i had the cash, i would buy one.....
LOL That would be funny I'd take this as my second job then :D:D: D:D:D:D:D:D::D:D
Breitling make the most accurate but fugly watchs
i screamed at 1:56
Rolex is founded by a Britt. Breitling is founded by a Swiss, and it's also older than Rolex.
Not the B01 movement shown it's in house.

you forgot blancpain and van cleef
every worker has a breitling on his wrist! i wonder if they have bought it...
As in the muscle relaxant? Was that a joke? hahaha
Cyborg assembly line. No wonder these are so expensive:)
FujinBeatz Almost every watch company uses an assembly line to produce their watches.
You use a videos from Patel Phillipe as they were from Rolex? It’s a shame.
