- Mr. Beat and Chris from @VloggingThroughHistory came up with 10 open-ended questions for each other and didn't tell each other what the questions were ahead of time. This was the conversation that resulted.
They also took questions from the audience.

Always a blast when Mr. nixon and Mr. Beast collab.
VTH actually reminds me of Glenn Greenwald a bit
Hey that's Mr. BREAST :)
Sam Nixon and Mr. Breast are always a delight
Wow! The two men I have framed photos of hanging above my bed are finally in another stream together! Thank you!
😊
Are you in then as well? If not then….. lol?
Are you fr💀💀💀💀
ayo?
Bro, I mean this in a loving way, but if you’re serious that you actually do that, you should take those photos down. It’s creepy.
Before this livestream I was sick, morose, and divorced; but now that Mr Beat and Vlogging through History have done another collab I’m happy to share that I am healthy, happy, and my wife didn’t leave me.
Woah me too
@@zanytime congratulations!
You gentlemen are both models of what can and eventually will make our country stronger and better. Keep up the positive work.
Thank you so much!
Will watch this later, thank u Matt! My 2 favourite history TH-camrs back together again.😊
This was so fun!
I really like both of your channels. Thanks so much for this conversation. :)
Thanks for listening!
Thanks to both, the guys rekindled my love for history, love from India
I love to hear this. Thanks for sharing! :)
Been waiting for this one! Love both you and VTH and so excited to watch this
I have watched a number of your live streams and this was the best yet. It held my interest for the 3 plus hours. It was informative and heartening to listen to two people who may not agree with one another not be disagreeable! It was great. I think you should do it again
Love both of your channels; addicted to both. Glad to be here and glad to participate in such a friendly and respectful community.
PS: Mr. Beat, I love every single one of your videos and I watch your series like Supreme Court Briefs and the Presidential Elections in a marathon. However, my favorite videos are those of forty minutes where you look on a famous character in American History, like the video about Ike or Hoover, their biography and legacy, whether good or bad. It would be amazing if you did more, about Charles Sumner, Harriet Tubman, Robert E. Lee, Nixon etc.
Greetings from Chile!
Great feedback. Thank you so much! Oh, and Harry Truman will be the next biography!
So glad you’re doing this video. So much love from both fandoms. Keep the great content coming.
two of my favorite history channels! love this!
I thought the last half hour or so of this video was absolutely fantastic!!
Just got back from vacation. What a wonderful video to get back into the swing of things, too.
So glad you enjoyed Scotland so much lol
haha yeah we really did love it
Great show, thanks!
Thanks for being here Gael!
You're both fascinating men and have a lot of knowledge between you, I thoroughly enjoy both of your videos.
One thing that helped me as a young man when it came to politics was surrounding myself with people who were much older than me, and folks that had different opinions to me. I was what you would consider pretty far left and wanted radical change, I then met one of my great friends who is 40 years older than me. I learnt from him the quote "politics is the art of the possible". He unknowingly made me reflect on my beliefs and now I try to judge politicians and even just people in general based on merit rather than pre conceives biases. I would now consider myself a pragmatist and a moderate, a complete flip on my first political views. Surrounding yourself with people of different worldviews is an enlightening and exciting experience.
Hey guys, this was so great. I’m a sub of you both. I’m a 52 year old TH-camr that focuses on Canadian history and culture. I sort of fell into it but as a history major in college my reviews are more, well, more than superficial. But I relate so much with some of the things you say about the way people react. Most are great but some very nasty trolls. And I do experience some anti-Americanism, mostly from younger people. A huge difference between us is that I have a professional career and I don’t do this as a job. But it’s still helpful to hear some of your experiences. If I were a bigger channel I’d love to collaborate but I know my subject matter is too niche and too small since it really is just a hobby for me. As for what you two do, I respect the hell outa ya and keep collaborating. We love it. Peace my friends.
Two legends talking to each other for 3 hours? Love it.
May I just say Mr. Beat that your dad jokes/dry humor are always appreciated on my part 😁
Would love to see these guys in the same room together on stream
Love to see these videos
"oh the audience doesn't like that, I need to stop doing that" - not necessarily, you can't please everyone. You do you, people are here for a reason. Thanks for all your hard work Mr Beat! Love the videos ❤
I didn't even need Chris to answer his own question #10. There's not a doubt in my mind the answer is 1912. I can't say if he'd rather give Taft a 2nd term or Roosevelt a 3rd, but there's no way in hell he'd pass up a chance to get rid of Woodrow Wilson.
Oh crap, yeah 1912 is another good one to bring up.
Yep 1912 would have been my answer.
@@VloggingThroughHistory I knew it, but if I may ask which one would you rather have seen; a 2nd term for Taft or a 3rd for Roosevelt?
The 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party is on Dec 16th are you planning to do a show about it maybe with other history channels?
Somebody please tell Chris, he is the spitting image of Jordan Schlansky.
Great video!
Great chat fellas. Two great role models for TH-camrs. Mr. Best, where did you go to college?
Mr beat when to Kansas State University
I have been waiting a year for this
I remember the pop to soda shift in Washington. Early 90s everyone called it pop. End of the 90s it was maybe 50/50. End of 2000s was like 75/25
Hey folks! This was a very interesting conversation to overhear and I listened to the entire video.
One small thing to consider is that as a Canadian, I wouldn’t really describe our country as a “mix of scandinavian and american”. The only difference in the welfare states between Canada and the US is the single payer healthcare system, but we both have out of pocket college, we both have extremely similar cities with separated commerical and residential real estate, we both have loose regulations on junk foods, etc.
Canada and the US are large, federalist and freedom oriented while Scandinavian countries are small, centralized and focused on the benefit of the group (society).
Dan Carlin did an excellent episode of Hardcore History called The American Peril which covered the Spanish American War. In it, he mentioned Teddy Roosevelt's decision to join the fight in Cuba and said that we liked to call pro-war politicians who avoid military service "chicken hawks." He said Roosevelt was a "hawk hawk"
You can't tell me Chris isn't Tony Romo's twin brother
I graduated Emporia State in 2009 too. Not a great time to find teaching jobs! I also had to sub that first year. Then I went to seminary and into ministry. No wonder I like both you guys, lol.
Mr Beat. You look great. You sense of humor is quirky and cute. Tell all you na-sayers to pound sand!
love you guys
There is a Midwestern charm and affability that just doesn’t exist in the east. Or at least thats how i have felt the times i have been to the east and west coast.
You guys should stream the election when that time comes, you guys are fun to listen to. :D
I think you should interview Sean Munger next!
Damn, I was hoping for Mr Beard. Where's he at these days?
I’m literally watching the whole video at 1.75x 😅
He should have given some reasons why he think we need the electoral college.
Yeah I was hoping he would.
Great convo!
I'm glad you dug it!
I wish these two guys were the 2024 presidential candidates
I would like Mr Beat to do a Gettysburg or Gods and Generals reaction video
My favourite TH-camrs😊
❤😊❤😊
😊❤
As an Austrian it‘s pretty surprising to hear that an American didn‘t do the Sound Of Music tour😊 good for you though
Can you please do a livestream going over the legacy of Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor?
I’m from southern Illinois and my accent sounds like I’m from Kentucky
10 questions??? Why’s the video 3 hours long😭😭😭
My church almost called a minister who got a BS in Biology in college, so it takes all kinds!!
Who will you do for your next President biography?
Harry Truman
go beat go
Man I haven’t watched a CPG Grey video since that whole stuff went down with VTH, not sure I ever will again. Even though it’s largely resolved it’s just left a bad taste in my mouth since
I recently rewatched the election returns for 1980. Blue was for Republicans and Red was for Democrats. This was NBC news.
I find neither Trump nor Biden inspiring honesty that’s just me
Mr. Beat, is the use of colorful metaphors allowed on your channel? 🤔
2:54:35
Watching this all these months later, I still 100% agree with what Chris said and it’s sad that Nikki Haley didn’t win the nomination
1:31:34 Youth is wasted on the young
The war with Japan was not an economic issue. True they went to war with us because we were withholding oil, but we weren't withholding oil just to do it. We weren't withholding it for economic reasons we were withholding it because of their war with China. The ideologically based war with China was the reason for the withholding of oil, not economics.
History doesn't deserve to be age restricted. It's graphic, it's horrible and that's precisely why we need to talk about it. It's not like the Nazis age restricted their genocide.
does this chris dude got a million subscribers like mister beat ?
Bringing up the situation in Israel is always difficult, but I think it was unavoidable. I think you both did a good job at handling this topic in a nuanced way.
But I disagree with the statement that conflicts can (mostly) only end via eradication of one side. Crazier things then peace in the Middle East have happened in history. The conflict in Northern Ireland had a lot of parallels to the situation in Israel, but that one eventually came to an end. Northern Ireland isn’t exactly the calmest region nowadays, but after decades of violence a peaceful live there is now normal. My own country, Germany, and France had a long standing feud that goes back in varying intensity to at least 1814, probably even further back. And yet those to countries are as closely integrated nowadays as two independent states can be. And we shouldn’t forget that the Arab-Israeli conflict got partially solved. Egypt was probably the leader of the anti-Israel coalition in the 20th century and committed so much violence against its ancient Jewish population, to the point that a thousands of years old culture is nowhere to be found now. And yet both countries came to an agreement and Egypt of all countries received support from Israel during the uprising in the Suez peninsula just recently.
Even if it looks incredibly bleak right now and it may take quite a while, we’re always just a few right decisions away from peace and given enough time it’s happens more often than not. Or I’m just naive, that could also be the case.
Love you both but have to correct you on Taylor Swift. After she won her first Grammy she literally wrote her third album entirely by herself because of people assuming she let her co writers do all the work. Multiple co writers have openly said working with Taylor is different and she does the bulk of the lyrics, and a lot of the time all the lyrics and they do the beat. Sorry it was just the worst example you could’ve used but yes most pop stars write just a few lines per song, if any.
Thanks for the correction!

History Suppression has become an astronomical problem
I am and Icelandic, you are welcome any time, you can even ststay at my house for free!
Mowry? he has family ties to colonial RI
55:49 exactly lol screw the imperialist war machine
Really Mr Beat? Three hour video for 20 questions? LoL
We just get to talking ya know! lol
@@iammrbeat Suggestion: don't do another tierlist but do a top 46 list. Rate them all but without the incumbent. All the luck with your channel Beat.
1:41:34 amazing how right after both of you play "both sides" with Israel/Palestine, you get a superchat about the Holocaust. Would you play "both sides" with that too?
Credit to I think Wisecracked for this first element: What is worse than having a portrait of Hitler on your wall? Henry Ford was such a monster Hitler had a portrait of him on his office wall.
Ford's influence on Jim Crow era policy was exported to 1930s Germany and to South Africa in the form of Apartheid in the way he pushed segregation policy. He was an epic tur--- ly bad person. If he hadn't been head of Ford motor company someone else would have entered the market place and took his spot, he is an enormous net negative, it's this narcissism inspired American Exceptionalism that inspired Übermensch v lebensunwert leben thinking in Berlin and the authoritarian caste system in Johannesburg.
I loved there points when they said that everyone who is on both Israel and Palestine’s side should just get along just like supporters of Trump and Biden Democrats and Republicans here in the US should get along without demonizing and dehumanizing the other side. To be all of that is disgusting with how people treat each other.
Disappointed in the take on Palestinian and israel, its not a complicated problem when 40k are murdered. Is that not the definition of genocide?
Idk why ppl pretend that VTH is mutually beneficial for the content creators who he steals from.
What he does is clearly unethical
I fully support CGP grey you’re a cool guy VTH but og content is just better and react content is just bleh and no effort is involved
❤😊❤😊
