Bloody good ride that highway. Not blowing my own horn but late one night I drove from Mcbeth road Hikaui to Thames hospital just under 18 minutes in a holden station wagon. Wife went into full blown anaphylactic shock.
These roads were a little slippy near the top and coming down the other side but there was no hurricane strength winds to deal with at the same time so that was a bonus
Why da fk did ur mate stop there fk wit Nah but fanx man great ride rode dat road fr yrs lived up the top jus b4 tarakihikihi hd mny mean as memories of hikiwai n lions rock an the road looks good chch bro ride on ftw
They hold up pretty good in the light rain but if it's long lasting heavy rain then either cover it or take it off. One time I had to leave it on during a sustained torrential downpour and afterwards it started playing up so I had to take the unit apart and leave it for a day in a warm room with a dehumidiifier and then it was good as new.

That's a good clip mate, the old Holdens were a fun drive back in the day, bench seats and column change. Living the dream 🤘😎
Great vid Hugh, had me a little apprehensive just watching it tho with the roads a little wet after my SI experience but great to see tho mate.

Glad you enjoyed it. My buddy was leading the ride and there are about 20 plus bikes behind us so we stop from time to time to regather the crew.
Good effort on a less than ideal day. Thanks for sharing. I have the same radar detector. I was told not to get it wet in the rain?
