3 weeks ago, I bought a used 2017 iPad Pro 12.9" and an Apple pencil - which I haven't used yet. Love the less strain on my eyes. Cost for both together was CHF 355.- Another CHF 15 for a case, CHF 30 for a nice bluetooth page turner pedal and CHF 10 for a screen protector.
Thanks ! I just came back from the Apple store today in July 2024, hoping that I had not made a huge mistake. I bought the iPad Air 13". I had expected to purchase the iPad pro but the price was prohibitive ! But with what you say here, I did not need the iPad Pro, the Air will be fully sufficient for my needs ! I now feel confident, thanks again 🙂
Use the original 'ipad pro 12.9 from 2016 with forscore, works like a charm storing all my sheetmusic with annotations. The battery is getting old but I always have a powerbank ready. Had a wedding gig outside on a beach, windy and sunny. Didnt see anything on the screen. Luckily I remembered the songs and didnt need to read….
If you are filming videos for an auditions 0 round with the iPhone 15 Pro or 16 Pro the new iPad Pro can control and mirror camera screen from the iPhone. So, maybe for those, who plan to change orchestras frequently, especially for younger people, that might be a reason. But only if the already have a good BOW or instrument.
This is so very helpful! I've been seriously considering buying an iPad for sheet music the past couple months and was thinking of buying an iPad pro a gen back (now that apple has released the new ones). I didn't even realize the new air model had a 13 inch screen (sort of a non-negotiable for me with the iPad and reading music). Very helpful and informative. I appreciate the insight!
I have been using an Ipad pro 3. generation for music. I broke it the other day and finding the right solution is giving me headaches! I would only use it for forscore Pro so most of the features I wont be using… anyway good review!
I ordered my Air and pro pen Tuesday after the Apple event. I’m excited not to print sheet music anymore!!!!! Thanks for letting others know about it.
What storage did you get?
I’ve used an IPad for my music for several years and am in the market for a new one. This video helped a lot. Thanks!!
Good to hear!
I’ve been thinking about going to 4score but would want a bigger iPad. Your review is very helpful in deciding.
Oh! How timely! I have no expertise in the field so no idea of the parameters to consider. Thank you so Much!!

Ipad Air 6 screen good for eyes?
Useful review thank you!
Thank you for this as I'm considering using a tablet for music. I'm also looking at Android tablets to see if they offer the same functions.
Yeah, check out the Samsung Galaxy Tab series
Can you use ForScore's face gesture page turning on the iPad Air?
I guess so,I have ues my iPad 10th and air m2 11 inch and camera is in same area so should be work on 13 inch
I don't know and I wasn't able to find out anything concrete - best guess would be yes?? But unsure

Exactly what I needed to know. Thanks Josh.

Ahh, right! Camera control/monitoring on the Pro is potentially very handy if it's something you need!
Very helpful…..thank you 👍
