The reason why they chose a 38 years old construction worker to become the main character as opposed to a teenager is because it’s about strategy and kingdom politics.
Construction Worker? I'm pretty Sure Rimeru was an office worker prior to his new life but I may be wrong 😅 🤔
I get that world building and political aspirations are a major part of the story
But they are far from the only thing. The manga didn't spend half as much time on this portion of the story as far as I remember.

@@SauceySenpaiI mean firstly the manga isn't very accurate to the source material the light novel and obv reading dialogue is much faster anyways then listening voice actors deliver them
Maybe you forgot that this anime is not typical isekai that mostly in fighting but this anime is also building and development genre thats why.... It is not boring it is good in every detail
I'm fine with that but 7 episodes is a bit excessive especially with nothing really happening in between these meetings

Then why are you watching an isekai? This would be like someone who only watches action movies complaining about a rom-com for being a rom-com.
Yes, there are fighting aspects, but this isn't a shonen anime. Half of this anime is geopolitics and most of the rest is fan service.
That's funny you say that as I watch a lot of anime and Isekai in particular. I'm complaining that this season is dragging on with no thing but exposition and recap information they spent 2 episodes just doing recap and the next 5 talking about politics and planning the previous seasons while they contained this did not have 7 straight episodes of meandering talking
Maybe my patience was thin because I've read the manga up to the current point and it didn't drag like this.

This anime is all about world building which means politics and meetings most of the time it's gonna get boring if you're not invested in the story and just looking for action it's not the anime for you and i really don't know what to tell you but i hope you still give it a chance I'm a light novel reader of this anime and all i can say is the story is really good
I agree the story is good it just feels like they are dragging it out unnecessarily the previous seasons had meetings plannings and the recap and exposition but this one really feels extra
It's honestly one of my favorite anime ever (excluding this season) I read the manga up to and past the upcoming fight with hinata and I dont remember the pacing being like this

I personally like it, my problem with high fantasy animes is they tend to forget they're high fantasy, meaning it's set in a completely different alternate world. The focus should be on the political and technical aspects of the world. I find it off-putting to watch an isekai full of action but always left me wondering how it affects the order of things and the world it's set in.
What I like about that time I got reincarnated as a slime is that it is a good mixture of both this latest season didn't feel that way but I'm still watching and the last 2 episodes have picked up and had that good mix

If we were to classify Slime as a game rather than a TV show, it would be far closer to a City/World builder with an intricate political system, not a fighting game. At best you would expect the occasional cut-scene type fights. There will be fighting with the eastern empire and angels in later seasons.
Yea this has really put the brakes to the series I don't remember the pace of the manga being this slow at all
idk whats so bad about it atleast the anime wants you to understand everything as good as possible if i look at other isekais they lack this typ of world building and just have pointless filler episodes that dont add anything to the anime.
The problem I personally have with it is it is drawn out and unnecessarily boring 2 episodes of recap and 5 of exposition they could have done this in 3 episodes it takes the 8th episode for things to happen and there is still talking and world building in that episode mixed with some action/movement. That's the issue I had with the season up to the point of the video. I'm not against world building and talking but I don't think that is all there should be in an anime (unless it's a slice of life one) especially for that many episodes in a row
One of my favorite isekai anime is Log Horizon and that has a lot of World building and Political intrigue as an example 😀

As someone whos read atil chapter 12 so far. The pacing is definetly slower after the walpergus. Theres lots of good stuff but also lots of politics, and no amazing fights for rimiru after hinata.

Second part of the season may be better, but it'll definetly depend on how they animate it. After hinata rimiru doesn't grow too much ability wise. It'll mostly be him growing his nation. Or others fighting battles for the most part. Which is very large change so understandable people will be upset.
