  • Sixers LINKED to Devin Carter ahead of NBA Draft...
The NBA Draft is inching closer and the Sixers have the 16th pick in the first round. Sean Barnard reacts to the latest mock draft having the Sixers select Devin Carter. He breaks down what stands out in Carter’s game and discusses his outlook for why the Sixers should not be in as much of a rush to trade the pick as they seem to be.

Devin Carter potential to compete on guarding and playing off ball strength to getting closer to the screens set to playing off the court

I've been on the record that the sixers should not trade this year's pick, given that I wouldn't think a kid with those qualities would last til 16.

I have liked everything I've seen from Devin Carter.. hes 22 which is a good age too draft at (he can come in right away and contribute and can do it all.) My only concern is Miami at 15.
I dont see how Miami doesnt draft him If he's there unless someone significant projected to go top 10 slides.
I've seen Mocks with Miami taking Zach Edy and that does not make any sense AT ALL.
I would like to see the 76ers keep their draft pick if possible this year.
The future is just as important as the present.

Yeah he feels like a Heat player but I would hate to see it happen. At the top of my list for the Sixers for now

I can see Miami taking a Collier
they might need a lead guard and can afford to develop his jumper
plus he's stocky too, think Miami likes those kinda players

@@fpl_djhammer anything is possible however Collier is way too raw of a prospect for Miami(at there current stage with how their roster is contructed) to take him with their first pick. Plus Riley likes his guards to defend 1-3. Carter has a 6-9 wingspan being 6'3. Collier is basically the same height with a 6'4 wingspan which shows right there that he will most likely have trouble guarding guards or forwards bigger then him.
The 76ers & Heat may have similar interests with who they want to draft as well. Both still have a win now window.. they are going to want to draft someone that can contribute right away you'd think. Carter is one of those prospects that can contribute day 1. One thing I will say though is Miami is much better at developing players then the 76ers so who knows what direction Miami will go in.
Only way I see Miami drafting Collier is if they have plans to flip him later or if hes the best available but if both Carter & Collier are there at 15 I think the Heat go Carter.

@@rupertpupkin2660 just said I can see them taking him and the type of player that they'd be good at developing
anyway, we don't really know the direction of where Miami is heading
Collier could go to Utah, Toronto, wherever that needs/has time to develop a prospect like him

I like Devin Carter, the sixers need rebounding, and I don't care if he is a guard.
