First of, thank you for cooking one of many Cambodian dishes that I love. I’ve heard of the name used in the US. In Cambodia, we simply call it: cha kuy teav or kuy teav cha. There’s no meat and we eat it with chives also. It’s one of a very popular street food in Cambodia. Some people refer to it as Student Noodle in the US, for the fact that students are poor, therefore they can not afford to eat it with meat. These names Mee Kola and Student Noodles are used interchangeably in the US. When I cook it, I use fresh noodle. But it’s too sticky to stir. Next time, I will use the dry noodle but a small size, not a medium size. Thank you for the tip and for showcasing our food. I really enjoy watching your video. Have a great summer.

You are right. I’m sorry about that, they are two different kind of noodle dishes. I’ve never heard of mee kola before until now in the US.

@@Vicklanxang it is ok.. don’t need to be too angry for that. I am kola and don’t fell offended. Lots of people don’t know kola people and the traditional mee kola because they don’t even know kola people exist. Pailin was lately added to Cambodian territory and Battambang province. And so the dish was made also by Khmer people and in a way.. it became Khmer (and kola people became also part of Khmer people). (I am a Kola from France 🇫🇷)

@@sadethlee9309 dont worry. I think you fell on a very kola person ahha.. the thing is that our culture is disappearing and so I guess this is why some people can feel angry about the fact we mixed up things. My father is kola my mother is Khmer and I appreciate your effort to cook for our community

Good afternoon! Thank you for this amazing dish. Wanted to hop on earlier but had to take a call from a family member who is in hospital. My reason for mentioning this is to say that your videos share more than recipes. They bring a welcomed calm and beauty. Again thank you and have a wonderful weekend!

I love your TH-cam channel, your videos are very relaxing and educative on Asian cuisines. You remind me of other channel I watch all the time, “Yeung Man Cooking “, except he’s vegan. Can you put more videos out of vegan dishes, I’m vegan myself and I take your recipes and substitute vegan meat to make your dishes.

Where you buy the mortar and pestle? Can you send the link?

I bought it from my local Asian grocery store. You can check at your local Asian grocery store and they also sell them online too, but it’s more expensive if you buy online.
