As others have mentioned this tobacco is supposed to be dry. I saw where someone suggested to pack it VERY TIGHT. This seems to work for this blend. A very enjoyable smoke on a warm day. You may want to revisit this blend in another video. Always enjoy your videos
Ahahaha. I love the "bowling alley shoe" description. This stuff is burley for sure, but it has a funky quality to it. It's almost like mushroomy or something. I bought the "Brumeuse" version of this: it's a thicker cut than the reserve du patron. I basically opened the foil and dumped it straight into a large mason jar. It does smoke just fine super dry. I don't smoke this super often, but I'm glad I've got it! There's nothing like it. The weirdest thing to me are the giant stem chunks in it, but they smoke just fine too! I love super weird, unique blends. I am a big lakeland blend fan for example. Have you done any of those? I'll have to look through your backlog of videos.
Thanks, lol. I did Bob's Chocolate Flake. I am NOT a fan of Lakeland blends based on that, and from what I hear it's actually a pretty light lakeland flavor?
This was entertaining! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I think my end experience came close to yours - it was just so stinking dry, and that lead to a burnt-out taste in my mouth, especially since my cadence is faster and hotter than most I think. I couldn't get myself to keep it; I knew I wasn't touching the stuff again. I dont think you can obtain this tobacco any other way (in terms of packaging) so this must be the experience they are going for. But regardless, this was fun to watch and Im glad you decided to try it!
Glad you found it entertaining and that we shared a similar experience. I just don't even know the logic behind not controlling the humidity with a vacuum seal. It's wild. But somewhere in this world, people must be enjoying it.
Great video. Semois tobacco is intended by the grower to be bone dry. I have to assume they have tested it at different levels of moisture. The same family in Belgium has grown it for years.
I am a huge Semois fan. Vincent Manil makes a truly unique product. I have had his "La Brumeuse" on the shelf and in the cellar for at least 15 years. . Not what i would call comp\lex, but rather simple excellence. Glad you have made his acquaintance. Good rule of thumb for these blends is to leave it dry, pack it extra tight and sip it extra slow. Rehydrating this does it no favors. Enjoy!
I really enjoy Semois. I get buttered popcorn flavor. No reason to jar. It is totally supposed to be bone dry. DO NOT HYDRATE!!! You buy more tobacco and no water.😂
The dryness is as intended. No fault of your donor. Definitely unique.
Then I simply don’t like it I guess.

We’ll see. For now I have no desire to return to it.
Don't have any, just here to smoke with you 💨💨💨
Good to have you!
been trying to watch this for a week, sorry. sounds like something i should try.
Good luck with it! I'll happily give you mine if we have a chance to see each other again.
@@amanrelaxes actually I was going to see if you wanted to.

Well I’ll let them and their decendents enjoy it then. 🤷♂️
Hello. I’m a new subscriber here. Just wanted to know what kind of lighter that you’re using in the video. Thanks!
Welcome! It's a Kiribi Kabuto short.

Thanks for the tips!
Nothing like the sweet smell of manure in the morning😂😂😂 sounds like an interesting blend. I might try that.
I hope you have a better time with it than I did. 😂

That’s wild. I just don’t get it.
Do NOT try to rehydrate it. It will just get moldy. A great smoke, but go slow, since it will go like a puff if you don't.
Thanks for the tip.
I wasn't a fan of this tobacco. Not nuch flavor.
Was the dryness an issue for you?
@amanrelaxes it's supposed to be that dry
That's the word on the street, but was it an issue for you?
@@amanrelaxes nope.
