  • Kwasi Kwarteng has set out the government's new approach to the economy in a mini budget - officially known as a "fiscal event" - today, 23 September.
The chancellor announced tens of billions of pounds in both increased spending and tax cuts this morning.
Ahead of the mini budget, Mr Kwarteng had already confirmed that the national insurance hike introduced by Boris Johnson's government will be reversed.
He is also set to remove the cap on bankers' bonuses and axe a planned increase in corporation tax from 19% to 25%.

Crushing the people who are struggling the most doesn't come as a surprise from these over privileged Tories. The meager Universal Credit is already forcing people into debt, crime & hopelessness. Most on this dire benefit don't have the skills or the education to find better paid work. Forcing them to find imaginary work whilst giving more to big corporation's & already rich bankers has all the hallmarks of a out of touch government & feudal society. These extortionate energy bills & inflated food prices will kill the most the elderly & vulnerable. This is all by design! This is their 'build back better'. Put it simply, it's evil.

I used to believe the lie, that the Tories were money grabbing, heartless p****s, that only look out out for their own pocket, and don't get me wrong, there are quite a few.
But then I wised up to the fact that Labour (at least in london), are far worse!
Labour outside of London may not be as bad. But in London, they are everything the Tories are accused of, and much more.
They allow housing estates to become dilapidated, vermin infested s**tholes, sometimes to save money for ridiculously expensive, bullsh** projects, that never go anywhere, but companies used in those projects (linked to the party), always make a killing.
They then cry "poverty", and say that the gov are under funding them (which is strange, as gov grants/funding is only around 10% of Councils budget, and usually for public services, not for estate upkeep etc).
But sometimes, as I have seen several times by Southwark, Lambeth and lewisham, it's so they have an excuse to knock them down. They issue Compulsory Purchase Orders on the homeowners, at a fraction of the price (giving people 100k for a property 3 bed property worth 300k. This example was in 2009 by Southwark Council. Would be worth 600k now. So they effectively, they bought back the land at a fraction of the price), leaving some just enough to pay their mortgage off, but homeless, and needing to join the council waiting list or rent privately.
Thousands of the council tenants are also moved on to the already overwhelmed council waiting list (at the very top of it), and given 2 years to find somewhere in the borough.
All with the promise that they would have first refusal on the newly built, luxury apartments.
They then say that they have run out of funds to complete the builds, and have to sell all the apartmens off plan to foreign investment companies, or giant foreign corporations that kind of use them as a company hotel for visiting CEOs etc (in this case, Chinese. But a lot of the time, also Russians).
The 1 beds are valued at over £1m. A few of the buildings have private swimming pools, gyms, cinemas etc. There are 3,300 apartments and houses. Dont know how much the 3/4 beds are worth, but you can imagine.
The money the council made on it, was insane. Yet they still claim to have no money to build new affordable homes.
They also remain empty half of the time.
This particular example is from Southwark. The then Lib Dem leader, Simon Hughes (plus many other MPs, of all parties), accused the forever Labour run council, of corruption and money laundering during the project.
This grift, in slightly different variations (but to a much lesser extent regarding money involed), has been repeated by Southwark, Lewisham and Lambeth, more than once.
Most Tory run boroughs (which are mainly in Outer London), are usually (in comparison), clean, with well kept housing estates, streets, with better public services.
There are exceptions of course, on both sides. But the exceptions are not the rule. I believe for example, that Corbyn had his heart in the right place, but most of his policies were bonkers, that would've had devastating repercussions.

The Ukraine war will have massive impact on base foods. Not just because of they are the "bread basket" of Europe (and half Africa I believe), but because of transportation issues once this fuel crissis hits us completely. Heating our homes will be just one of many problems.
Maybe the Gov know we're screwed, but screaming "We're doomed" will cause panic. A slow lowering into the problem, stage by stage, might take the edge off it for some, and not cause as bad a reaction with rioting, food storing etc🤷🏻‍♂️

The only way you beat inflation is government invest in infrastructure to reduce overheads and waste you do it by becoming more efficient. this doesn't mean employing less people it means providing a quality service right first time with minimal delay that meets customers expectations and is easily understood. Infrastructure can mean concrete structures or internet services for example. Confusion and corruption and distortion should be avoided and accountability should be transparent.

Before everyone starts to criticise the new chancellor and Prime Minister, we need to first of all review our corporation tax rate and compare it with Irelands.
Their tax rate is low and has the highest growth rate out of every European country. I think Ireland has something like a 10% growth rate, so we need to give this a lot more time for everything to bed itself down.
But corporations also need to have confidence that the UK isnt going to increase the corporation tax as soon as labour or another Chancellor and Prime Minister take office next.
We can only see positive growth if confidence can be restored between companies and government. And this is the bit that i feel will ruin any chance of this working.

In addition mothers can use virtual curriculum to educate children, with virtual tutors, educators or using virtual libraries. Self determination does not only involve government but also for citizens. Universities are virtual. Citizens that are educated should not be forced to accept low paying positions nor should they have any income reduced since many are already engaged with government business remotely like yourselves. Bankers are stealing incomes in conjunction with municipalities charging high rents for sheer profit to capture the net incomes of citizens. The banks interest is profit, by oppressing citizens by preventing citizens from building independent wealth instead to profit in the mortgage markets. Many single mothers are already virtually engaged. All they require is a salary with income taxes deducted and benefits, to support what they already do, advocating for children’s medical needs, educating them virtually with computerized curriculum, preparing nutritious food, planning recreational or social opportunities, plus they contribute intellectually with government, often with zero support or help from fathers who abandon parental responsibility including financial support. Men on the other hand can work and have complete freedom to do so. The economy is a mess due to the lack of income for educated citizens. I am not impressed with sone of your ideas that’s for sure. Get everyone drunk so they get sick or don’t engage responsibly. What a dumb idea! Why charge students for education? Teachers that present material already get paid, plus citizens can access information virtually to Kearney anything at all. Students also are the ones doing all the work, reading, assimilating knowledge, and accessing universities remotely. Intelligence take time and effort to accumulate knowledge. Pay students instead, deducting income taxes from their payroll, after all education is never ending as people are paid to talk, like yourselves!!

Bunch of kids squabbling in the classroom. 🤣 I have had two companies collapse during Con-vid without a single penny to support any of them. I have been self-employed for 14 years and paid my taxes every year!! I am now out of work with no support other than a poorly run, outdated benefits system that is backlogged for millions of people who are struggling to make ends meet. I have never been in any debt in 43 years! until I was forced to take out a £500 loan from them to cover me and my family for the next 6 weeks until we received our first entitled payment from universal credit?? Which we would have been paid by Working tax credits anyway for that specific 6-week period or Until our U.C payment was provided! However, they cancel working tax credit from the day you change over to Universal Credit and force you to take out the debt for which money you are actually entitled to in the first place! Peace out all but I bet 85% of these scum bags got handouts during this ridiculous borrowing frenzy from a Con-vid experiment which we are all now having to pay them back for.! I faking hate them all!

1% for the working man/woman is that not an insult? I hoped he would raise the personal threshold from £12.5k to £15.0k this would help all tax payers much more and encourage growth at the same time - I feel a massive missed chance to help most of us! The Conservative party are doomed at the next General election.

There are better ways to manage the economy to eliminate social income programs in place of realistic incomes with income taxes deducted, especially for single mothers collaborating virtually with global government networks, to eliminate poverty , by cancelling meaningless employment. In a highly educated society we are using our education to share our intelligence together remotely. Why create employment for useless programs that oppress citizens for government departments that only serve to request trillions for for food banks, daycares, municipal community housing corporations costing trillions, whereby, citizens can otherwise own their own homes, paying reasonable property taxes together, start small businesses to share together, including urban vertical stacked agriculture controlled remotely not unlike satellites 🛰 in space. Then we can use light rail to distribute fresh foods to corner grocers instead of the junk food filled with preservatives, that adversely impact health. We are all educated
