It feels amazing to see that the HEC area is getting developed. The roads are getting wider with cycle lanes and new, wider footpaths. They didn't cut the trees for this development, and traffic and drainage have never been a problem for us. The traffic was always smooth, and on rainy days, waterlogging never happened. I liked the old divider with the golden duranta and flowers in between. The township is a gem for those who live here. It's more of an emotion to us because of those tree canopies and those yellow and pink flowers on the footpaths early in the morning.
I remember when we used to go shopping in Upper Bazar, Main Road, and Lalpur. It was always traffic and honking all around. But when we returned home and entered Check-Post (near the Indian oil petrol pump), the temperature difference because of the trees and the silence no honking traffic was like a blessing. We felt blessed that we were raised in an area that was different from Ranchi. For us, the old Vidhan Sabha is "Russian Hostel". Our family and colony uncles and anty even joke that we won't be able to live in Lalpur or Ratu road.

😅😅 old memories do remind us of what we left back in time and now moving ahead... As you mentioned about the "Russian Hostel", usually my mother also at times tell me as they used to go to Jagannath Mela and many other stories.
I totally agree that earlier that area was silent and temperature would drop but now it's all changed
