    This was filmed prior to me announcing that I’ll be deleting my TikTok on December 31st, 2024.
    Instagram (in the description) will be my main social media platform heading into 2025, I’ll be posting almost daily from January 1st.

      Your approach to TikTok is wrong. However you must be willing to go live for hours to make money which is what other creators do . Personally I have abandoned instagram and prefer TikTok. Each to their own. It’s a more fun experience. Anyway what you should do is simply make a few videos, go live a few times for 2/3 hours each . Do that a couple of times . Dont pay to promote your videos/content . As far as I know that’s not compulsory, it’s optional. Again going live is where the money is at on TikTok and you might not be willing to give that time like that American guy Parker who must spend 12 hours a day live talking about Trump and taking calls . He seems to make a lot of money from gifts 🎁 and direct donations.

      @@knownpleasures I did try to give TikTok a chance, but it’s clear they don’t see any value in my content being on their platform, outside of me paying to have it there of course, that’s the reason for my decision.
      I may return at a future point in time, but for right now, I just don’t see the value in TikTok for me as a smaller creator.

      You can at least keep your channel but don't update with new content, then later on you might wanna return and then you got your account, no need to create a new...

    It's good to know you spent some money and have skin in the game...I listen to you more than others that have their Blu rays given and sent to them to review and have no money invested then we get a 'paid" review from them...at least we know you weren't bought out...thanks.

    Hey Jamie, would you consider a video about Australian productions that were successful in other countries? I remember a few that were popular here in Britain namely Round the Twist, Farscape, Home and Away, Neighbours etc but would be really interesting to find out more from a local! 😎

    Movies over there seem to be so much more expensive than here. Most of those 4K Blu-rays in USA are between $25 and $35. This was an exceptionally light year for me. I only spent about $200 on Movies. The thing is I’ve been collecting for 20 years and my collection is already complete so I’m only buying new movies I like also I never double dip and very seldomly upgrade.

    • @phroz3n
      @phroz3n หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Even $25-35 is high, unless you're paying full price for a special edition or needlessly pre-ordering some over-priced titles. between amazon/target/ebay sales plus the occassional boutique sales, you can get probably 90% of 4k title for $10-15/ea on average.

    • @michaeldietz2648
      @michaeldietz2648 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ i’m just talking about the standard 4K day one edition, of course if you wait for sales, everything is gonna be cheaper. If you buy steel books and special editions, it’s gonna cost significantly more. For me personally I never buy steel books or special editions. I just want a movie so it’s usually between 25 and 35 depending on the store day one.

    Your dedication to the collection is actually so impressive!
    I don't really track my purchasing behavior at all, although for books I always write the date I bought the book on the title page. I am thinking of starting something similar with date and price for movies as well for the new year.
    Do you do any other form of cataloging your collection? Like a digital data base or something? If so I'd be really interested in a video on that as well 👀

    Where do you buy movies other than JB-Hifi?
    I've just started my 4k collection on boxing day.
    I now have 7 4K movies.
    But they didn't have everything I wanted.
    I visited 3 different JB-Hifi too.
    Plus they are very expensive.
    Any tips?

    An advice for future videos about costs: be clear if it's about US dollar or AU dollar. Because it's ~1,6 AU dollar for 1 US dollar. It's not a 1:1 ratio. I have a strong memory that you are from AU.
    I see this also often from canadian youtubers (channels and viewers) that forget about the exchange rate (ratio).
    Also if the price include sales tax (VAT).
    So some sort of disclaimer or info in the beginning of a video would be great so we viewers are aware of which kind of dollar it is and also if the sales tax is included (I assume it's included).
    But as always, I enjoy your videos! You're a way bigger collector than I am. This year (2024) I've bought not so many movies on DVD and Bluray. Hobbit as Extended Bluray 3D is one of the biggest purchases. Also bought some Switch games, gaming books and shelves for my movies and games. So it's been a good year for my collection ⭐️

    You never tell us how you can afford all this thousands of dollars on 4k and Blu-ray! You must have rich parents or something. I mean ten thousand dollars plus on 4k in 2023 alone ! 65 dollars for a 50 year old movie like The Eiger Sanction is completely ridiculous! lol 😂. No one can ever deny the film industry is a highly profitable one worldwide.
