    This is a reason why I am planning to stop selling on Ebay all together because of Credit card disputes

    Never had this issues for years, I now have a dispute open for an $4,700 item.....

      How did it go? I currently have one for a $3,000 item. It arrived damaged and instead of going through the normal return process, the buyer filed a charge back for "Not receiving a refund" and directly told me they didn't want to wait for the return process.

    • @Devilbruh
      @Devilbruh 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @carlthefriendlyllama2126 my situation was different. The guy claimed the item I sent him wasn't as described and wanted a refund with no response. I then receive the item back damaged, like it was purposely tampered with. Ebay sides with me and I don't have to return item or refund. 2 weeks later he does a back charge through his bank and eBay said they'll cover the charges since I had already won the first time.

    They can also file a charge back for "item not as described." In which case eBay just takes your money, refunds it, AND buyer keeps the item. I've had buyers go directly to their credit card companies pulling this scam because they know they keep the item and get a refund. eBay asks for proof the item was as described. Like I'm supposed to get a tape measure out and drive to the buyer's home. I have no idea...

    I have started to ask for signature confirmation on almost all sales. It will be a $3 extra fee but additional protection.

    I think they may have resolved this, EBay automatically got my tracking and is fighting it and said don’t worry we will dispute for you

      How’d that go? It just happened to me and eBay said they’ll take care of it.

    • @imcheesecakeLLC

      @@Si-eb5ty the customer’s bank sided with them, which obviously they scammed their own bank, but eBay sided with me!
      (The “customer” disputed the charge with their bank several months after the purchase) which means their bank paid them, and eBay paid me for a scam purchase, just sad. But I didn’t get screwed out of 50$ so works for me thx eBay (for once)

    Well said. The easiest way to handle it is to have a 48 hr turn around for us to reply to the dispute. I always have a tracking number so eBay should see that if they just looked. Even if they have to request it from us then we should be able to reply to the dispute email and provide the tracking number. Credit card companies should also have a turn around time so it can be confirmed as a real transaction.

    I just got my first in 2 years selling, I clicked to dispute it and I can add 5 photos. What do they want photos of? Weirdest part is they left positive feedback month ago. Is the photos of the tracking delivered, feedback, listing etc or just like item photos.

  • @bratzliplogical
    @bratzliplogical ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I just scammed with $80 even tho I have prove that it has been delivered and that the buyer has even signature that it has been delivered however Ebay dosen't want to deal with it what so ever because it has passed 30 days since the item has been sold

    So basically nowadays anyone can Scam you , how lovely Ebay really dosen't care for it's Sellers

  • @AlDim000
    @AlDim000 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had one of those. Ebay didn't cause me any issues and banned the user who did this.
    Also, payment disputes should be entirely between Ebay and the bank since sellers don't actually handle the money in any way whatsoever. That's how it works in literally all of retail. If the money is taken following standard processes and a buyer attempts to commit charge back fraud (usually happens with stolen credit cards), the bank has no case at all to go through with it.

    Doesn’t this affect your sales? I’ve ex had 3 issues recently and my stores is dead .. I know it’s because of issues but eBay says no🤷🏻‍♀️ I think it’s a huge scam I’ve had two item deliver but not received 🤷🏻‍♀️ omg

    It's time for a new platform, a new ebay that uses PayPal, etransfer, debit, check, cash like the old days. People need to have more control again.

      Maybe you can help me, a buyer received a hundred dollar pair of shoes from me, He Didn’t like the color when he received them, apparently they were a little different from photos, the shade and pigmentation may have been a little off. He says he wasn’t happy, I told him to request a return on eBay. He said thanks. Then instead of opening a return request, he opened a payment dispute with his financial institution claiming item not as described.

    • @prithviraj_Equitywala
      @prithviraj_Equitywala ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevejacobs2764 Please check the following:
      1. Visit the dispute page and find the dispute reason. Is it '' the item doesn't match your listing'' ?
      2. If yes, on dispute page when you challenge it you can find the option to Add a return address in case the bank decides the outcome in buyer's favor.
      3. If you lose the dispute sadly eBay will not cover the cost for this (They will explain something but I know they will not cover the cost). They will only cover the cost under this in case you have initially fully refunded the buyer and yet they filed the chargeback/dispute with their bank.
      4. eBay will also charge you a dispute fees which is normally 20 GBP or 20 USD and you can contact them and they may credit you this.
      In case you need more guidance let me know.

    • @stevejacobs2764
      @stevejacobs2764 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@prithviraj_Equitywala I did dispute it and did add a return address in the dispute like you said, Does that mean the buyer has to return the item when the case is resolved? I actually sent the buyer a return label myself, you think that was a mistake? Not that I think he’ll use it.

    • @prithviraj_Equitywala
      @prithviraj_Equitywala ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevejacobs2764 As you have challenged the dispute and added your return address. The same update must have been sent to the bank by eBay and the bank will review all the details. I also hope you have added ''Notes'' while challenging the dispute.
      After if the bank decides the outcome:
      - In your favor: You will have your funds back.
      - In Buyer's favor: eBay will refund the buyer and the buyer will be notified by the bank to return your item. If you have sent the return label before the dispute, I will advice you to please be in constant touch with the buyer and even if you are at some $$ loss, try to get your item back as both eBay and bank might not get involved to have your item returned to you in case you lose the dispute.
      But before everything, you can wait for the outcome first. Just stay in touch with the buyer and have them with you in case the dispute goes in their favor , you can ask them to return the item to you.
