Wow, AMAZING display 👻💀🎃
Awesome 👏
Thanks for decorating the house.
I love this! Fantastic job, especially with Leota. How did you keep the globe from fogging up?
I’m not sure. I’ve never had that problem where I live.
WOW! Bravo. Excellent work.
Excellent as usual! Thanks for the tag
You deserve so much recognition for your calm, encouraging how-tos that make it look easy and inspire confidence!
@@mapotter99 thanks Michael!
Very well done..
How do I get on touch with this guy .. I want to know where he bought the big green blinking eyes
That guy would be me! The eyes are digital projection effects from AtmosFX.com.
They are from the Eerie Eyes collection.
Where do you get the hitchhiking ghost and the hatbox ghost
WOW! This is top notch. Love the whole display. The Haunt Mansion light on the ground is great. I got mine and can wait to get it all set up.
Wish I had the money
And the ghosts
The ghosts are also from AtmosFX.com.
They are the sirens and the wraiths from the Phantasms collection.
How did you synchronize the bell to Madam Leota? It such a cool effect
I had been thinking about that one since I started the display back in 2020, and finally cracked it for this year!
It’s such a subtle effect that people take for granted… if only they knew how complicated it really is to pull off!
The folks at the DIY Animatronics Group on FB helped me.
The Leota audio (which is a part of the video loop) is in stereo. I used the old Disney method of putting all the audio I want guests to hear on the Left channel, and then just put a trigger tone on the Right channel at the exact spot of the video/audio loop I want the bell to rise.
I split the cabling so the left channel goes to the speaker, and the right channel goes to a project box that contains two circuit boards.
The first board is this HiLetGo Audio Level Indicator (www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00LQEUDRO?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title). The right audio line plugs into this board. It has a series of LEDs that light up to show the volume of incoming audio. Because the incoming audio only contains the trigger, the LEDs only light when the trigger tone plays.
By tapping into the circuit that lights up one of the LEDs, I was able to use it as a trigger for the other board… a servo control board. I used a Pololu Mini Maestro 12. I created a sequence for the servo to raise the bell into position, and then quickly raise and lower it to simulate ringing, and then lower it back to the table. I scripted the source code to accept the trigger from the level indicator board. The LED lights up and triggers the Pololu to play it’s sequence. I used a beefy servo for this, an HS-805MG, as the servo arm needed to be long enough to raise the metal bell to the correct height, and there would be a bit of torque. I also used a counterweight behind the black curtain, as I do for all the instruments.
Of course all this should only make the bell rise and lower vertically. To get the diagonal movement and have the bell move back towards the chair, the bell actually has two lines… one to the servo arm, which is in the overhead above the black drapes behind the bell; and one to a fixed hook above the black drapes closer to the garage door entrance. The two attachment points, with one being the moving servo arm, allows the diagonal movement.
@@mapotter99 Thanks! This is so helpful! I always have to tell myself “the trick or treaters won’t care” because sometimes the details take me so long and no one notices, but it always makes me happy so that’s something
@@mapotter99 absolute master. Thanks for the hyper-detailed response. Truly awesome!

This is amazing! Hands down one of the best haunted mansion displays I have seen! Where did you get the haunted mansion sign projection?
Thanks! The purple one on the ground? Lowes sold them this year!
@@mapotter99 awesome! I may have to get that! Your Madam Leota inspired me to do it last year! I may just have to recreate the pop up zombie too hahaha
@@mapotter99Hi...do you sell any ghost projection files?..very interested for this year's neighborhood display!
@@DDTubular I can’t sell any I’ve made due to copyright. But I can give them away for free!
Here is the link to videos I have made and posted here on TH-cam. If you want to download them but aren’t sure how to do that on TH-cam, check out “Haunted Mansion Decorating Club (Official JPC)” on Facebook. I posted a OneDrive link in my most recent post there.
