Although when it comes to preference, someone once told me it has a lot to do with the culture you grew up with. Race is more than skin deep, as it represents your whole lineage affecting how you were brought up. Even in adopted black children that grew up with white parents, because of natural group identity theory will more often than not end up "acting black" and trying to associate themselves with black pop culture.
So while there may be exceptions to the rule, just as there are for anything, most of the time its a bad idea... and that's why the old saying goes, "once you go black, you're a single mom".

It's so funny to me. The black men who were with their non black girlfriends clearly have spent their whole lives disrespecting black women. But the black women with their non black boyfriends seem to genuinely love their relationship without feeling the need to compare black men to white men.
