@@philclarke3203 I'm going on Saturday if the weather is ok! Take a ride from Manchester to crewe it's a day out and see some beast loco's that I ain't seen for a very long time!!! I can't wait!!!🥳🥳🥳
Puzzled why it had to be dragged. Have seen them working without con rods fitted. So it couldn't be that. Ahh, the little Gronk hadn't signed the road through the station ,, needed a Chaperone !! Lol. Was watching it all on Railcam,, made me late for work. 'Oh dear' Nice vid mate,, big thumbs up . Take care Pete. 👍😀🐢
Thanks Ian. I think the rods were left off so it could be dragged a bit faster. Not allowed to run my itself, due to all Network Rails regulations, even though only a short distance. Worth being late for work for, like me! If you saw it on railcam, you would probably have seen me in the distance?
Thanks Richard. Certainly. The 08 had been delivered by road, after overhaul ( at Derby, I think). to the Heritage Centre, to make use of our unloading facility.. Then it had to be dragged across to the carriage sidings, where it was going on hire. Not allowed to go under its own power, due to all Network Rail regulations
@@Madonsteamrailways No nothing wrong with the gronk, freshly overhauled, delivered by road to Chc, but not allowed to run under its own power on Network Rail tracks due to regulations
Nice footage Phil, to answer your question when was the last gronk through Crewe station. I think LSL 08s might have been through at some point if not then in the future.
What is a gronk?? There used to be over 1000 of them!! class 08 deisel shunter, although admittedly Scott, I didn't know there nickname until a few years ago :-)
Thunderbirds are go lol 🤣 good video 😎
Brilliant footage Phil, always liked the 08's and have some decent liveries aswell. Cheers.
Thanks David, yes the railways unsung heros in the early diesel days.

Thanks Harvey
@@philclarke3203 no problem
Very great video Phil, thumbs up :)
Many thanks Simon
I like the green Gronk!! But why is it being towed by an 03? Is the engine knackered?
Excellent Footage Phil!
But could you please just let me know what the move was all about please?
Thanks Richard.

@@philclarke3203 Ahh Right - I did wonder as it came across as a bit of a weird movement
Why did the 57 go towards the yard? Was it hoping to collect some freight wagons or was it there to pick up the Gronk?
Just came to pick up the gronk
@@philclarke3203 And what was wrong with the Gronk? Was its engine out of order?

Hi Phil, very interesting video.
Hi Philip, hope you are well? Yes, one I couldn't miss!

Haha k9.

Gronky!!
Indeed!
Nice footage Phil, to answer your question when was the last gronk through Crewe station. I think LSL 08s might have been through at some point if not then in the future.
Thanks Callum.
Yes i was wondering if LSL might have sneaked a gronk in at some time
Why does it take so many men to couple up to and tow/push one locomotive?
Health and Safety and the Unions I guess?!

And had to tread carefully.

great video, where are the connecting rods ? without them its as useless as my hornby 08, which is under repair.anyway hope all goes well for this 08.
Presumably left off, so it could be dragged a bit faster
They are limited to 20 mph with the rods on
