Gaunt on disc runs ahead first turn with the fatemaster 16+6 inches and poops out 20 pinks and 9 flamers + all out attack = pin and shoot something off the table. Sounds interesting...

Mass conjuration combo so well with cult demagogue! Just use your destiny dice to cast your 3 spells automatically, cannot be unbound, free battle tactic and 6 fate points guaranteed…

    Kairoc Acolytes are actually amazing.
Tons of utility and they also generate Fate points. (Plus they are cheap allowing your to invest more in Heros, Spells and other units.

@@Irongutsman Compare them to my other armies chaff unit which is Chainrasp Horde (Nighthaunt). Kairoc Acolytes are 10 pts more for 10 but have shooting attacks. Better melee profile albeit at 1 less attack. However, they get +1 to casting and unbinding with Scroll of Dark Arts, They give out mortal wounds to enemy wizards on a 4+, They can cast to make their shooting better and more importantly generate Fate points, plus the unit has a 6+ ward with the shields. Plus if you want you can go for cursed blades to increase their melee attack profile. There's a mountain of options to make them fit for your army where as my Chainrasp horde.. Well they get 2 attacks a 4/4 and get +1 wound if they charged that turn. That's it.
For 10 pts more you get a mountain of options for a chaff unit. I think the big problem is when compared to Pink Horrors which are just nuts all of a sudden acolytes don't seem so great.

    Skyfires are also good.
They have a pretty specific purpose of sniping heros.
Damage is definitely swingy but played right they stay out of melee, fly around and just harass or snipe small heros.

good video. burning sigil is more as a gamble. I prefer daemonic simulacrum over the burning sigil. what make a good combo is arcane sacrifice and daemonic simulacrum if you need to snipe a low wound wizard hero.

Arcane sacrifice and the ogroid is a solid combo as he can mortal himself then cast his warscroll spell dealing dmg and healing himself back to full. Not to mention giving him a tome.
I’ve watched a lot of these Tzeentch reviews now and no one seems to agree on most warscrolls in the tome. Not sure if that’s good or bad.

What is the reason for taking 1 blue horror in a pink horror unit?
What advantages do you gain for losing battleline?

I think people undervalue -1 to hit these days, the same argument goes everytime, oh well they can just all out attack.
However going from 3+ to hit, all out attack 2+ is still better for you, if they then get back to 3+ rather than 2+. It's only in the situations where your opponent can reliably stack 2+ to hit that it doens't matter.

You don't get a fate point for arcane armies because there's no casting roll, it's just automatically cast. Might change in the FAQ?

@34:40 you say Tome gives extra threat range to Kairos? I don't understand how? Can you measure casting range from the Tome's base instead of Kairos' base? How? What am I missing?

You are right! They have changed it from last book in this way.
In this case it might be even stronger since you can use it to block models attacking and stuff. Definitely still plenty of jank

This book really incentivises play of the models that nobody wants to play :D underdog arcanites FTW!

why is almost every new battletome review so negative? its just a thing in the community to hate all new stuff?
Just one example was the fyreslayer battletomedrop and then 3 month later all be like "Wooow fyreslayers are in a very good spot"

I think it's because the current 3rd edition has more of the game's complexity in the core rules. This led to the battletomes getting simpler. So when someone directly compares a 3rd edition battletome to a 2nd edition one, they notice the stuff that got cut ("oh no my [insert favorite unit] no longer does [their cool unique thing]"), and are disappointed.
Then they (hopefully) play with it a bit and things are fine.
There are other causes obviously but I think that's one of them.
