I am totally 100% self taught with the help of TH-cam. I don't consider myself a beginner anymore, however when you make beginner videos I find myself learning something new every time, and I learn something new every time I watch the video back as a repeat. Never stop doing this Sam! You're a gem and thank you so much for being a bomb person, keeping it real, and sharing your wisdom!

Thanks for this helpful, and informative tutorial on 'eye make up 101', Samantha. Over the last year, I've had a renewed interest in learning age-appropriate, current, more professional looking, and flattering make up application as a way to boost my self image as I wait for breast reconstruction surgery to be completed (three to four surgeries in total) after my Triple Negative Breast Cancer dagnosis in 2008. This was a great summary filled with helpful tips! I am slowly getting there (and have even been able to enjoy using false lashes!), but I find my biggest challenge is picking complementary colours for my complexion, etc. (and those that go together as well), and knowing what best enhances my features (I have wide set, deep set, dark brown eyes). Onward & Upward! Looking forward to learning more from you in the future! Canadian hugs, Sherrey ❤

Blessings and continued improved health of the body, mind, and spirit. How marvelous you are getting back into makeup. I'm 40 ish and am too experiencing a renewed love of learning specific techniques and even basics all over again on how to apply or what works better now for me since I'm older and my skin along with everything else has changed. Very best with your next surgery! And cheers to learning every step of our life journey!

Thanks so much for taking the time to pass along such kind words; you have truely made my day! It is rather fun to learn wonderfully new, 'girlie' things at our age, eh?! You are certainly accurate about all of the changes that start to occur, though; Oh my word!!! I am quite a bit farther along than you are, but I guess it is never too late (that's my story, and I am sticking to it.....at 54!) I have been getting some lovely compliments, from dear friends and from strangers, as of late, so learning new make up application, and techniques, and putting them to practise has been just what my oncologist would have ordered for me! Every little bit helps, that is for sure! Thanks again, and here's to continued great health, happiness, and fulfillment to you, and yours, as well, Sherrey❤

I cannot say enough how happy I am that you made this tutorial! I'm new to makeup and while I have the right tools and makeup, I still feel like I have no idea what I'm supposed to do when I watch a tutorial, but they're all about certain looks rather than how to apply, so the person goes "apply eyeshadow X to the crease, Y to the lid and blend" ... I have no idea what I'm doing, and for some reasons there are really few videos on yt that talks about how to apply and blend properly, what brushes to use etc, so yours is favorited and will be rewatched until I get this 100%.

I am a new subscriber and so I am catching up on all of your videos. I cannot tell you just how helpful this particular "how to" was for me. I loved that the instructional part was close up so I could really see exactly where you place which brush and the motion you use with each. You broke it down, step by step; you took your time and even talked in depth, about what kind of product to use, and why. This has helped me more than any other tutorial I have seen on TH-cam. Thank you, so very much. I have to get back to binge-watching the rest of your videos 😊.

Your relaxed and comfortable demeanor makes you an excellent teacher and mentor. You're just awesome!! Thank you for everything you do. xx

Jesus, I wish I had had this video 8 years ago, when I really started wearing makeup on a regular basis. I didn't have any concept of a transition color. I would prime my eyes with way too much UD primer potion, and just go right in with black or dark gray eyeshadows on tacky eyelids and spent several minutes trying to blend that shit out. I stopped wearing primer for a while because of that. I'm no longer a beginner, but your videos have been incredibly helpful in refining my skills and I'm much more confident with makeup.

I really appreciate this video! So many useful little hints and tips. I especially appreciate that you show, how you pick up the product and when you take more or less.
Aside from lacking practice, one of my biggest problems is fallout - i now see, that i usually use way too big a brush or too much product (even if i tap it off).
thank you so much : ) just halfway through yet and happy to finish this video now!
