Question from the past few videos - why skin the coosa with CSM? Can't you just laminate directly to the coosa with a good wetout on the substrate? I'm looking to redo my small CC transom this winter with coosa, never seen someone prep it thst way.
You can, and I am certain most folks do just wet and go. I take the time to sand and prime the Coosa for a superior bond. After priming, I typically lay 3/4 oz. CSM on dry, then oversaturate before laying 1708 or other biaxial fabrics. The excess resin then absorbs into the glass from below and requires less resin to fully saturate. This is how I wet mutiple layers of 3610. It works so well, it has become standard practice. Great question!!
Who fabricated your shaft struts. I've been trying to find some stainless ones. Would love to have a set made off the ones you have.
Hey Connor! I would love to help you get a set. Keep in mind, these are recessed and we are at approximately 11°. The standard shaft angle is 15°. Watch the previous videos to see how much work is required to reduce the shaft angle. If you are up for the challenge and need help, I will be happy to assist in any way! Thank you for watching too!! 👍👍
Nice work. watching everything you do as we are working on our own B31, keep the vid's comming!
Thank you, Sir! There is plenty more as we wrap this project up!!
