Definitely one of the songs I want to learn first. Classic heavy metal with its Standard E tuning and oftentimes noticeable bass lines, like this ones, really put a smile on my face.
I used to play bass to this song 25 years ago in my room. Good to see this generation appropriate the good music. I bet that felt good nailing that song.
Anyone out there who, for whatever reason, hasnt understood what Steve Harris bass lines contribute to the music of Iron Maiden, should watch and listen to this video. Great, great example and a lesson in itself...
Unstopable . Just miss that last "slap" after the last chorus in the firts riff of the ending. But..in the persuit of perfection... this cover was 1.00 0 over 10. Great Job.
How the heck can Steve pull on those thick bass strings for 46 years, like that, and not have finger problems, is a mystery to me. I first saw Maiden in the Cart and Horses pub in 1976, with my old mate Paul Mario Day singing. I never even knew he could sing!! He is now living in Australia. Got a few health problems but he's basically doing ok.
Why would he have finger problems? He's plucking a light wire for like the equivalent of maybe five days a year, not propping up a bridge with his fingertips.
Fantastic cover! I really enjoyed the fact that your bass tone is clean enough that we can hear every note, and that the Maiden track is turned down low enough that your playing really stands out. I would like to see all covers done just like this one.
Oh mate, I've playing guitar and trying to cover Iron Maiden songs for more than ten years and I have always been in lack of a pro bass player like you. Your performance is awsome. Congrats and keep doin'..
Was planning to purchase the Steve Harris Sig Bass, the one your playing, but you can't even find them anymore even on the net, so my buddy who happens to be a luthier is gonna build me a Steve Harris Clone......plus the Dave Murray black Strat Clone. Your bass skills are Definately at another level. Would say keep practicing, but you don't need it. Your a Master Bassist.
@@DannyBoi2112 Sucks. I'll just get a West ham and take it to my bud luthier and get him to paint it purple sparkle and throw a mirror pickguard on it then
Jeff, Thanks for your reply on your other video about your Luthier made West Ham bass. As i said there, your playing is very very good. I hope to learn these songs from watching your clips. I will be much slower, but I will get them. You have inspired me.
@@jeff91800 Thank you again. Not sure what you mean by the above about don't "relach" your training... I am sure it is a typo, and maybe you can edit it to say exactly what you meant. Following your playing will take me far, I will have to go slowly to capture all your/Steve's licks and put them together, but I feel confident I can do it since I know their songs so well.
I've tried that kinda floating right hand technique and I personally just feel like I have no control. I either I have to anchor my thumb on the pickup or the string.
I'm experimenting with it at the moment myself, I seem to be able to improve my speed but it's far too percussive and accuracy isn't as good at the moment either. I think that my whole setup is wrong for this method tbh, very low action, hyper sensitive thin gauge DR strings and a really clanky sounding bass if you're horrible to it.
Just sat & watched this with a huge smile on my face. 🤘😎 Aces High is one of my favourite Maiden records, and you fucking NAILED Steve's thundering bass. Liked & subscribed. 🤘😎 🤘😎 Amazing work...
Ι started learning the bass 6 months ago, all by myself , with the help of internet and some musician friends.. I'm so hooked to it and I think I'll never stop playing it! I hope one day I'll be able to play some Maiden songs haha.! For now, I need to practice hard! Great work Jeff, amazing playing!
@@spyrosfyl happy for you man! Not too long ago I achieved my dream of having my favorite bass of all time, the Spector Euro 4 LX! Been dreaming of owning one since I was 7 years old. 17 years later I finally own it. I sincerely hope you get to own your favorite bass of all time, if not already :). And I hope you achieve your goals as a bassist my brother
@@SpectorEuro4 I got a Fender P Mexican last year!! A great improvement over my cheap ass 150 euro bass that I started with! Spectors are sick my friend, great purchase. Have a great day, and keep playing! Peace!
Now that's what you call a bass player
Even Glenn Fricker should aknowledge that! ;)
Unlike me eheh I'm kinda trash

Woh thanks Theossy !!
Finally someone makes a bass video and turns up the bass volume and the music down so we can hear you play! Amazing job!

30 éve próbálom ezt eljátszani, de még nem sikerült hibátlanul. Neked majdnem sikerült. Full respect!
You are convincing me more and more to pick up the bass myself as a guitarist..awesome!
Ahah cool! Thanks Robert!
