50 years as a barber and I have never used a flattop comb. Always freehand. Great haircut.

These kids nowadays use the fancy gadgets also love the 76 with flattop blade nonetheless I guess the comb makes it easier on a new coming up barber..

That’s how I want my hair done. Need to gift my barber that kind of comb. My cut is always lopsided.

Any1 whos slating this guy should learn there are many types of flat top! All beacause it doesnt look like a rocka fella or a horse shoe doent mean it isnt or hasnt been done correctly. Good job mate

You dont know what you're talking about. Different flattops only differ in lengths of top and sides but never shape. This had no shape of a flattop because he cut all of the toprails off and left the front bumber. That became a crewcut at that point...

@@nanhay692 25 years in trade i think i have an idea kid. So with your hawk eye and skill you would notice this guys hair isnt long enough for a flatop and that hes probably just putting the shape in for next time? Yh course you did pipe down.

Bullshit. First of all, Im no kid. Im 61 years old and been cutting these for almost 40 years. At 3:15, you can see he has plenty of hair to do a proper flattop if he'd throw that idiotic flattop training wheel comb away and learn to cut freehand like a real barber. You stand the hair up and make your first cut at the top front where the widows peak is. Once you make that cut, you freehand from there all the way to the back top of the head and there is your guide. If you cant eyeball and freehand a flattop, you're no barber and should have been a beautician...kid.

Not angry, just calling oyt bullshit. I do know my shit and cant stand peopleposting crap and spoon feeding it to folks who DON'T know the difference. Barbering is and art form that I take serious and I have to call bullshit when it applies. You think I should hang up my shears? YOU should or at least get up to my level before commenting or posting more shit.

Nice. But i have a question. I want to get my hands into one of those accesories for around the neck. Like the one you took off the mans shoulders and set it on the chair next to yours after finishing the mans cut. Whats the name of the product? Thanks.

Constructive criticism is ok, but some individuals don't know how to express them tactfully. I'm not a barber but I appreciate these videos and the barbers who put them up, and just how you picked up certain techniques from barbers I gleaned some from you;-). Great job by the way!

First things first you have to get rid of the huge flat top comb! Get yourself a flat top comb that’s just bigger than the comb you started the cut. You can’t give a good flat top until you learn to freehand it. The front was left way too long! It’s hard to find a good flat topper on TH-cam but there are a few.

    • @verifieduser3301

First of all if you are truly a professional you don't tell a barber how to do their job and second, There's no a right or wrong way to cut as long as the result pleases the customer.
We all have different ways to cut hair that's why we all have more clients than others.
I've been in the business for 17 years and if there's something I know is that if we are truly professionals we don't bash eachother, ever! specially for using certain tools.
It's all about making the customer happy!.

    • @tcbarber3947

@@verifieduser3301 as a true professional one should be able to accept some constructive criticism and advice. I’ve been in this business almost 30 years and have done thousands of flattops. The tools we use make a huge difference in the quality of our product. The comb you were using is nothing more than a crutch! This cut looked like a faded pompadour not a flattop. We all should be growing and trying to improve our skills with every cut. We all have techniques we can improve on, why else would we watch others work here on TH-cam?

  • @nanhay692
    @nanhay692 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

This is a crewcut. You have no rails on the sides because you cut them off using that stupid flattop cheater comb. A crewcut has a bumper in front but follows the shape of the head everywhere else. You need to learn to freehand and learn the specifics of each hair cut. Change the title of this video to how to cut a crewcut👍

im a barber too from malaysia and what im going to say is , hes done a pretty cool job actually using the flattopper even not so proper / well grooming. people just says but not everyone knows what they're talking about. sir , 5 minute for a cut ? with all due respect, mostly barbers would totally not agree with your statement sir. are you sure and know what you are sayin ? for real ? what kind of style is that ? bald cut ? or just trimming ? here we talking about the flat top . this awesome barber did a pretty cool job finished his client cut for under half n hours , 16 minutes precisely. with or without using the flattopper , his job is still need to be appreciated and that is still cool. credit to the barber to made a video like this 👍🏻 greeting from malaysia 🇲🇾
