Contact the French military to see if they would like to use the pigeonniere to support their program. They may even do the repairs on it in exchange for its use. Or you could raise pigeons for the military carrier pigeon program. You could house doves there to be used in wedding ceremonies. You could raise squab for restaurants.
You could have someone come and run the stable with a few horses for rides around the grounds or to pull a carriage with the bride. You could have artist studios where they create items that could be sold in a little shop. And renovate the farm house to be air B and B. So excited to watch it develop
Those are HARROWS leaning up on the wall of your barn. They're used to smooth out ground & break up dirt clods after fields are plowed. You drag them behind horses or tractors over & over again until the fields are smooth enough to sew in crops. ❤️🙏
I love the idea of the pigeon house being a romantic room, or it could be an awesome wine tasting area! I watch only one or two other château stories, and you two really stand out… I love the history of why you both are there, and I’m really excited to see what you will do with the place!
I would vote to keep all the architecture as it was designed. I'm hoping you will reconsider cutting a huge hole in the side of the dove house. Loved the tour and video and that you're determined to save the chateau.
What a pleasure to see your Chateau and what a wonderful legacy your Grandfather started. I thank you for sharing. So much of what you have shown us being original and in decent shape, I cringe at what a film crew might do resulting in damage, or at least a failure to conserve and improve a room. I, personally would make it a non-negotiable item that no damage could be caused and no change could be implemented that didn't add to the conservation and restoration of a room over and above the fee you receive. That much is contractual on your part. You have to decide at what level you want to restore versus change versus conserve in nearly every aspect without regard to what room or building you are in. I do realize the Chateau has to pay for itself as best you are able.
Bonjour ~ Just wondering if you both live on the property? 🏰 --- Oh, you are just covering the Hunters Lodge at 14:35 minutes in where you both live. Ok - back to the video - which is fascinating! 😊
I'm French, passionate about beautiful old houses and castles, your project is amazing. Thank you for allowing me to discover and enjoy this heritage. As a French it feels even more special for some reasons, it feels like this is also my heritage. Probably because I just love castles and this kind of properties too much! :)
As a french myself it gives me this nice feeling as well ! It makes me happy to see this beautiful chateau renovated, beloved and used in a way, that in the same time preserves its substance and its spirit.
There is something about the beauty of your property, narrative, presentation and cinematography, that is so welcoming, soothing and enchanting. Remarkably done. I think I would restore the dovecote to its original purpose and investigate the possibility of having some birds there again. Here the Department of Natural Resources has private citizens raise quail for release, so maybe something like that could be done? Cutting a window would result in a beautiful view, but I would rather preserve the structure and perhaps put some iron benches for seating, and plantings outside. Bunches of Lavender, Sage, and Iris? It could make a unique Air bnb spot, or just a neat place for guests to visit. So many potentialities! I think you are all meant to be there, including the gorgeous Archaia! ⚜️🐾💗🐾⚜️
Hey, Angela here from New Zealand. Those spiked metal light fittings you were wondering about, (7:40 mins) they used to be dragged along behind a horse or tractor to rake the ground. It would have tidied up the land from sticks and clumps of sod. Some people still use them, even behind their 4-wheeler motorbikes to tidy up their pastures. Love your chateau. If you ever want to write a book, let me know. It's my vocation. I'm a best selling author who now helps others achieve that dream. I plan to come to France next spring and travel throughout the country and help as many chateau owners as I can to get their books written to help support their renovations. One day I plan to own my, but on a very small scale in comparison. Yours is beautiful!! 😍
Time 7:54 you ask about the black "harrow" of iron. It should be pulled around on gravel paths and other surfaces where there is gravel. In this way, the gravel is kept nicely raked but also removes weeds that grow there. My grandfather had such to his gravelled surfaces in his castle as well. What a coincidence!?
Ohhkay.. I’m officially in love now… with the dog. It’s the cutest, laid-back critter.. On the castle: Oof… Coming from a family that restored an old farmhouse, I knòw all the beauty, but àlso all the unpleasant ( = expensive) surprises that pop-up when taking away wall-coverings, odd, unfitting stucco, doorframes, roofing and whatnot. You pointed at the doors about to be repainted, and the stucco You removed.. and I suddenly could again smèll the dry, musty, but slightly sharp odor of dried-out paint, dry, old planks baking in the sun, and the smell of old masonry. ( Ànd remembered always having to remove the dust from our plates and cutlery and cups and mug before using them.. 😂 ) Memories are weird like that.
What a beautiful estate. I can just imagine it in its full function as it was in the past. Very impressive estate with a massive need of love and renewal. I am sure your grandfather is very proud of you.
It's really important to get rid of the cement rendering in the hunting lodge, to save the old stone walls from water. There are regional colour scheme for paintings and lime plaster that can be found online.
@@TheBeauChateau Look at “les Jeromes” for what they have done renovating their place and how they speak about the materials. I think you two could get a lot of good tips from their vlogs. Cement can be the death of many materials apparently.
The farm equipment in the stable looked like harrows. Useful for levelling the ground, smoothing out gravel, pulling up stones and weeds etc. Handy to have especially on a property like yours.
You don't need to stain the beautiful beams in the lodge where you live do you? Can't you just use bees wax or bee oil on them to condition them but not darken them? They are lovely...
The videography and editing were superb. The inclusion of music was very nice and not obtrusive or loud and you two are just so darn cute. Oh, and your doggy too. Just curious, do you use the Work Away program? I love your chateau and grounds and am so happy you decided to make videos to take us along on your journey
Pigeon holes! Those spikey things in the barn were used for tilling, imo. I think it would be great to make a few apartments that you rent out full time so a few people can live there, and indeed, artist studios or space for retreats. What a lovely place.
What a beautiful and peaceful place. Thank you so much for showing us all the different buildings. The hunting lodge is stunning. PLEASE do not cut a window out of the pigeon house. So few of those still survive in such good shape. Looking forward to the next video.
Hi again, so glad you posted! I personally would spend time on the HUGE doors making sure they were sound, secure, and refinished/painted: I imagine it would be difficult and expensive to replace these types of things. The entire property is magical and I would definitely create a space for some hired help to live separate from the Hunters Lodge, create a venue for weddings (which I believe you already do?), and also some type of artist atelier is what I thought of as well. Wow, the pigeon tower is going to be super exciting to work on, I imagine lots of tiny lights on the ceiling and possibly in the pigeon spaces as well but I am sure whatever you do will be beautiful. What type of dog is Akia, she seems like a working dog and would probably love a couple of donkeys to hang with? Nachos...so funny, I hadn't thought of that, where do you go for nachos? Much love to you both.
Thank you so much for your interest! You have many great ideas 🥰 the huge doors will require some attention very soon because they are getting harder to open. We will need another architect to come inspect them for us before we attempt correcting them. We do have weddings at the chateau and we hope to show how we have been preparing the chateau for our wedding season in an upcoming video! Our dog Archaea is a Swiss Shepherd and she would love to play with donkeys (or even goats) if we decide to bring some onto the property. We will keep you guys updated as our projects unfold. Thank you for watching! 💕
@@TheBeauChateau We recently got Nigerian dwarf goats and they are so cute and fun! We got them when they were 4 weeks old and bottle fed them for about a month.
Hello from Alabama USA! Thank you for presenting us with a new online adventure. I am thoroughly enjoying your channel. Bless you for taking care of your grandfather and being such an asset for continuing his dream. I wish you all the luck in the world for success in your endeavors. Of course we cannot forget Ian for all his hard work too. Thank you both! I am looking forward to many more hours with you !
Your Dove house is called a dovecot in the U.K. they were used not for messenger pigeons, but for food for the table. We have these in the U.K. Messenger pigeons were kept in different buildings. The metal spikes are called harrows to use on the fields in farming. Your chateau is beautiful, I can understand why you couldn’t walk away. Good luck with your renovations, could be a lifetimes work ahead of you, but I’m sure the satisfaction you will get will be worth it.
beautiful.. the second floor in the stables was for hay.. yes can’t wait to see the painted woodwork at the cottage..the tower would be fabulous as a romantic bedroom ..what a lovely couple you are, refreshing! about the ivy yes its a pain! something you can do immediately is to cut it as low down as possible allowing the ivy to die off naturally helps in final removal! i get the shears and just snip all the way along as low down as possible, leave it to die off and remove..
Fellow Americans/Californians also living in France/Provence. What a magical dream your Grandfather has left to you. A huge undertaking and massive tasks and funds to do what needs done but how wonderful that it already has an income stream from the movie industry. Love those details when you include them. Take your time and keep rethinking what you want it to be in the end and then bit by bit, a lifetime project will forever keep you dreaming :-)
This was outstanding! The Farmhouse is amazing as is all of the outbuildings. The iron spikes on the grid in the stables is for grooming a sand arena. Thank you for the tour.
So beautiful! A relaxing tour of your outbuildings and your calm voices showing us the way around, is so well done! I will be waiting to see all the work! ❤️😊
This is a beautiful property. I got overwhelmed for you while you were walking through. So much work to do but also so much potential. The shot of you on the bench framed with foliage where you could see the château in the background was stunning!
Don't look at each task as a job...they are experiences to be enjoyed when you feel like doing them. The whole Chateau is so lovely! Enjoy at your leisure.
I will gladly move in an old room and help!!! 🤗. What a beautiful place. My heart just yearns for a place like that to love. There is nothing more beautiful than the old charm in those places. It hurts my heart when people try to modernize too much. Your doing great! Loving your channel from the Pacific Northwest ❤️.
So much potential everywhere. What a task though. Keeping things with a nod to the past is always a good idea. I like the idea of the pigeon house ( was that the proper name ?🤔) being used as a honeymoon suite with a large window. I can’t imagine it ever being used again for its original purpose so I say go for it.
Such treasures in the L'Orangerie!! Continue your Grandfather's vision for a bar into a wine tasting venue! Maybe even plant a vineyard in the meadow behind the Chateau.
The love of the land, buildings, château, and respect of your grandfather's dreams ... Deep respect and successful wishes your way. Pigeon Building... 1). If pigeons are being used, can you make money breeding them? This may show you my knowledge of birds. 2). Place to Sleep ... if someone comes to your beautiful place, yes, you could make that a very desired place to be with one you love! I know I would if I could do such a things. Blessings to your both,
Another fantastic Vlog, total barn envy as I am am a retired dressage instructor and I can only imagine how beautiful those were in their day. The stall doors are incredible. It would be great to see any old photos or post cards that included the stable block and carriage house if there out there. I have forwarded your channel to all my chateau sisters and brothers in the USA and, so far the feedback is they love your channel.
Oh my gosh! Talk about a fairytale! You have a magical world there. Keep that vibe going! I can see a restaurant, boutique hotel &/or an air B&B, and even several artist's studios all done up to enhance the magical fairytale feeling of the place. (With a store to sell products of course!) I'd ensure that movie makers would want to keep coming back - for a fee. If I were 30 (or 40) years younger, I'd pack my bags and move right in to help you out! I am incredibly envious! BTW, all those holes in the walls of the dovecote would make great wine bottle slots for a wine tasting house. There are so many options! Rent out the horse stables and then rent out horses for riding. Or each horse stall could be a uniquely decorated private dining alcove for a restaurant ...or a place for a local theater to put on productions...? You have enough space to even have long-term renters.
Thank you for your creative input TJ! We really appreciate the feedback we’re getting from everyone. We will take time and much consideration before deciding on how to start the larger projects, but for now we will keep listening to viewers like you and take everything into consideration 😊 Thank you for watching!
Oh, I would continue on with your grandfather’s great idea and create a pub/restaurant in that space. Hire local staff to run it. Mapperton in England, see their TH-cam channel, runs a similar restaurant out of one of their out buildings all year long to bring in revenue. They hold many events on their estate which also bring in revenue and continue great local traditions. As you are so close to town, you are perfectly situated to bring in many tourists. So many ideas, your heads must be swimming in them lol. Best wishes to you ❤.
I think reimagining the pigeonnier as a guestroom for newlyweds is fantastic. It's a beautiful building for which there's little application in at least 1 century. I understand the desire to preserve, and as far as I can see that's being done beautifully in the chateau. But in order to preserve, they need to generate income and unused buildings like the pigeonnier fall into disrepair. Also, ancient cities like Rome, Athens, Istanbul have managed to stay vibrant by incorporating the old with the new. Ancient, magnificent buildings like Hagia Sofia has been a church, reimagined as mosque, then a chuch again, now a mosque... all changes part of its ever more interesting history.
Such beautiful place!! Love the farm & stables. There are plenty of donkeys for adoption in South Europe! Also, I wouldn't change the pigeon tower, it's unique, can be decorated 🌸 ...you have plenty of space for hotel rooms, b&b etc keep going, love it!
As a horse girl I got so excited to see the stables! I vote to restore them to how they would’ve been. It would be so cool to have horses there to offer rides for guests (whenever you have rooms ready for rent or tours). Or a museum of the use of horses over the eras such as for agriculture, leisure, travel or hunting! Include demonstrations! Idk might be a niche market but as a horse girl it excites me lol I’ll happily move over there to run it for you guys lol!
Thank you, Emily! Yes, Archaea is a dire wolf for sure 🤓 Her father was actually significantly larger! He looked exactly the same as her, but the size of a small bear 😳
The ivy is also comprising the integrity & stability of the moat. I've always Loved the look of ivy covered walls & cottage roofs, Until I got older & found out about it's destruction. Now when I see it, I tend to want to rip it out myself. Sorry, it's a love/hate relationship I have with ivy. Your home is Beautiful! 💖
this many rooms are for a lot of people. thanks to your grandfather you have this wonderful castle for lots doing and feeling fairytale. the hunter had the nicest room.
Yes, thank you from over in Idaho, USA, Long ways from you. The pidgeon idea is great, and it is also good to have not had many birds there for a long time cause their poop has a bacteria bad for the lungs wear a mask if you are cleaning any bird or chicken area. So glad I found your blog. What a challenge. With the help of u-tube this is gonna happen. I haven't seen a kitchen yet anywhere. I love your programming. The gentle way you go about it. Thats alot of work. Don't go all white everywhere. That is not comfortable to the eyes.Thank s again
Your agricultural instrument is a harrow with rigid or flexible tips that is dragged on the ground to loosen it after ploughing or to bury fertilizer, seeds or weeds.
Love the outbuildings! In the Netherlands there is a hotel named 'Vila Augustus'. They have a tower with a glass roof. Maybe an idea for your pigeon tower..!? 🕊️ Brigitte 🌷
Love how you two are doing magical things to revive the beautiful grounds. Perhaps a photoshoot site map will go perfectly with the Airbnb or Honeymoon Suite idea.
At 7:45 those are harrows, you drag them through the field to break up manure or dirt. Your property is amazing!! The possibilities are kind of endless!! So many beautiful buildings and views!!! Oh and getting in to the loft of the barn, it’s probably a trap door and ladder in what every area they kept the hay in, the loft would have been used to store the majority of the hay needed, and only what would have been used that ~week would have been thrown down for easy access.
At some point in the future, I think you would need to employ your own staff to manage events and the like. When you went to the old horse stables, I imagine them as a huge office space. And I don't know why but it somehow reminds me of Highgrove when you mentioned fruit trees. Making jam from fruits can be a signature product of the chateau if the estate has existing fruit-bearing trees. The Orangery definitely can be another venue place. The first option is a good idea, remove the second floor and that would definitely make the space feel and look bigger. The cottages can be used for film sets or small apartments you can rent out per night. If there is a wedding event, I imagine the bridal party would be staying there and help the bride with her dress, hair and make-up. @11:50 I suggest you plant clover plant instead of grass. It's low in maintenance and even if you let it grow, it still looks magical and beautiful. If you sit on it, it will spring back. And, just out of curiosity, have you thought of selling the estate? Please don't be offended, I'm just curious if the thought has crossed your mind.
Yes, the ladder is a special ladder used in agriculture to pick fruit in general. Its shape is made especially so that it can go near the trunk of the tree and its ample base makes it stable and safe, in Italy it is called the ample ladder.
I'm sure , by now, you figured out that those black metal pieces in the farm house are for tilling your soil...those look awesome & will be great for Spring behind your lawn mower...awesome! (Dick used one on "Escape to the Chateau" I think.)🤔👍
The black metal things in your barn are called "herse" in french. Its used (stil now, in a bigger size) to flatter and smooth the earth superficially in the fields in autumn. Sorry for my bad english.
Well once my carrier pigeon saw this video, it flew off to France from California. Your idea as a Honeymoon/Fairytale suite is brilliant. Keep the magic in your dreams/plans. I love your channel. Love the silly outtakes esp - very genuine
I am a semi-retired architect living in Oregon House. I have been a member of the Fellowship for almost 50 years. I know both Sylvie and Thomas from years ago. I have watched many of your videos and admire your determination and drive for all your renovation projects. The architecture of your Chateau is so regal and refined. I like your idea of a putting window(s) in the Pigeon House to view the Chateau. I suggest using the same shape and size windows that are already in the Pigeon House or in the Farmhouse. Make it look as if it these window(s) have always been there. Perhaps you can recycle window(s) from the Farmhouse. Especially if it has slightly ripple-ly glass in it. A clearer image of the Chateau would be seen when the window is open. The rippled glass image would make the Chateau look more like a French Impressionist painting. What do you think of putting small, real, or LED candles in many of the pigeonholes inside the Honeymoon Suite? That would be romantic. Great idea to expose the stone edges next to the Farmhouse doors and windows. After all that effort though, will they be seen if the window shutters cover them up? Best wishes to you for all your endeavors. From William Hastie
Sooo many buildings!! I can see how this can be overwhelming, but chip away one project at a time. You have great ideas and I cant wait to follow along as these projects take shape. Hunter’s Lodge is super cozy. ❤
Totally think the small building next to the Hunter's Lodge is a neat space for Airbnb. It's nice to hear you might be open to that! Because it's not too big, it should be easier to renovate 👍🏻
I already love your channel, your quiet, calm pace and showing all with good camera angles and taking time to let us see the details are what I like. Huge oven means lots of cookies! I loved that comment haha! Thinks like me. Donkeys may be nice just so you know they also are VERY loud when they bray and it carries a long way, same thing with peacocks if anyone talks you into them. Maybe start with a few chickens, nice to have wandering around especially if you don't have any gardens really put in yet. PS. I'm from the states too, moved to the UK to be with my now husband. There was a time years ago, when we didn't know how to afford the visa and the process was daunting. We were apart for three years at one point, Skype was a real thing to us, so hard. But now we're together and living in the Scottish Borders, planning dreams for our cottage! I'm happy for you saving your Grandfather's dream house!
This is where they used to plow the black metal in the stables you ask for it. it was also possible to plow it deeper, which was weighted with wood or stone. the iron pin at the bottom went into the ground in the pins are between 15 to 20 cm. some the used them by one are two, but you need more horses. it was more for vegetable garden . plowing took place in November, and this iron was used in February/March for loosening the soil after frost. you have very fine ground for using the put vegetables in the ground (planting).
I just came upon this channel and I am liking what I see. You guys are doing a wonderful job and the property has very great potential. Can’t wait to see what comes next.
This is perfect property for multiple sustainable incomes, with some renovation ,help from volunteers, smart marketing . Paris is really close, you could rent the stables for horse owners who can ride them right there, through woods and the rest of the 100 acres .We pay $300 -$600 a month for stabling horses in south Cali, and most of the time ,owners needs to transport them to riding trails. Also fishing, or aquaculture on the lake. Wish you all the best .
Wow just wow! What a magnificent property with all the buildings and structures. If walls could talk right?! How fortunate you both are to be living this dream. With hard work and dedication comes great joy and satisfaction. Once you get things more settled remember that there are organizations that help place volunteers who would love an opportunity to help you with your projects in exchange for room and board for a set time. Just a thought to help you with all the work 🏰
Those criss-cross implements are drag harrows. They would be dragged behind a tractor or horse(s) to break up lumps and clods of soil after the first plowing. Have been used for probably 150 years in many countries. The doors to the barn are tall to allow a loaded hay wagon to get in out of the weather for unloading into the hay mow. Thank you for the interesting tour!
Funny how each “chateau “channels and owners all have a unique vibe. As others have said, you two are very zen and your love and appreciation for this stunning property is very special. With so much to do, would you think about having volunteers live there to help…like Stephanie doe on Chateau Diaries?
Get some goats to eat the growth on the cobble stone. Maybe there is a local farmer you could borrow some for a week and both of you benefit. I love watching you both and I would totally love to live there and just help remodel. What fun it is to see the fruit of your labor.
💫magical!💫 thank you for sharing your journey ! The Hunting Lodge will be gorgeous in those colors! I love the idea of a romantic suite in the tower! Tent the ceiling !
The black metal pieces with the long spikes are harrows. Your buildings are beautiful. It is easy to see all the potential. Thank you for bringing us along on your journey.
In Alexandria Minnesota, a wedding venue converted the grain bins into Airbnb’s for the barn wedding venue on site. The name is Gathered Oaks. Love your idea for pigeon house.
This place is so beautiful!!! I love history and anything old. The history, the stories If it could talk. You know, part of the contract for movies or shows or whatever should be that they have to put the rooms back the way they found them before they started changing stuff for the set. That place is too beautiful to let them leave their props and wallpaper and such.
At time stamp 7:43 those are to aerate your fields. I don't remember what they're called but you lay them on the ground with the spikes down & drag it behind an implement like a tractor. They're great for huge lawns like yours to break up the grass when it gets root bound. Your Yanmar tractor at 8:25 would drag them perfectly
Gorgeous!! Gorgeous, courageous, dedicated, hardworking, talented, and passionate couple. Grates with spikes are used to smooth freshly broken earth, gravel (avenue, paths, courtyard, etc) and sand (beach, arena, etc). Being so close to Paris leasing apartments in the outbuildings is definitely a huge source of income you can't ignore. Doing so would require a massive investment to rehabilitate the structures, build out the apartments, and reintroduce gardens to draw the highest paying tenants. Side note.... You may be inclined to rip the ivy off of the trees. Doing so may expose the tree to exposure shock. Simply cut the ivy at the base and allow it to die and fall of naturally. Oakes are particularly susceptible to exposure shock. Cheers!
Such a gorgeous property! The Ivy DEFINITELY needs to go, not just off the buildings but the big beautiful trees too. I had a very old very large tree that fell on my property, that had gotten strangled by English Ivy.
Love it all. I especially love hearing the old doors opening- love the creaking of oak stable doors, and cast iron handles turning. I’m desperate to hear who used the stables - how many grooms were there, what were their work conditions like? Who got to live in the hunters cottage & why? Where did they bake their bread, etc? What happened to the previous owners (before your grandfather)- how many kids, servants, what did the rich do with their time at the château?
Those are all great questions! We also have many questions about the property and are still searching for answers. We will share what we learn as we learn it 😊 Thank you for watching!

Yes, I have seen them pulled by a team of Percherons here (Indiana) at an historic farm museum representing mid-to-late 19th-20th century agriculture.
They could probably be scrapped as it is very old technology that is no longer good for use in today's farming applications.

Memories are weird like that.
What a beautiful estate. I can just imagine it in its full function as it was in the past. Very impressive estate with a massive need of love and renewal. I am sure your grandfather is very proud of you.
I am new to this chateau!!! But I am loving it. I watch "The Chateau Diaries" since 2020 and enjoy most of them, and i am already captivated!
Thank you! That is such a compliment for us 😊
Agree with previous idea of a working stable,a good money maker.
Love what you 2 are doing and we can't wait to come and visit you this summer!!!!
Thank you! We are very excited to show you around the chateau 🥰
Love your TH-cam channels too 👍♥️🙏
It's really important to get rid of the cement rendering in the hunting lodge, to save the old stone walls from water.
There are regional colour scheme for paintings and lime plaster that can be found online.
Thank you for your input! We would love to see the original walls instead of the cement 😊
@@TheBeauChateau Look at “les Jeromes” for what they have done renovating their place and how they speak about the materials. I think you two could get a lot of good tips from their vlogs. Cement can be the death of many materials apparently.
So glad to finally see a chateau that's well preserved and loved. It's sad to see so many beautiful but abandoned chateau ...keep up the good work ~☆
The farm equipment in the stable looked like harrows.
I made nachos after reading this comment.
@@TheBeauChateau Archaea...Noted!
Those big blacks things in the barn are for attaching to a tractor and cutting high grass as well as collecting what’s been cut!
beautiful.. the second floor in the stables was for hay.. yes can’t wait to see the painted woodwork at the cottage..the tower would be fabulous as a romantic bedroom ..what a lovely couple you are, refreshing! about the ivy yes its a pain! something you can do immediately is to cut it as low down as possible allowing the ivy to die off naturally helps in final removal! i get the shears and just snip all the way along as low down as possible, leave it to die off and remove..
Thank you so much, Dawn! We really appreciate your feedback 😊
Thank you for sharing your beautiful property and home with all of us.❤
This is a beautiful property.
The bench between the two trees with a view of the chateau in the distance is a stunning spot for engagement/wedding/bridal photos. 💕
I will gladly move in an old room and help!!! 🤗. What a beautiful place. My heart just yearns for a place like that to love. There is nothing more beautiful than the old charm in those places. It hurts my heart when people try to modernize too much. Your doing great! Loving your channel from the Pacific Northwest ❤️.
dibs on one of the pigeon holes.
Ps: we're new subscribers...what a family treasure you have! Great idea for a honeymoon suite from the pigeon tower! Can make it beautiful & romantic!
What a beautiful property, with so many interesting buildings. Looking forward to seeing your renovations.
What a fairytale place! I love it so much! Love your stories. What a Adventure for you!!💜🌈💜
As a horse girl I got so excited to see the stables! I vote to restore them to how they would’ve been. It would be so cool to have horses there to offer rides for guests (whenever you have rooms ready for rent or tours). Or a museum of the use of horses over the eras such as for agriculture, leisure, travel or hunting! Include demonstrations!
Idk might be a niche market but as a horse girl it excites me lol
I’ll happily move over there to run it for you guys lol!
And you even have a dire wolf! I love the hunters lodge - that has so much character.
Thank you, Emily! Yes, Archaea is a dire wolf for sure 🤓 Her father was actually significantly larger! He looked exactly the same as her, but the size of a small bear 😳
the cute ladder seams to have been used for harvesting from fruit trees
Thank you for sharing! 😊
Love the outbuildings! In the Netherlands there is a hotel named 'Vila Augustus'. They have a tower with a glass roof. Maybe an idea for your pigeon tower..!? 🕊️
Brigitte 🌷
The dove house is so cool! I wouldn’t cut a hole in it! Stephanie Jarvis would love to see it! 🕊️
I can just how magnificent it was back in the day…
All of the history and patina, that's what I love
The funky old ladder looks like a fruit tree ladder? I’ve seen them used to pick apples. Gorgeous buildings, thanks for the tour.🙋🏼♀️
Thank you so much! We will keep an eye out for incoming pigeons 😉
Oh to be young again! I loved diving into projects like this! The fun you are going to have!
I suggest using the same shape and size windows that are already in the Pigeon
House or in the Farmhouse. Make it look as if it these window(s) have always been there.
Perhaps you can recycle window(s) from the Farmhouse. Especially if it has slightly ripple-ly glass in it. A clearer image
of the Chateau would be seen when the window is open.
After all that effort though, will they be seen if the window shutters
cover them up?
The garden with fountain will be beautiful
Thoroughly impressed with everything. Yes, if it’s possible window in the tower of the honeymoon suite. I die in bliss
Just a thought to help you with all the work 🏰
Thank you for your support, Liz 😊 We will absolutely welcome volunteers in the near future, but first we need to fix up some spaces for them to stay 😉
Nachos!! That ladder was probably for getting fruit off the trees.
So she is literally a princess. Lucky guy ✨💖😍😍
It’s beautiful, you are beautiful people. God bless you.
Spike harrows. I use mine in the arena to make life a bit easier on the horses. :)
@@mikewhiskey4467 oh yeah! They work wonders to break up the crust after a rain & to level everything
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Such a treasure for sure❤️
Wow! Yes to a airbnb. Love to come a stay at your beautiful Chateau.
We will share what we learn as we learn it 😊 Thank you for watching!
patherics introduced your channel.wow! wonderful, there is lot of works need! do one by one! please save all buildings! it has history!
