The Indy 500 is not just the greatest spectacle in racing. It is the greatest sports spectacle of all time, for all sports, for the last 5,000 years - the pomp, the tradition, the speed, the noise, the color, the intense competition, the venue, the excitement. And Helio is such a fan favorite. I have never heard a single bad word about him. I remember taking a photo of Helio in the garage area at Michigan in 2001 after he had won his first Indy. I thought, "Here's that Brazilian guy who just won the Indy 500. I wonder if he is just a flash in the pan." Five, Helio, five!

My Mom could not stop crying, she was so happy because she prayed Helio would win. And what makes it so special for her and the family because in our lifetime we got to see Foyt, Unser, Mears and Castroneves win 4 Indy 500's!
