Those ambient sounds would be popular with my house. On the way home from a weekend day out, getting the kids to sleep is a big plus. Ambient sounds definitely help with that.
Love the way you speak and explain, keep goin!
This car looks amazing!
Awesome review! Never had much to do with cars but this is quite accessible. And vegan interior! Whoop! 🙌
Loving these car reviews!
Hi Richard that’s great review. Hoping you start to use nice name reveal with good graphics. I mean there was just basic black texted name. Let’s get another level this channel is growing massively. Love ya.
good video. i like your reviews the are better aimed at normal consumers. More electric vehicles if you can
great video mate
Looks like an excellent car. Excellent in depth review Richard, as always.
Did you find at low speeds the brakes tended to groan in the same way another review channel made a big deal of, or was it not noticeable? Never going to be a deal breaker on a car tho.
Not at all, it was really easier at low speed. But groaning brakes when an automatic is creeping on the brake is quite common. I believe it's down to the compound of the friction material on the brake pads. Temperature can make a difference too, my Leon will groan given the right conditions at very low speeds when rolling down hill on the brakes. I only hear this groan when a car is nearly stationary.
@@RichardFanders yes, very common in autos. All our automatics do it at times. Seems like said reviewer made a bit of a big deal out of it. At the end of the day, it's hard to avoid as essentially the motor is trying to move the car and the brakes are trying to fight that to keep it slow. Great review, and by the looks of it and excellent car.
Great review. Would have been nice to see something on the battery charging and range anxiety experience - cause that’s really the achilles heel on all these expensive EVs.
Great review thanks.
I like iPedal mode. You can adjust how aggressively the car slows when you take your foot off the accelerator. I keep mine on the strongest braking setting and try never to touch the brakes for maximum regenerative braking. I have the slowest EV6, but compared to any fossil powered car it feels like a rocket!
You missed one of the coolest interior features: There is a 240v outlet in the back, in the footwell where the rear middle passenger sits. Does 3600 W even, so you can plug in your hair dryer, or your computer, or your kettle, or your washer/dryer or whatever.
It’s not a “go pedal” or a “gas pedal”, in the UK it’s the “accelerator pedal” or just “accelerator”… it’s been that way here for 100+ years!
Great real world review Richie. I love your scepticism on the blind spot technology, i remember bring the same with cruise control back in the day. Do you think she'd be good for a 200km commute 3 or 4 days a week? The diesel is creeping up and up!
200km will be not problem. 300+ miles is official. On motorways you'll get less and it depends how fast you drive.
@@RichardFanders I'm going to start saving for one now and pick one up in 2032...
Really good review. Some excellent, relevant information. Cheers.
Great review Richard 👍🏼
The old guy across the road has just got one of these in white. Lovely looking car. I need to pop over and turn off the reversing beep though! Can hear it from down the road! Enjoyed this vid Richard.
You can't turn off the reverse beeping you hear outside the car, only the beepers inside when you get close to stuff. The sound you hear outside can only be turned off by taking out a fuse.
Very comprehensive review. Good job.
I think calling it the power pedal works for both combustion and electric vehicles since that’s ultimately what it controls. :)
Accelerator pedal works too
That's true, but I've been an instructor for 13 years so saying gas is second nature now.
@@RichardFanders I’ve just gone from a manual instructor car to a Mini Cooper electric instructor car (so full electric/automatic lessons) and after 20 years of instructing it’s so funny trying to avoid saying ‘turn the car (not engine) on’ and ‘use the power pedal’ (not gas pedal) It’s so fun teaching in it though. Great videos yet again Richard, thanks:-)
Volume controls are on the steering wheel. I’d leave the centre controls on climate.
Good point.
Not sure where to write this. But can you test drive the Yaris GR please? Manual only car.
Given the opportunity I will.
I saw niece Tish review this.
Her review was great. And your review is also great nephew Richard.
Personally, I’d go for the GT Line 322HP AWD. I would also have the EV6 over the Tesla Model Y, Ford Mustang Mach E or Hyundai IONIQ 5.
Because you have no clue about electric cars.
@@whynotstartusingyourbrain8726 Wrong.
@@DaveDVideoMaker so then tell me why would you buy a car that has no charging planning, that is very inefficient on the highway, that won't allow you to pre heat the battery so that the inefficiency doesn't become too obvious and that costs way more than a model Y if you equip it to the same level? Why would you intentionally exclude youself from the best charging network if you have any clue about electric cars?
@@whynotstartusingyourbrain8726 you obviously haven't driven a Model Y. Other than the acceleration its a horrendous drive.
@@ohlawdy1986 you obviously haven't.
10:14 not sure I could get used to not having buttons there, since it’s out out of eyeline anyway
Did you mean “real wheel drive” or “rear wheel drive” in the video title?
Haha, I made that mistake twice. I'll change it.
Nive video
Didn't know the driving instructor did car reviews. :)
What do the different pedal modes mean I don’t understand?
The different modes try to make the car feel more sporty (I didnt notice a difference) or try to make it more economical.
Insurance?
Body looks a bit similar to jaguar I-pace to me. Good car though
I know what you mean, it's the short bonnet.
@@RichardFanders yeah. Actually looks better than that. Very nice review
The reviewer says the seats are made out of fabric because he does not know what he is talking about. This material is Italian made suede called "Dinamica" that costs way more than genuine leather. These are the same materials you find in Porsche, Benz, Audi, and BMW. This is the most premium seating material you can find today for auto use. And Kia did not spare any $$$ in using this premium material. Way to go Kia
I stand corrected.
Where do u get them to review?
Hi, I recognise your name from my learner channel. You're from Russia if I remember correctly? This car was from a dealer called Underwoods. They're a big dealer and are happy to give me the cars in exchange for a bit of publicity.
@@RichardFanders oh that's cool that you can make content without renting them. Oh ye I saw the lil post on that channel. I still watch and rewatch stuff as I still suck at driving somehow, recommended your reverse bay parking series to my Russian friend coz shd struggles too, tho doesn't speak English but I think it's straightforward sigh no translation with animations 😂
Also you somehow make that boring stuff about new silly highway code interesting and sarcastic
The more you drive the better you will get. Thank you, the highway code isn't exactly the most thrilling read 😂
vegan leather = vinyl. great review though
Everyone just go to 21:50
I think the white accents in the intiror is such a bad idea. that's going to get so dirty. They should have went with red
second
This car is beyond boring to drive. What a disappointment. It clearly lacks the power to move the weight.
Kia offer a range of specifications to suit various budgets.
RWD 226 bhp with a kerb weight of 1985 kg is 114 bhp/tonne. Which I agree is quite meagre. However AWD 321 bhp with a kerb weight of 2 090kg is a much more useful 154 bhp/tonne.
The Mazda Rx-8 a proper 4 door 4 seater sports car of yesteryear was 168 bhp/tonne.
Looking at the torque on the AWD 321bhp EV6 605Nm from 0 rpm and the torque of 211Nm at 5500rpm on the Rx-8 and one can see if one is looking for a little more punch the AWD 321bhp (0-62mph in 5.2 seconds or less) is the ticket!
@@Antiguan_Dart yes, but you pay for the performance with range.
@@whynotstartusingyourbrain8726 Indeed. I guess you pays your money and makes your choice. I understand the AWD can get about 274 miles real world range 100% - 0% state of charge.
Stay away from these EVs scam
