Eight-year-old Farouk James has made a name for himself thanks to his long hair, gaining over 270,000 followers on Instagram and even modelling in New York. However, as he prepares to move to secondary school his mum Bonnie is terrified he will be made to chop off his locks, due to school regulations. Bonnie is determined to fight back and says not only are the ‘outdated’ rules discriminatory, but she will go as far as declaring Farouk as non-binary if it means he gets to keep his long hair.

He's blessed. I say, keep the hair, even if it makes him look like a pretty girl.

Even braids were not allowed in the secondary schools.

Ooh wow, that wee boys hair is beautiful. I can see why his parent’s don’t want to cut it….
Wonder how thick and heavy it is, or if the texture is more curly volume which makes it seem like he has more hair?
I wouldn’t have the patience, I’m so lazy I can barely be bothered having to wash mines haha it’s often hidden under a sports band 😂

This sounds like the policy Kim Jong Un has about hair cuts.

Braid his hair. Cornrows should be acceptable with a bun in the back. He looks good and neatly put together. Just make sure the ends aren't hanging down.

...she does, they don't allow those either.

@@Practicerecordings What? They are just being wicked as far as I'm concerned. There is no good reason to disallow the cornrows. Are the females allowed braided hair or cornrows? If yes, maybe they have a case for discrimination on gender. If not, that's a whole can of worms they surely don't want to open 🤔

While others pay to cut their hair. He earns money with his hair.

What a beautifully presentable mother.. Who was earning the money here? Children don't like to be different. I wonder what this little boy will say about this when he's 40.

Schools just want kids to look as equal "as possible", and that's not a bad thing. It has more benefits than cons. I understand this is debatable to some, but that's the idea behind uniform in general.

Does has cut his hair before they can take in school? I please braid and tie it that's it

  • @taxicamel

The funny thing is NO ONE is FORCING this kid to cut off his hair. That's a fact. The school has regulations and that's all. If he is insistent that he will NOT cut his hair, then go find another school who WILL allow the hair. Very simple. But rather than accept that fact, it is FAR BETTER TO GO PUBLIC ......FOR PUBLICITY SAKE ......AND IT IS MUMMY WHO IS TAKING THIS PUBLIC SPECIFICALLY FOR THE PUBLICITY!!!
Mummy has already got him into "modelling" because he has all this hair. I wonder if there is any other "feature" or "talent" this kid has. The modelling people even don't want him anymore because "the hair would take away from modelling the clothes"!
So "mummy" brings in the "racial" card @ 4:00. ANYONE who brings up "race" ....IS THE RACIST ....plain and simple. And then bringing in "non-binary" concept. This lady is nothing more than a trouble maker .....perhaps looking for her own PUBLICITY ......with Farouk caught in the middle. It appears mummy thinks anyone can do anything they want if they want to do anything .....and there should be no rules or guidelines for anyone. But mummy doesn't want to offend anybody. Well, what if she IS offending everyone?
Ultimately this is a dumb discussion .....driven by PUBLICITY ......which OF COURSE ......mummy would DENY.

ADDENDUM: as it turns out, this is fact all about PUBLICITY ....driven by mummy. She is promoting her son for likely one purpose .....money .....but of course, mummy would deny that.
I'll bet there are hundreds of thousands of kids whose hair, if completely left alone, would grow out the same way. But "normal" people know better and have more normal objectives in life, like "being normal" and getting on with personal progression of themselves.
It appears, mummy has some screws loose and is on some quest using her son as a conduit to her own NARCISSISTIC thirsts.
Mummy posted a number of TH-cam videos to set up some kind of PUBLICITY STUNT ......but for some reason, there haven't been any more TH-cam videos for 3 years. I wonder what happened?

Poor little boy. I can see on his face that this big heavy hair is very uncomfortable for him, he looks squashed. I believe it is more the wish of his mum who makes money from it, I do not think this is what he really wants. How can he play or do any sport with this heavy thing weight upon him? And they are saying that his hair is his personality? That is absolutely wrong.
