This trial has revealed how devious, calculating and downright evil adults can be. The innocents in this are GC whose mother was murdered, and Erica Stefanko's kids. If their mother is found guilty those kids' lives are going to be disrupted through no fault of their own.

The plan was probably to use it to use it in case Erica Stefanko would ask custody again for raising her child. The tape could then be used to “change her mind”, i.e. blackmail her. Erica is suspiciously comfortable and Cindee is way too relaxed in the audio of the conversation. I think Cindee admitted it in earlier testimony, but it's evident that this was not the first time she heard that Erica's participation rose to the level of criminality and culpable involvement. And it's not as though she was playing it cool to keep Erica unguarded and talking so that she could take the tape to the prosecution..... She held on to the tape! I really dislike the choppines of the way the prosecution played the audio. I understand it was a long recording but as a juror, I would find it the continued starting and stopping of 10 second clips hard to follow and distracting. It would have been much better to play most, if not all, if the recording regardless of how boring it may be.

If he plead to avoid the death penalty, I don’t understand why he got an appeal. If he got an appeal and a new trial they should have put the death penalty back on the table, does anyone know why he got an appeal?

Sounds like she’s trying not to implicate herself in this whole murder. She may have known before or at least suspected but she obviously knew Erica’s involvement and never said anything about it for four years.
Dirty Tactics by the prosecution questioning the authenticity of the recording, now the recording is tainted even if it is authentic and the jury will have that in their subconscious throughout the trial rendering that piece of evidence worthless, working on the basis that you can't ' unhear' something, the judge should have called it.
That was the defence that objected to it being played because it was the defendant in her own words admitting to being a part of this murder. If anything i believe the jury will most likely believe the defence was just trying to cover that up.
@@vickiekasafirek9096 Despite questioning the recording's authenticity....... the defence used it in their cross-examination. Defence trying to argue what Erica said shouldn't be taken seriously because she'd had a few drinks. The defence attorneys trying to operate the tape machine is painful to watch.
