I should have made it clearer in the video, but "alternative" definitely wasn't supposed to mean "worse than the others"!!! Claydol just doesn't fit nicely into one of the other slots, and is smashing it from a slightly different angle 😅
It seems that people are really leaning into Ghost-type damage at the moment, which is super tough for Victini!!! I've been pairing up Malamar and Rapidash with Galarian Slowbro and having quite a lot of success!! If you haven't already, it's also worthwhile checking PvPoke to make sure you're using the recommended movesets :)
Hatterene will be released during the event. I assume it will be eligible and it can learn Charm. Makes way for double charm with ground, fire, or dark pairing.
I'm a little surprised Oranguru with buffed Brutal Swing isint up here. I guess having to rely on Confusion in a Psychic type meta might mess it up a bit?
Yeah you're exactly right - one of the big benefits of Confusion is its high damage output, and when you're facing a field of Pokemon that almost ALL resist Psychic....you're better off picking up Slowbro as a Brutal Swing user instead 😅
I can definitely see that being super useful and could find some success!!! I think the "base" moveset is probably still Megahorn + Body Slam, as Megahorn hits an even wider array of targets for super effective and Body Slam just gives a SUPER low-cost charge attack that can clutch out games in a pinch! With the power of Fairy Wind though, you still get to High Horsepower pretty quick!
I think that even though Metal Sound has a slightly faster energy generation, the much higher damage produced by Feint Attack (on TOP of it being super effective to most of the meta) probably makes it the better move to go for in my opinion!! I could definitely see Metal Sound making waves by letting you get to Payback with some level of speed, but I think it's pretty team dependent as far as whether you will have the shields to spare in certain scenarios.
There are a few things holding Shadow Mewtwo back: 1) It's locked to a psychic-type fast attack, which isn't great when almost everything resists it. 2) It's best charge attack in the Open Leagues is Psystrike....which has a similar problem 3) Your only real benefit is Shadow Ball, but you're super frail and so in some match-ups won't even make it to the move!! There are better options for Shadow Balling 😅
It's mostly different movesets! Galarian Slowbro was given Brutal Swing this season, which is spammier and more dangerous than what Galarian Slowking can output!! There are also now better Ghost-type damagers in the meta with Astonish buffed!
Slowing is solid, but with slowbros poison jab, he takes out rapidash and other psychic/Fairy’s out quickly. I’m still trying to find my team but I’ve had the most luck with both of them + Claydol. SBro as the lead and SKing as the closer
@@sdima2424 I mean, I only have slowking is my team and he actually takes out rapidash and Gardevoir with hex and shadow ball (+ surf), I currently have Slowking, Bruxish and Rapidash but this is more of a testing team that is working medium to great for the moment
I think Malamar is easier to counter than Mew by way of the fairy types. But really, if you ban dark types, then you just end up with Ghost types becoming the kings of the meta. I guess you just need to draw the line somewhere!

OH MY GOSH I LOVE IT HAHAHHAHAHA. Thank you so much 😂😂😂
DanOttawa POGO mentioned that undercharging video you brought up @ 9:50, but I'm checking out the rest too. Informative video! Thanks
Love these videos! So helpful mate ❤
Appreciate you as always Majin!!
You having Claydol as an alternative is wild. Mud slap buff has claydol beating everyting but the water, flying and grass psychics in the 2s
I should have made it clearer in the video, but "alternative" definitely wasn't supposed to mean "worse than the others"!!! Claydol just doesn't fit nicely into one of the other slots, and is smashing it from a slightly different angle 😅
Fr tho Claydol is clutch . I’ve been struggling a little to find a consistent lineup since this cup started but Claydol hasbailed me out quite a bit
I’ve stalled at 3/5 with Chimeco, Malamar and Rapidash
In a closed meta like Psychic Cup, 3/5 is a pretty great mark to hit!!
Running Victini, Rapidash, Mamamar:
I’ve lost every match so far 😢
It seems that people are really leaning into Ghost-type damage at the moment, which is super tough for Victini!!! I've been pairing up Malamar and Rapidash with Galarian Slowbro and having quite a lot of success!!

G´day from Sweden! DanOttawa brought me here through your video about undercharging. that was such a big eye opener for me!
Thank you so much!!! Shout out DanOttawa!!! 😍

Oh yes!!!! I should have remembered that, double Charm is definitely incoming!!!

Rapidash has another move... that could be a good surprise for them 😂
You mean megahorn ?
One shots malamar
Good vid! Would you run superpower on malamar?
no you would run hyper beam because superpower in the psychic cup isnt the best decision
Yeah as muffin said, Superpower just really doesn't do much for you in the Psychic Cup. Hyper Beam will probably open up more win conditions!
Nice video
i would wanna run High Horsepower on Rapidash to deal with G-slowbro, which will be on every team.

@@davidlee2052 rapidash is so frail slowbro can one shield farm down even if you bait you don't reach the high horse power
Bronzong has metal sound as a quick move

@@PvPSteve also meta sound a steel quick move will hit the fairies a bit harder
Im on day 2 of playing the psychic cup, and now im bored lol
Out of sheer curiosity... shadow mewtwo viable?

Can someone kindly explain to me why everyone prefer slowbro to slowking? I don't understand because slowking has hex no??

Ugh is it already back
No shadow latios mention 😢
It could definitely be pretty groovy with that neutral Dragon Breath damage, but losing to BOTH the darks and the fairies is a bit rough 😅
Doing all the TH-cam things 🤪🙊
I’m gonna have to build a couple of things but feeling very inspired for this great league psychic meta 😎
I believe!! 🫡
Why a dark-psychic type malamar having stab foul play is allowed when mew is not allowed? It makes no sense
I think Malamar is easier to counter than Mew by way of the fairy types. But really, if you ban dark types, then you just end up with Ghost types becoming the kings of the meta. I guess you just need to draw the line somewhere!
Shadow claw is why
Shadow claw and an infinite moveset
Malamar can be counter by a bunchbof psychic fairies. Abother one is being released that same weak yhat also has charm
Say Beam with two syllabus lol
I'm just Australian 😭😭😭
Another shitty cup for so long with no open great league option, thanks niantic
I deleted my 0/15/15 bruxish last season cause i never thought i would need it 😤
😭😭😭😭
