It is amazing to me how you guys do every remodeling task so well. Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting. No task is too tough for you. You both are getting gradually thinner though, need to up your intake of Lara bars to get the extra nutrition all that work demands!
I’m binge watching your vids and having a ball. I’m not overly fond of green paint, but even tho your 5.00 bargain is in a sage type I like the Scottish in me loves a bargain!
You did a great job on the sheetrock. And the color is fine. The cabinets will cover a lot of it so if you think it is a bit much that will help. Also, do you have a Habitat for Humanity store in your area. You can get some really great deals on used and new household goods and appliances
I like it - it’s like a Granny Apple 🍏 green. The color on the wall does NOT look like what I expected when you opened the can! I thought the paint looked more ‘minty’ in the can - kind of like a dental office. I like it better on the wall than I do in the can. Regardless - it’ll look clean and neat - just what you need for starting your new life. Great job!

Envious of your muddling skills, Doug. No matter how much drywall I mud, I end up with seams and eternal sanding. The green...hmmm. In the 70s everyone had avocado green and harvest yellow kitchens and appliances and they were ghastly so I had flashbacks. But...it has enough sage in it that I think if you “pop”it with some deep red/burgundy (NOT bright red...ew) touches like towels, oven mitts, rugs, mugs, etc, it could work. Might depend on the flooring.
The green goes well with the wood paneling and '70s trailer for a nice retro look. For $5 a gallon, you really can't go wrong, and if you don't like the color, keep watching the ooops shelf for a color that does appeal to you. Absolutely stretch that one gallon by not painting behind the cabinets (though you should at least prime to help minimize moisture absorption. Are you planning on painting the cabinets? Be well, Don
Semi-gloss is good for kitchens because steam from cooking leaves a residue on walls over time. Too flat a paint will absorb the residue, but a glossier surface aids in cleaning. I think the green works with the wood and retro look of the place!
I'm a lover of green, so therefore I like it. My kitchen and dining room are green...different shade, but I like yours...will be nice when the cabinets are installed. Years ago a representative for a paint company told my parents that green is a color that you never tire of...easy on the eyes. I painted my bedroom green then...loved it. You guys are incredible!!
The olive color is pretty cool, but I'd have held out for a bright orange. :) Seriously though, it doesn't look bad and it does seem to fit in with the era of that home. That paint is usually well over $30 a can, so that was a great deal. I got my oops orange paint for $8. Great progress, and I'm looking forward to all the projects to come. Thank you!
lol, bright orange would have totally fit right in with this trailer, especially with that orange stripe that's painted on the exterior. We got our oops paint at Menards which sells all their oops gallons for $5 each. Such a great deal. And we're so happy that you are now over 1,000 subs!!
I love the paint. Green is growing on me. I think the drywall work was so good. What great paint for oops paint. Love the cabinetry. The countertop with the cabinets all goes together with the design on the wall. So great.
I was surprised that you used the old kind of tape on the dry wall. There is a netting tape that's much easier to use. But you did a super job using the harder to apply paper tape. I love love love high gloss paint because it is much easier to keep clean and nice looking. Dog gone it, I thought the green paint would be more like a light spring Green, but I bet Ashley will make it turn out very pretty. The cabinets look really nice. I'm excited to see what y'all will do with the floor.
Paper tape is the only kind Doug ever uses. He's gotten pretty good at it over time. We'll have to try our hand at mesh tape in the future. We'll be doing the floor very soon :)
You are doing a great job! I have painted 2 rooms with the marked down $5 paints. Nothing wrong with saving $25-$30 a gallon and I think the color is fine.
I like the green, and now bold colors are coming in again. I think it is perfect for in the country feel and look. Great work kids! What a team you two are!!! I know it's not 100% necessary but, a homeowner should have some knowledge of home repair but Doug, I believe you're more than qualified. Man, if you were available and had some spare time on your hands, I'd hire you in a heartbeat. Because of some health issues, I'm just not able to do much around the house anymore. I agree with Ashley, the paint color goes with the atmosphere of your surroundings, Country. Cabinets look fantastic. I hope you are able to match the upper cabinets with the lower ones. I love plants so love most greens. This is one of my favorites. It's actually a neutral, so almost anything will go with it. So pretty... Oh, and good drywall skills.

Looks great guys !!! I have used oops paint myself, you can't beat the price ! Sometimes if I have nice inside matching corners when doing drywall I will run a nice bead of latex caulking down the corner instead of taping and sanding it saves a lot of time and looks good too. Can't wait to see the finished product !!! Blessings Dave
I LOVE the color it is a vintage farm house kitchen.. It reminds me of a celery color from the late 1960's.. Sometimes others mistakes end up being a positive for us. I believe that you can use the color to your favor & decorated the kitchen really cute.. I think once the kitchen is done at is going to be AWESOME... I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THE FINISHED KITCHEN..

Very green but goes very well with new cabinets and yellowed printed wall you stand in front of. I enjoy seeing quality work you do! Had my tiled shower remodeled, the new grout has cracked all over I think I'm going to have to learn to grout to fix it right.
That's a shame about your shower. It sounds like you may have to learn to do more than grout on this one. You could have an improper mortar or underlayment. I hope you can get it fixed ok!

You are doing a great job fixing up your new homestead. I don't think I would want that color green in my forever home but I could certainly live with it for a couple years or whatever the time line is for fixing up the school on your new property. I am really looking forward to seeing the progress you make on your new homestead. Bad internet is the downside of country living. Sometimes you get lucky, I live on a road that has a cable TV run between towns so I have 100 mps internet otherwise I would have nothing. Phil
In my opinion (because you ask), i don't like that kind of green colour, too dark, and it makes the kitchen smaller. A very light grey or a pale yellow would match better with your "cabinets"......or even just white which fits with everything... but as you know,.it takes all sorts to make a world ! 😉 You are very courageous, thanks for sharing. 😊👍👍👍
In the can I was thinking ugh, but on the walls it looks much better. I like it. It also rather matches the "C" for country in your channel logo. Visited and subbed your friend, too. YT needs to stop ripping off their content creators.
In the early seventies, I had the yellow gold appliances, so I painted my farm house kitchen the bold dark green that was popular then. The color you have (plus the price👏👏👏) is very pretty.
5 dollars oops paint 🎨 lovin it , I have a friend who loves an oopsy and when we installed our bathroom we purchased a ( job lot ) .....that feeling when it all works out yeah ! . Keep up the good work guys , loving the videos 😉👍💪
WOW you all are jack of all trades, masters of many. Such great work. My husband and I did a lot of home projects too. Our last one was building our home in the country, from slab to roof. My husband loved doing work on our houses and there was always things being done. We bought some of the tubs, basins etc from yard sales. We stared buying about a year before hand and it helped with the cost. The paint looks great. Perfect colour.

I am not crazy about the color. The price is right though. Avocado for sure is a vintage color. I am sure the cabinets will offset it. The drywall job looks amazing.
Its interesting seeing whatvyou have different to us in New Zealand. We don't have insulation with paper on itvwhich sux. And never had paint with with twist lid, which is way better than a tin 😊👍

I think the color is cheery. Semi gloss is so much easier to clean. I always use it in the kitchen because of that. The cabinets are pretty!

Definitely a kitchen color. My grandmother painted the exterior of her house this exact color and yellow trim. Sure did make her place POP!!💖

5 dollars oops paint 🎨 lovin it , I have a friend who loves an oopsy and when we installed our bathroom we purchased a ( job lot ) .....that feeling when it all works out yeah ! . Keep up the good work guys , loving the videos 😉👍💪
WOW you all are jack of all trades, masters of many. Such great work. My husband and I did a lot of home projects too. Our last one was building our home in the country, from slab to roof. My husband loved doing work on our houses and there was always things being done. We bought some of the tubs, basins etc from yard sales. We stared buying about a year before hand and it helped with the cost. The paint looks great. Perfect colour.

Nice looking cabinets. They can be so expensive to get what you need and fit them all. Paint looks great for $5. lol You make the drywall work look so easy. I hate it. lol Take Care.

I am not crazy about the color. The price is right though. Avocado for sure is a vintage color. I am sure the cabinets will offset it. The drywall job looks amazing.

Its interesting seeing whatvyou have different to us in New Zealand. We don't have insulation with paper on itvwhich sux. And never had paint with with twist lid, which is way better than a tin 😊👍
