    That explosion before the "pinch that like button so my had turns back to normal" segment got pretty close to the cat. He does not seem rattled at all. What a trooper. Might want to check to make sure his fur didn't get singed though.

    It definitely has a vibe with that Guild pickup in it. That would be a great rock n roll bass.

    The Guild BS-1 is a great pickup. One of my Serek Lincoln basses has one and it sounds really great with fingers and particularly awesome with a pick! The Novak is killer, I love it, but the Guild is an incredible value.

    Sounds great. That is a very cool pup.
    I recently finished a not dissimilar mod on a Squier CV Mustang Bass, replacing the pickup with a Serek LZN B90. Adding the cost of the pickup to the installation and the mod cost as much as the bass. It is still pretty neck heavy but other than that, a killer bass now.

    Getting an entry-level Squier, as in some cases, can be a hit-or-miss situation. I bought my Squier Bronco Bass all new back in 2019. It sounded very nice, just the humming noise being the only issue since it's a single-coil pickup. I loaded hotrails on mine last year and made it fretless this year. It's now one of the best basses I've played after those experimental modifications were applied. I would bring this bass to some gigs now. Maybe, when I get the chance, I will change the strings with GHS pressure wounds, as they're available for short-scale basses. It's great that you did an upgrade to the pickups. You deserve a Slap of Like on this video (#SlappedLike). Be well!

  • @spaceage4151

    I have a Bronco that I modded with a GFS Stratocaster 15k hot rail. Amazing humbucker tone and it's now the loudest bass I own. Foe anyone wondering, the Bronco pickup is actually a Stratocaster pickup. So any Strat pickup will fit and there are a million options out there. Great mod platform.

  • @Terrible_Peril

    I bought an old Hagstrom H2B which, as I understand, had the precursor pickup to the larger darkstars. It only had one left, the the neck position had a p90 hot glued in (the pick guard was mostly bondo and paint stirrers, legit) but WOW. So I grabbed the Guild bisonic that- at the time- had a broken webpage that was like listed and then removed but I saved it and contacted a rep about it and was able to order one before I guess they were technically available. Once they started getting traction with the Serek stuff I felt so validated because I was like "yeah the novaks are amazing and all but this was a hunnid bucks, mang!! and it sounds KILLER"
    I like to pair it with a tonestyler tone pot because I like how it changes the rolloff.

    I sold an all blacked out Bronco with BiSonic last summer and though I loved the tone and look of the bass, the string height above the pickup wasn't my absolute favorite. When I was building it up I expected to have to route a bit, but all I did was have to measure, cut the pickguard, cut about an 1/8" off the elevator screws (so the body didn't push them), and wire it up. Like a 2 hour project with no hurry at all. I was just so surprised that it fit in so easily. I even found a 20% off coupon for the Guild store.. so that pickup was even more affordable ($82 with tax and shipping). I still love my JMJ though, so I put the Bronco up for sale. Miss how light those tuners were/non-neck-divey that bass was.

    I'm in the process of modding 3 Broncos for 3 of my grandkids. They're 4-6-9 years old.
    I'm putting Dimarzio Billy Corgan BC-2 pickups in them. They drop in and have the most bass response of all their strat-style pickups.

    Lobster love your channel and I need your opinion. I have a 2018 Epiphone SG bass, I bought it used for a very good price and it is mint condition. I also have a 66 Gibson EB-0, and love that bass and thought if the Epiphone was half the bass the old Gibson was I would like it. Well the tone is not but it was in such good shape and love the look of the EB basses I will do what I could to make it the best it could be and this video was at the perfect time. If you could buy the Gibson Mudbucker I would but as you know they don't. I think my options are down to the Dimarzio, Seymour Duncan and the Novak I believe it's called with it more money then I want to spend, I think like $200 or so. Now I am thinking of the Guild and you had mentioned the EB-0. You said it was a single coil pup. The controls are a little bit wanky also, I have no problems with the 3 point Bridge that everyone complains about, the first thing I did when I got the bass was pulled the two outside bridge Inserts out and crazy glued them in because I here on the Epiphone's the have a habit of pulling out. I have to many Fenders and other basses and if I could afford it I would by The Gibson, I always wanted a real long scale EB-3 but they are crazy money. I have about 20 basses and some are Vintage and some are good players, I'm a big Jack Bruce fan and that's why I got the EB-0, it was my first bass I got when I was 13 so I have had it for 45 years. Sorry for long comment, I don't make many comments and i do I keep them short. I like the sound of that Guild pup and I do realize that the Bronco is a shortscale as my EB-0 so that's part of the sound. If you can give me some tips on making this Epiphone as close to the EB-3, or just make it sound better I would be happy, I have the action perfect and love the way it plays, just hate the sound and am ready to start this project any tips I appreciate, thanks Lobster, and if I don't here from you have a happy New Year

  • @D14V0R05
    @D14V0R05 ปีที่แล้ว

    From the thumbnail thought that it was a mudbucker! Well, considering the Bronco is the second cheapest Squier bass, can't expect it to be amazing at that price in any aspect (it isn't a Harley Benton), and wouldn't think of it being worth of getting aftermarket upgrades, but I guess that served its purpose for showcasing that pickup. There was some nasty buzzing when you slapped on it, compared to when you used pick or fingerstyle.

  • @Munchable420
    @Munchable420 ปีที่แล้ว

    So I got an SD quarter pound in mine currently sitting at a slant to account for the tighter string spacing issue, I'm thinking I may do the neck and bridge on mine, neck pickup in your typical EBO spot and the bridge well by the bridge, rout it for a strat output jack and add a volume for the bridge so running a VVT set up.
    There ya go TH-cam, your the first to hear it lmao
